When a country's market liberalizes, big global private entities are the first to rush in. They'll gladly "incentivize" such a move by paying off parts of the debt. Expect to see less labor protections, monopolization of land and resources (or more of such where none existed), more wealth disparity (poor getting poorer, rich getting richer, and a shrinking of the middle class), loosening of environmental protection, among other issues.

Do not be misguided. The Argentine appears close to a certain norm than what is the fact. Last month I was in caba and I kept waiting for people to speak English because they look American. They are different and cultural things are lost in translation.
The recurrent inflation in Argentina, a product of the permanent printing of unsupported currency, has been caused by the corrupt Peronist and Socialist politicians who have dominated practically the last 100 years. The last 20 years of Kirchnerism were only interrupted for a brief period of four years by President Macri who was surrounded by Kirchnerists and failed to accomplish his task, increasing even more the indebtedness with which it was possible to pay some of the debts previously contracted by Kirchnerism.
milei will have a hard time, usually when you have high inflation and you stop the printing press, recession follows and unemployment, and inflation falls fast, changing to the dollar without dollars... he will have to attract the dollars opening the economy and investments, he needs to go to the usa and talk to people there, its going to be hard i hope he brings argentina around for good.
Milei will implement a removal of subsidies and a tariff recomposition according to the improvement of the population's income, not before that. there will not be a sudden increase in tariffs, the impact of the adjustment in the budget will affect the parasitic and corrupt public sector, and the companies that take advantage of that. when the real salary recovers, the tariffs will be structured, the intention will be to take fiscal measures that will relieve the companies without affecting the consumers. the people who receive social plans are victims, so he will not go against the victims but against the victimizers who are the corrupt politicians. the Argentines who depend on State assistance to survive are the victims of the system, he also said "we will not take any decision that will transfer the cost of the adjustment to the citizens the elimination of social assistance would be a crime, until Argentina has not adopted the economic model of freedom that allows the creation of wealth, the generation of work and welfare , WE will not touch the people". although a great victory was predicted in the first round, the fraudulent electoral system took away at least 10%, making him come in second place, but thanks to the supervision of the voting by hundreds of thousands of volunteers he achieved 56% which otherwise would have been impossible.
It seems Milei had many ideas to overturn the goverment establishment, but much less about building a new one, and basically none about how to compromise his way to achieve them. Good luck Argentina, you are going to need it.

This is more because of Peronism and the previous government that praised the ultra-left along with the worst economy minister Sergio Massa who devalued our national currency by 138.5% in just 1 year, giving bad plans, stealing from us with taxes and leaving us with bank debts that were not paid (from 2007-2000 to the present) and were increasing in the long term. Especially with the idea of dollarizing the country and drasticly cutting the fat. Best wishes to Argentina and all Argentinian people.
We did this in Puerto Rico and it ended with near collapse of the economy and a Junta being put into place. Anytime these austerity programs are put into place it backfires royally. I doubt this time will be different. Worse of all, dollarizing an economy will mean making your country subject to the US fed and that can royally backfire. Smh none of his fiscal plans are logistically valid long term. Privatizing all public systems, ending public schools and social programs will only cause more inequality and strife. The only short gain is for the rich and for the very poor? Suffering and misery. See when you privatize everything the government gets short term boost in money from selling off these industries and deregulating, but soon prices shoot up as private industries seek to maximize profits and cut corners.

I don't believe Milei is the perfect person for the job, but the only thing we need to kick off as a country again is to fix our recurrent economic time bomb. If he manages to do it then that will be more than what we have achieved with all the peronist/kirchnerist governments.
What nobody comments when analyzing these permanent crisis is that in the 90's Argentina sold all its assests because that was what the Washington Consensus told everybody to do. So Argentina was left without most of the resources and companies that could help finance it's federal government expenses. So now it's easyt to point and say: look at these dumb argies, they can't handle a budget. Now Jake Sullivan says with no concern at all "you know, all that we said back then was wrong..." That's just one major detail nobody seems to care, or isn't convenient to say.

Now I'm looking forward to seeing how things unfold over the next few years.
@@jalicea1650 you dont know what you are talking abou, come live here in argentina, then talk, he is not going to end public schools, he already said that, peronism is the main cause of argentina´s current state, you think USA inflation is bad? try +150% inflation rate anually, overspending and robbing everything, thats what this crooked peronists politicians were doing for the last 20 years. Milei is really needed right now, we can not allow half measures
@@jalicea1650I dnt think you listened to them speak or maybe we heard two different things in what they said. There was a key point in what one guy said and it's the most important thing that was said and it's happening in every country all over the world. But he said that young people want to work in the government that 40 percent of the people that are working in Argentina work for the government. The government produces NOTHING. No government on this planet produces ANYTHING. So you thinking that Any social programs helps it doesn't.
Craziest thing you can't feed wild animals because they will forget how to hunt yet for some reason people have the delusionvthat they can do that with humans even though we are all mammals. You say people will stay poor some will stay poor and some will get rich. That is life, the strong will rise and the weak will fall. Only thing you hope is to make it where everyone can compete, thatx it. You take away government power and you take away monopolys. The government is the only way for a monopoly to be a monopoly
@@jalicea1650 Argentina can't get into much more of a pickle and it is totally solvable, but it needs so many changes it will be painful!?!
@@jalicea1650It's already terrible in Argentina. They're printing so much money relative to economic activity It's causing hyperinflation. You have to cut the programs because most of the money goes to salaries. Peronism has already backfired in Argentina. It's already created haves and have nots.
Argentinians often already use the us dollar. So the transition isn't as bad as you think.
Right wing, raising in the world. Because of left-wing.😂😂😂😂😂
What a stupid comment
You are talking to French dudes who like a bit proportion of French who dream of working for the public sector. Don't listen to them.
No such thing as Free Market. You know it's a myth, but you use the term anyway???? Is this news for kids?
Populist ?! Dude, the international media has no idea what an anarco capitalist liberal is :P Nope he is not far right, nor he is donald trump. He is not a right wing populist. Do your job and learn better about politics if you are going to report about it. Or maybe even interview Milei, he is very accessible, even if you don t understand a thing about economics... he is willing to explain as he is a professor in the matter.
The incompentent kirchnerist government forced me into being an economic refugee and I share the frustration and anger of many Argentineans that suffered their governments.
Now Jake Sullivan says with no concern at all "you know, all that we said back then was wrong..." That's just one major detail nobody seems to care, or isn't convenient to say.
cry for me Argentina
Please make zure you ask about his interest in "tantric sex," whatever that is. I figured French would know. Also, he wants the Falklands back. I got the impression les Brits dont agree. 😂
A country is not made by one man, but the efford of every single citizen. Creativity, hard work, innovation and education.
Another Latin American Messiah. 😆 🤣 😂
Jajaja. The Argentinians are really funny. The guy is crazy and his election shows how low the Argentinians have fall.
Hi I’m the middle East and Asia 🤠. Don’t think we’ve met before
Well, that was… biased.
populism? Im from Venezuela and I know hows populist looks like, this guy isnt one of them! HE ALWAYS SAYS THAT HE COUL CUT SPENDINGS and thats is the most UNPOPULISM wayys to make campain.
This is exactly what Argentina needs. The media here looks at that country and thinks, '140% inflation, well they cant have a conservative.' Ridiculous.
Will the new president revive the battle between Astor Piazzola and Carlos Gardel? ... Argentinians must long for times when culturtal war was a heated debate on a bar table about New Tango and traditional Tango ...
