@texesoft Using a frontend software called Hyperspin. Every game system has its own emulator to run the roms, the hyperspin software makes it easier to load the emulators.
One, depends on your internet connection with downloading all of the rom sets for each system.. ive seen setups that are 9 Terabyte. Then once you enter in one system into hyperspin the rest go much quicker because you learn all the shortcuts and how things work within the hyperspin fron end.
cheers man. I'm thinking about doing a bit of an overhaul to it. just spruce it up a bit. not sure just yet if I'll change out the software and stuff, but i'll deffo try to get hyperspin running at some stage.
@BayAreaSun This build has a watercooled GTX280. It is more then enough power to run every emulator including the latest TypeX emulation. I have larger and more powerfull cards in some of my other cabs but I play more PC games on those.
@Shoxpyre Actually I got the tinted plexi to cover it but havent inistalled it yet, I am posting new videos of the cabinet this week with it completed. :)
i watched this video and last night and i fell asleep and in my dream i was playing it dude you are so damn lucky to have something like that i dont even have a system so i really know how lucky you are.
You guys do good work. Would like to see more slim-line cabs come from you guys, I think you would sell more or at least get the attention of the younger arcade fans. All my custom cabinet designs I create I like to make them slim, especially if its a LCD in them.
i have an arcade cabinet, 2 players only, side buttons for pinball, nothing fancy. the screen is a 82cm's old tv crt that was adapted to display the original arcade resolutions with an arcade vga, i also have the scar input where i can connect any console i want... again nothing fancy like yours but since its a crt it plays the games better. you should make one of these with that bug sony 42" crt
Great job, This is the only good example of a widescreen setup that I've seen. I'll be attempting something like this with a more modest 32' display. Hows the depth on this unit? It seems shallower than most cabinets. Does it feel 'tippy'?
That thing is gorgeous! How much was it all together? That's the exact controller config I'm thinking of + a DDR platform and lightguns on the side. The only thing I would change is some trim to frame the LCD so it doesn't look like a TV just sitting there
Can you make a video of you playing a mame game on that machine? I'm planning my own cabinet but have been afraid to go with LCD because of aspect ratio concerns. I would love to see how it plays out on your machine, since it largely resembles the design I am planning.
I have just one question about Hyperspin. How long does it take to set up? It looks incredible but my god it looks like it would eat your time up and spit it right out to make it look that appealing.
How do you make the stickers? I have seen so many MAME cabs with custom stickers and I have always wondered that. Kind of like the people who create custom computer cases(Half Life themed for instance). Do they use a CAD program and a special printer, or design it in a CAD program and have someplace do the molding for them?
arcade games were designed to be displayed on crt's monitors due custom refresh rate, lcd's as of today cannont emulate arcade quality at all, refresh rate wise and color wise. gongrats on the original MK2 arcade, that game is awesome.
I am also having problems in that I have no idea where to start :P Could you direct me to some tutorials or whatnot? That emulation selector is perfect and exactly what I want in my build.
hey Rick what these people fail to understand that CRT's that are made for the arcades are dying off and to buy a new one is 427.00. At least that is what a replacement costs for my Arcade legends 1 cabinet. I saw this video and I went out a got a 32" lcd to build my own MAME. I will start it first of the year. your's looks awesome.
In a few years there ar no crts anymore, I have a arcade machine with lcd. It's freaking awsome!!!! I also have a dedicated MK II machine with crt......what do you have?
hey theLumberjackass i have hyperspin on my laptop and it was easy enough to install, you should put it in your sweet cab!!! im from sligo by the way, watched all of your arcade vids!!! brilliant design!!!
@RidicGraphics Sorry if you have heard this question alot, but how did you get the MAME UI to look like that,I really don't mean to be irrelevant but if you get the time to tell me,I will greatly appreciate it. Thanks in forwards.
hey, I have a few questions: - are there any games or consoles that don't work (since you have 8 buttons are there ones that need even more?) - how much did the cabinet cost to make? (not including the decals and such) I'm trying to figure out the best way to go about making a 4 player mame arcade cabinet but am having trouble figuring that out..
