I have Tony's DVDs. It was refreshing to hear Bruce speak intelligently and with authority. On Tony's DVDs all you hear him do is yell in pain as he is submitted for instructional purposes. Thanks for posting. Good stuff.

If you're shooting correctly, your might put a tear in your pants in the street, but your knee isn't slamming into the ground; it's more of a method of quick propulsion, because you are driving forward and bringing your trail leg up. If you've ever wrestled, you've practiced the "duck walk" or "step of champions." If you can do this on concrete (and you can), you can take a knee shot on concrete. In fact, as we talk about on Snap, No Tap, if you're worried about scuffing your knee or tearing your pants in a street fight, you probably shouldn't be in one. Now, that having been said, there are things like blast doubles, ducks, slide-bys, heel picks, etc., that you can do in the street without hitting a knee.

well i have shot in the concrete when i didnt have a mat to wrestle on but you could get scraped if the ground is rough

@bretlynn That's the old Tool and Die shop. Back in the day, they'd roll wherever they could, sometimes without a mat.

@jamesallenyz431 Yeah your right he's gotten really heavy.....he used to be in really good shape on "Enter tha dragon"... He really needs to step up that cardio.
Nice insight on those catch wrestling techniques though, i used some of Tony Cecchine's catch techniques in my jiu jtsu class and they worked out great .thanks!!

yeah no doubt, i was just saying i think hes showing this for wrestling competition and not fighting in a parking lot somewhere. really shooting at all isnt ideal for that though a shallow shot would be better

wrestling and all combat sports were made for fighting in the first place and many people train wrestling/bjj/mma/wahtever sport for self defense

Hi, thanks for posting. I'm 5'6 195, 42 and practice BJJ for the past six months. I had a tournament last weekend and I will run across this lady again I am sure. This lady stands straight up, she doesn't bend over, she is at least 5 inches taller than me and probably 50 to 60 pounds heavier. Do you have any advice. Thanks, Michele michele18schmidt@gmail.com

no offense but this is bad for street fighting. If you drop your knee on your shot like that you will shatter your knee cap on the conrete.
