I concur, I ve been watching Best Motoring before youtube came to be, never understood a word but just loved it how they had a camera in the footwell and on the speedo and rpm gauge. Surely great comparisons and one of the best car shows in the world.
Its one of the best comparison i have ever saw. they really test the car will. and i was not surprise about bmw specially the 550 with active steering KILL THEM ALL. M5 Is King of the track.
I completely agree with you. My comment was just in response to Marios Hristoti, in which he said the S2000 had an unfair advantage vs the RX-8 and 350Z. My argument was simply that they all 3 of those cars had suspension tunings and that the S2000's power mods are hardly beneficial.
That's a Mugen Spec S2000 (Honda's tuner company) , just like there is a 350Z Version S, and an A Spec RX-8. The main improvements that Mugen did were mostly suspension mods and that wing. The S2000's engine is finely tuned, so any NA mods they did to it would see minimal improvement. There are some lightweight parts utilized, but you also have to factor in the weight of that hardtop added on. Overall it only weights 14 kg lighter than a stock s2000.

Not to mention that driver and race track can make a difference too e. g. Tsukuba with two long straights and a long right turn. For a factory tuned car like the M5 vs a tuner car, not a bad outcome, given the about equal power to weight ratio. The S2000 wins the cornering section.
BMW M series are factory tuned cars, that's why they let them compete against some hobby tuner cars. It looks like the S2000 has about the same power to weight ratio than the M5 and cornering gives it a sleight advantage over the long straights.

M5 ran a 12.5 seconds in the 1/4 mile while S2000 ran a 14.4 seconds in the 1/4 mile. 114 mph vs 99 mph trap speed difference. At the top end, there is not even a race. S2000 was heavily tuned and such a short and mostly corners track, M5 is at a disadvantage here. Put them around a high speed, technical track like 'ring and the S2000 will vanish in the rearview mirror very quickly.

because manual M5 only sells on USA and its totally Rare version, is hard to remember but i think only 2500 of the manual version are created, not is easy to get one, and the m3 e46 SMG II is more faster than the Manual Version, I have the both version and for track the SMG Version is totally better, but for purism Manual is totally better, but thats strange, he dont use the paddle shift, he goes on triptonic mode

So basically what youre saying is total bullshit. and @b00stedrust above explained why -- it's a fucking 4 cyl mid-tier coupe car against a v10 twice as powerfel, not less upgraded suspension and tire-wise sports sedan, which basically lost cuz of the long straightaway before the finish line. Don't get all butthurt. bmw is overhyped and overpriced crap in my experience anyway. Them fanboys always getting butthurt..

I thought S2000 is to be outsider, but light weight, almost 50:50 weight ratio, high rpm engine did its job.
M5更大更重,速度更快,哈哈。M3也比那几个日本跑车(还有点改装)尺寸大,但跑的更快。最后出发却漂移冲线,E60 M5确实是好车啊。
