hey dan, this used to be an old nursing home about twenty years ago... its been abandoned since at least 2004, because that was the last time i was in there. it was CREEPY then because there was a bunch of walkers, and medical beds and lots of sad detritus... i went into an old room that someone had recently been squatting in, and was CREEPED out because there was only one way in and out and i felt trapped because I'm sure someone else was in there. i also found a room that someone had been using as a toilet that was littered with HUNDREDs of old human turds and toilet paper. thought id never make it out alive!

A couple of days later, on 3/24, my wife, daughter, and I drove from New York to North Carolina to visit my son. As we drove through Virginia I happened to notice a boarded up motel, and pointed it out to my daughter. What seemed like seconds later, we passed THIS motel! It has the white trailer parked in front. If not for that, I may not have realized it was the same place. I told my daughter (who was riding shotgun for the trip) I had just seen that motel on TH-cam the other day! Really?? she said. I told her to look up Dan Bell on TH-cam but I couldn't remember the title of the vid, so she's frantically searching your channels and eventually finds it. She watches the vid on her phone. Oh My God, she says, that's definately the same place. We probably spend the next half hour talking about your videos. (I think you may have a new subscriber, LOL). Just thought I'd share that with you.

As to the semi trailers on the property, I`d wager they`re full of old semi truck tires. Truck repair places end up with hundreds of old tires that cost money to dispose of. So a shady place will just load up an old trailer, when its full, they take it to an abandoned property like this and take the plates off. Then its someone else`s problem. That, or they`re hiding them from the repo man.
It looked like there was a house or mobile home on the other side of the dog pen, the dogs probably belonged to them. I think Dan got it right, if I lived next to that creepy dead hotel...I'd have some dogs to keep the vagrants away too. Occum's Razor; the simplest answer is probably the most correct.

The "parent" dogs aren't allowed affection or health care, and kept in cages or enclosures until they are killed off when they get too old or injured. Its pretty bad, and even sketchy mills still provide pets to pet stores under with false names. Really sad.

It has been in business for nearly 10 years. It was an active business when Dan and Will were exploring. It was a rehab/retitement facility before the repo lot took over.

they are prob not in the building, the back of the trucks are more comfortable than staying in a motel room with no lights. so you may have wanted to go back and check. most of the time truckers park their trucks in places like that bc they can't at home and/or are close. don't judge a trucker like that, guarantee they were not sleeping in that old motel

they are prob not in the building, the back of the trucks are more comfortable than staying in a motel room with no lights. so you may have wanted to go back and check. most of the time truckers park their trucks in places like that bc they can't at home and/or are close. don't judge a trucker like that, guarantee they were not sleeping in that old motel
The place used to look immaculate in the 80s and 90s. And like some others said, it was a nursing home. It's a shame that it has been left to waste away.

Just so y'all know not every place is even remotely equipped to help in these situations. City people, goodness. Where I came from the police would tell you to just shoot the dog, and the humane society doesn't service rural areas.