Looks pretty cool dude ! I built a slim-line cab too, but its running maximus arcade. I like the look of hyperspin, but its probably a pain in the balls to install and get it all set up properly.
Not for sale at the moment, it is totally being rebuilt, new graphics, many upgrades and so on. After that I will sell it for the right amount. Make me an offer. Also for those of you who want the plans to build this, I will have them soon, its been taking me longer than I expected because the plans are also being reworked.
Dude, I am so stoked at that creation! I am into emulators myself. I am also into building things. So, heres a deal, how much would you be willing to pay for old computer motherboards, or old guts from gaming electronics with TV out ports? Because if you're gonna run a tattoo shop, a homemade arcade cabinet is what you need. I am so into electronics, that one thing I do with malfunctioned motherboards, is that I repurpose the parts around it for other applications. THUMBS UP!
Yo, riddic, i followed your work on the hyperspin forums, its pretty gosh-darn impressive! :) ive gotten a 42" plasma screen for free, and before i ask im sorry if youve already answered this before, i havent seen it at least, but do you have the plans for this cabinet posted anywhere online? i would love to copy your cab, if you wouldnt mind :P
@nick0mac I have had cops come in and play. And I love all the emulators and games so they will stay as well. I don't charge to play, its just for fun. :)
Bruce Dickinson Wow....I'm still running a Q6600 and it's now 2017 lol I THINK I'm gonna use a Raspberry Pi 3 for my build because I really don't care about anything less than 20 years old at the moment...although I could ABSOLUTELY sacrifice the Q6600 for a MAME cabinet if I ever get the go ahead to build a NEW PC
@supermonkeyacemonkey An easy way to get started is google hyperspin-fe and do research on how to build a cabinet. You can build a decent setup for very cheap.
@RidicGraphics i no but can you use any mame in hyperspin because i heard you cant which is a huge shame as i have mame0.144 or in plain english could i use the hyperspin front end for my mame 0.144
Google hyperspin-fe and you will get all the answers you need. :) As far as buttons go, most don't put more than 6 in their cab, I put 8 but they all never get used. For systems like N64 it is nearly impossible to play anyway since it requires an analog stick. There is arcade controllers that can be used as an analog stick but they are pretty expensive. Without a computer or monitor the cab cost a little over a grand in materials, controls, wood.. etc...
This cab is freakin badass!! I would give you $500 for just the cab alone in a heartbeat!! Where do you live? I'm from Seattle...How much would it cost to ship?
same here mate. i have so many memories of arcades and would love to have a cab and proper pcbs and coin mechs.oh the dreams
A 42 inch Mame Cabinet in your own Tattoo Shop ... taking cool to a whole new level there bro
Love the artwork on the cabinet.
@RidicGraphics And its a EVGA card. The motherboard is an ASUS Rampage 2 Extreme.
@texesoft Using a frontend software called Hyperspin. Every game system has its own emulator to run the roms, the hyperspin software makes it easier to load the emulators.
jesus, that thing's a monster.
One, depends on your internet connection with downloading all of the rom sets for each system.. ive seen setups that are 9 Terabyte. Then once you enter in one system into hyperspin the rest go much quicker because you learn all the shortcuts and how things work within the hyperspin fron end.

that is so beautiful!!! you should be so proud!!!! great job man!
@Shoxpyre Actually I got the tinted plexi to cover it but havent inistalled it yet, I am posting new videos of the cabinet this week with it completed. :)
@blutundeisen I see what your saying, the Xmen cab was huge! Had two monitors in it if I remember correctly.
i watched this video and last night and i fell asleep and in my dream i was playing it
dude you are so damn lucky to have something like that i dont even have a system so i really know how lucky you are.
You guys do good work. Would like to see more slim-line cabs come from you guys, I think you would sell more or at least get the attention of the younger arcade fans. All my custom cabinet designs I create I like to make them slim, especially if its a LCD in them.
