So a few things: 1) I saw in another LizardSkin application vid that sanding was done prior to acetone and application. I've seen some comments in the Transit Forum that sanding isn't needed if the van is super clean/new. Personally, I would rather not sand and create a big mess that then needs to be cleaned before the acetone. I noticed you did not sand. 2) How does the LizardSkin work with your flooring system? Any issues? 3) Did you apply LizardSkin above the headliner? 4) Did you wrap the wiring prior to application?

I have the Lizard skin rep come teach us how to apply correctly. No need to sand, just wipe down with acetone. No issues with the floor. It’s pretty thin in reality. We did spray over the headliner. Probably one of the most important places to spray to be honest. I didn’t cover the wiring harness. It’s a waste of time. It’s water soluble and doesn’t hurt the wiring. People like to make things more complicated than they need to be. Rep even said the same thing.

for the insulation do you think that doing only one coat of 2 gallons on all the flat panels directly in contact with the sun on roof and most of the sides (skipping the ribbing, floor, doors, weird areas) would be better than covering even less area with 1 gallon first coat and 1 gallon second coat leaving you with a smaller area but better insulated?

That’s a tough one. We did sound on the floor but no thermal. I went heavy in the big flat areas, and didn’t bother hitting the second surfaces inside the van too heavily. They got sprayed as we went, but they were not the focus. I would definitely not waste it on the floor. I think focusing on your main areas hit by the sun will definitely add value.

So given your experience with both Kilmat/Thinsulate and LizardSkin acoustic/thermal, which method do you prefer? With the LS did you also use Thinsulate after the thermal coating?

So which method do they prefer. I just got my van and would like to know?

@@bustercarper I did not get an answer and I think the reason is that Matt doesn't want to be liable in case someone has a bad experience either way. I can't blame him. Personally I think LS is the way to go if someone is willing to invest in the air compressor and LS sprayer...and of course follow the instructions and SOP for LS. But that's just my personal opinion and not a recommendation of any kind.

Or you could just wait until you are old and lizard skin will just happen.
