    It’s actually very simple. Argentina has terrible inflation because even its own people don’t want to own their own currency Argentines do not want to own the Argentine peso, so what they do is they use it to buy dollars so the Argentina peso loses its value increasing inflation, so the problem is that the government mismanagement of the economy, especially the leftist government mismanagement of the economy, have killed the public confidence in their own currency. That’s why you have runaway inflation.

    Milei has been a university professor for many years and many of his students consider him a genius.
    his television appearances started around 2016 when the culture battle began, explaining to people how harmful a large and also corrupt state is and how harmful printing money without backing is, this did not happen overnight, people know who he is and trust him. all his plans he has explained in detail. there is no uncertainty as the market's reaction to learning of Milei's win has shown.

    Argentina was the second largest economy by the end of the 19th century. After a century of socialism the country is 140 and half of the people lives under the poverty line. That's the legacy of socialism. Milei is the hope of a free market better future.

    Not only are these economists even more incoherent than those in The US, but their implied assumptions and those of the presenter uttterly ignore the destructive incentives of statism and socialism, dismissing altogether the benefits to both individuals and society of economic freedom. But who is surprised?

    • @liefwerk
      @liefwerk 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh yes, the famous benefits of oligopoly, inelasticity, unruled financial markets and trickle-down economics. It's easy to criticize state intervention when all you see are the restrictions caused by its ruling. I'd argue that economic freedom as you call it, will only increase inequality, paradoxically remove freedom of movement and choice for the people and even increase the country's debt.

    The recurrent inflation in Argentina, a product of the permanent printing of unsupported currency, has been caused by the corrupt Peronist and Socialist politicians who have dominated practically the last 100 years. The last 20 years of Kirchnerism were only interrupted for a brief period of four years by President Macri who was surrounded by Kirchnerists and failed to accomplish his task, increasing even more the indebtedness with which it was possible to pay some of the debts previously contracted by Kirchnerism.

    Milei will implement a removal of subsidies and a tariff recomposition according to the improvement of the population's income, not before that. there will not be a sudden increase in tariffs, the impact of the adjustment in the budget will affect the parasitic and corrupt public sector, and the companies that take advantage of that. when the real salary recovers, the tariffs will be structured, the intention will be to take fiscal measures that will relieve the companies without affecting the consumers. the people who receive social plans are victims, so he will not go against the victims but against the victimizers who are the corrupt politicians. the Argentines who depend on State assistance to survive are the victims of the system, he also said "we will not take any decision that will transfer the cost of the adjustment to the citizens the elimination of social assistance would be a crime, until Argentina has not adopted the economic model of freedom that allows the creation of wealth, the generation of work and welfare , WE will not touch the people".
    although a great victory was predicted in the first round, the fraudulent electoral system took away at least 10%, making him come in second place, but thanks to the supervision of the voting by hundreds of thousands of volunteers he achieved 56% which otherwise would have been impossible.

      This is more because of Peronism and the previous government that praised the ultra-left along with the worst economy minister Sergio Massa who devalued our national currency by 138.5% in just 1 year, giving bad plans, stealing from us with taxes and leaving us with bank debts that were not paid (from 2007-2000 to the present) and were increasing in the long term.
      In my opinion, the left is useless if the country is in an economic crisis with 100 years of debts to pay.

      We did this in Puerto Rico and it ended with near collapse of the economy and a Junta being put into place. Anytime these austerity programs are put into place it backfires royally. I doubt this time will be different. Worse of all, dollarizing an economy will mean making your country subject to the US fed and that can royally backfire. Smh none of his fiscal plans are logistically valid long term. Privatizing all public systems, ending public schools and social programs will only cause more inequality and strife. The only short gain is for the rich and for the very poor? Suffering and misery. See when you privatize everything the government gets short term boost in money from selling off these industries and deregulating, but soon prices shoot up as private industries seek to maximize profits and cut corners.

There was a key point in what one guy said and it's the most important thing that was said and it's happening in every country all over the world. But he said that young people want to work in the government that 40 percent of the people that are working in Argentina work for the government. The government produces NOTHING. No government on this planet produces ANYTHING. So you thinking that Any social programs helps it doesn't.
      Craziest thing you can't feed wild animals because they will forget how to hunt yet for some reason people have the delusionvthat they can do that with humans even though we are all mammals. I don't believe Milei is the perfect person for the job, but the only thing we need to kick off as a country again is to fix our recurrent economic time bomb. If he manages to do it then that will be more than what we have achieved with all the peronist/kirchnerist governments.

    What nobody comments when analyzing these permanent crisis is that in the 90's Argentina sold all its assests because that was what the Washington Consensus told everybody to do. So Argentina was left without most of the resources and companies that could help finance it's federal government expenses. So now it's easyt to point and say: look at these dumb argies, they can't handle a budget. Now Jake Sullivan says with no concern at all "you know, all that we said back then was wrong..." That's just one major detail nobody seems to care, or isn't convenient to say.