If you don't charge for it, technically it is not illegal. This is awesome cabinet!
i have an arcade cabinet, 2 players only, side buttons for pinball, nothing fancy. the screen is a 82cm's old tv crt that was adapted to display the original arcade resolutions with an arcade vga, i also have the scar input where i can connect any console i want... again nothing fancy like yours but since its a crt it plays the games better.
you should make one of these with that bug sony 42" crt
never recently wanted anything more in my life than that
I need some cabs from you bro. RidicGraphics skills are sick!!!!
great cab mate. is your shop open? you should link to it here, would love to see some more of your work. The water cooling addition is fantastic
Great job, This is the only good example of a widescreen setup that I've seen. I'll be attempting something like this with a more modest 32' display. Hows the depth on this unit? It seems shallower than most cabinets. Does it feel 'tippy'?

@elmexicanking
The front end is called Hyperspin...
@carlosrap6
Cost $1500 to $6000 depending on what type of computer you want in it. Without the PC cost I would say about $1000
Grats bro, I hope you and your customers enjoy it =)
I have just one question about Hyperspin. How long does it take to set up? It looks incredible but my god it looks like it would eat your time up and spit it right out to make it look that appealing.
i agree.ive tried arcade on both lcd with every filter and crt wins by a huge leap
How do you make the stickers? I have seen so many MAME cabs with custom stickers and I have always wondered that. Kind of like the people who create custom computer cases(Half Life themed for instance). Do they use a CAD program and a special printer, or design it in a CAD program and have someplace do the molding for them?

I am also having problems in that I have no idea where to start :P Could you direct me to some tutorials or whatnot? That emulation selector is perfect and exactly what I want in my build.
Could you show your PS1 game selection and setup at some point I would really like to see that in action in terms of layout etc thanks.
That is one sweet...sweet machine!!!!
hey Rick what these people fail to understand that CRT's that are made for the arcades are dying off and to buy a new one is 427.00. the build looks good....and all that hidious artwork kills it.
to each his own, I think the artwork is good (minus the asus)
It actually is very hard to tip it.. 4 people banging on the controls and getting crazy doesnt even budge it
hey theLumberjackass i have hyperspin on my laptop and it was easy enough to install, you should put it in your sweet cab!!! im from sligo by the way, watched all of your arcade vids!!! brilliant design!!!
It does have a bezel on it now.. this was when I first built it...
It turned out great! Great work!
@RidicGraphics Sorry if you have heard this question alot, but how did you get the MAME UI to look like that,I really don't mean to be irrelevant but if you get the time to tell me,I will greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in forwards.
What software are you using? How would i be able to run so many systems like that? Very cool love the graphics all over it
I dont offer them on my website yet.. but soon hopefully
Do you have the 4 player template for the buttons you used? The whole panel layout with dimensions? I'm planning to build one just like your´s
hey, I have a few questions:
- are there any games or consoles that don't work (since you have 8 buttons are there ones that need even more?)
- how much did the cabinet cost to make? (not including the decals and such)
I'm trying to figure out the best way to go about making a 4 player mame arcade cabinet but am having trouble figuring that out..
This is the sickest thing i've ever seen! What is the UI that the system is running on?? It's amazing.
This is one bad ass cab.
not selling it at the moment, I am actually completely redoing it to improve some stuff on it
@MegatronFlexmistic09
Looks pretty cool dude ! I built a slim-line cab too, but its running maximus arcade.
I like the look of hyperspin, but its probably a pain in the balls to install and get it all set up properly.
its hyperspin front end which manages all the emus and roms
Sweet looking cabinet by the way! Want to build one so bad but don't have the time, money, or space at the moment to do it:(
Beautiful cabinet!
Front end is Hyperspin, then all your emulators for each system are configured inside hyperspin.
THIS IS F'ed up ! Great stuff man ! Awesome !
WHAT PROGRAM IS THAT?? LOOKS JUST PLAIN SICK. I WANNA BUILD A CAB, BUT WITH EVERY SYSTEM AND EVERY GAME LIKE YOURS.
Not for sale at the moment, it is totally being rebuilt, new graphics, many upgrades and so on. After that I will sell it for the right amount. Make me an offer. Also for those of you who want the plans to build this, I will have them soon, its been taking me longer than I expected because the plans are also being reworked.
