    Awesome video! You make me feel like I’m attending a quality college course on local history. Thank you!

    Good video, but the link is the headwaters, not the mouth, the mouth is where a river ends, if at the ocean, its estuary. I am curious about the silt plume and if it has made it to the mouth/estuary yet.

      Thank you. 8 am sure it's is at the ocean between all three dams being released in the last 30 days

      He is talking about the mouth of the link river where it flows into Klamath lake.

      The mouth of Link River does NOT flow into Klamath Lake. You people are totally ignorant about the subject!@@TinShackVideos

    Most of the spawning grounds will be in the feeder creeks above Iron Gate dam ,like Slide, Jenny, Fall, Shovel, to name a few.

    If u want the truth. Just look at what taking the dams off the Rogue did. Decreased Chinook for the last 20 years. Last good year for Chinook was the year they started taking them out. It did help summer steelhead oddly

    I don't know how long you've lived in Klamath falls, but how many times have you seen the Klamath stop flowing at the lake outlet? It doesn't dry up! Before Link river dam was built, it may have gone subterranial for a brief period (days) during the worst drought, pre-dam. But it hasn't since then. And here's someone to explain why the Klamath won't be drying up any time soon. Besides there are several large tributaries between (the former) JC Boyle dam an Link River dam.

      Please relook at my link river video. You will be shocked at the photos and history of the consistent July and August. The link in the description will show you too it was a consistent feature. The damage removal may cause a real shock to those fantasizing of a rushing river with salmon. In the mean time elk and other species are dying. A friend of mine has a picture of two elk sinking in the mud at jc Boyle.

    The river wouldn't dry up if the watershed had a healthy beaver population because they create wetlands that feed cool, clean water to the river during the hot, dry summers. The wetlands also provide shelter for fish and countless other species.

    • @BeautifuLakesStreamsBiologists
      @BeautifuLakesStreamsBiologists 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Beaver can help the situation, but you don't know if they would make a difference. Taking a grain of sand worth of "knowledge" does not suggest you have a solution to a large problem.

    • @340wbymag
      @340wbymag 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BeautifuLakesStreamsBiologists There is no single solution to restoring the river and the restoration of groundwater, but beavers will make a difference if humans can coexist with them. Frankly, that's a big if, but the science is there to back my claims. Even in areas where beavers cannot survive, humans can mimic their dams to create wetlands. The big dams blocking the river created a great deal of damage, and it will take a long time to repair that damage even if everyone works hard to achieve that goal. There is a lot of anger and bitterness out there now, along with fear of what the future might bring. I suspect there will be a few that fight every attempt to make things better because they have lost trust in the people making decisions. This isn't going to be easy, and no single group can do it alone. Beavers can play a vital role in bringing back the salmon, steelhead, frogs, salamanders, turtles, and many other creatures. We could use their help, and they work cheap.

    Great video!!! In your research is there anything about a natural lake under COPCO 1 Lake called “Clamittee Lake” with a 30 high natural lava reef waterfall? There has been some hints and discussion amongst COPCO Lake residents that a natural lake is under COPCO Reservoir. That might make another great video discussion as well. Be well.

    • @terribleatfishing
      @terribleatfishing  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Where Copco lake was, before there is no historical mention of another lake there, just a river in a deep channel. Perhaps some village ruins will emerge as the lake continues to receded. just what I have found. Thank you for watching my little channel

    You are wrong again.
    The mouth of a river, is where it terminates. You are talking about the HEAD of the Klamath River.
    And you are wrong about the Chinook salmon too. They spawned in the tributaries of Klamath Lake. Quit spreading misinformation and get your facts straight.

    • @terribleatfishing
      @terribleatfishing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      George, the facts are indisputable, the pictures are sobering. The fact that I used word "mouth" wrong means nothing. Look at the reference link in the description. I am not spreading mis information the facts are just opposed to your viewpoint thats all.

    Some advice...you really think you know all the facts from "written documents" and old photos about link river. Now you should go and speak with the tribal nations and see what their records are.
    Get ALL the facts......