Is the User interface your own custom one? Really neat layout and presentation on that
Its a universal front-end software. The name is "Hyperspin", and it manages all emulator. Its for free, but its a pain in the ass to install it.
Excelent excelent job!! Which program did yoou use? Is it only one emulator or is a multiple emulator loader?
that thing is a beast
Thats a beast of a Machine :) what is the Front end use?
Dude, I am so stoked at that creation!
I am into emulators myself. I am also into building things. So, heres a deal, how much would you be willing to pay for old computer motherboards, or old guts from gaming electronics with TV out ports? @ottopoto185 .. The cost was about $6,000
@ianness1990 No Hyperspin is just a front end to run mame and all the other emulators
I'd love to get ahold of the plans for this. Any chance I could convince you to send them to me?
check out hyperspin and the hypersync that goes with it it can team up with emu movies and do this auto
dude thats awsome, i know what to do with my old quad core parts, mame cab FTW.
42'' on a arcade is fukin crazy man!
respect!
@RidicGraphics nope just one big screen. and it had like 6! players ^^
No, hyperspin supports 4 players. Download hyperspin and you will see it in the config where you can set the buttons for 1 to 4 players.
Ridic, would you mind throwing me a copy of the plans as well?
Thanks!
@nick0mac I have had cops come in and play. And I love all the emulators and games so they will stay as well. I don't charge to play, its just for fun. :)
Nice Rick, its sweet!
Super sweet. What are the technical specs of this machine? Also what software are you using to switch between emulators so easily and quickly?
software is hyperspin... and this arcade that I built 4 or so years ago at the time had a quad core q6600 cpu, gtx290 i think and all watercooled..
Bruce Dickinson Wow....I'm still running a Q6600 and it's now 2017 lol
I THINK I'm gonna use a Raspberry Pi 3 for my build because I really don't care about anything less than 20 years old at the moment...although I could ABSOLUTELY sacrifice the Q6600 for a MAME cabinet if I ever get the go ahead to build a NEW PC
I see. Nonetheless, very impressive MAME. Best one I've seen.
I have actual arcades with crt's and then I have emulated hyperspin setups with LCD's..... what do you have?
This thing is bad ass!
BEAST!!! Holy shit dude, that's amazing! Were you gonna put a black bordered plexi glass on there? it'd make this thing look 100% complete
This is so cool. love the sonic
That is sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ThatsFresh26 Start with joining hyperspin-fe community... they are great people with everything you need to know about building an arcade cabinet.
What type of GC are you running on the ASUS Board(assuming it is)?
nice front-end, did u make it?
@supermonkeyacemonkey An easy way to get started is google hyperspin-fe and do research on how to build a cabinet. You can build a decent setup for very cheap.
Would you sell a set of the graphics/stickers that are on the cabinet?
you layout or plans where i can downlad two make it my own
one question... i thought hyperspin was 2 player controls only, how did you configure it?
@RidicGraphics i no but can you use any mame in hyperspin because i heard you cant which is a huge shame as i have mame0.144 or in plain english could i use the hyperspin front end for my mame 0.144
what kind of issues do you have? maybe i can help you with that.
Google hyperspin-fe and you will get all the answers you need. :)

Very Nice!
cool
Very Cool...But Where Is The Track Ball?
xD
First thanks for your reply, but I need it complete how much you want..
FYI I i leave in Libya .
how do you put so many game systems on a Arcade? what kind of mother board will I need?
Where did you get all those games from , how much did it cost?
So, $500 would get me the empty cab, buttons/controls and all the wiring? Because, I could get the PC, screen, sound and my own roms.
What the hell that’s awesome!
@SeGaSaTuRn1994 Hyperspin front end to run the emulator and roms.
If you can find a big 4x3 aspect LCD snag it up. Widescreen is the worst for arcade and old console emulation. They all have a stretched picture
What version of MAME arcade is that one? I been looking for the emulator.
MEN thats really awesome , if i seend you a email can you pass me the plans on how to build one ? thnks
This cab is freakin badass!! I would give you $500 for just the cab alone in a heartbeat!! Where do you live? I'm from Seattle...How much would it cost to ship?
