bought a banshee last year, left piston was melted. i just finished rebuilding it and started to tune the carbs before first start when i realized on the left carb the idle screw wasnt making contact with the slide until the last half turn in. i bet thats what caused the left cylinder to lean out on the previous owner. im glad i noticed the issue, but im even happier this video confirms it. keep up the great work!!
Melted pistons don't occur because of idle SPEED, they melt cuz people premix poorly eg. ratio's, run old/bad gas as well as jetting, if modded. Inspect the plugs!

hey i was wondering if you could make a video about how to adjust your idle screws and cable after a tors delete, i have no clue what to do. my banshee wont stay idling, after i ride it around the idle gets higher and wont go back down to a normal idle speed but after i shut it off and then start it again it goes back to normal, it wont rev to redline sometimes. sometimes when i start it, it will just start revving up and i have to shut it off. i dont know what to do i really need help, im also new to this stuff so any help would be greatly appreciated!
I see you're pretty much a banshee doctor I have some decent knowledge of two strokes and repairing them. So I decided to trade a guy my YZ 250 for his banshee that he says " only goes up to 50 mph " and isn't hitting the power band. What would you think could be the cause ? The parking brake and rev limiter wire? Or what ? This is going to be my first banshee . Any thing that could lead to me fixing her would help.
Man its hard to say, could be jetting issues, dirty carbs, air leak, or ignition issues. best thing to do is dump tank, add fresh fuel compression test leakdown test new plugs clean carbs and jet as needed n see where that takes you.
Hey it's ill beats I'm just on my back up TH-cam. But I got the banshee and I cleaned carbs/new gas/plugs/ coolant/oil. I took motor apart the bike just been rebuilt low hour wiesco pistons (65mm bore)/ported cylinder /vforce 3 reeds and a wiesco crank with fmf pipes. Does have the TORs delete and parking brake delete.. also when I cleaned the cabs none of the carbs have idle screws.. just air screws.. as is they took them out... bike was running like crap.but recently the bike was running hotter on one side then other (pipe was cooler on the left side then right) so I swapped coils out from my buddies running banshee now I'm getting no fire.. so I'm thinking my stator? All wires are connected I have sanded all grounds. What could it be? Before I trade it for this running raptor 660??? Also if u have like a facebook or something I could message you in that would be great.
Got my banschee with tors already deleted and it ran ok. I added the idle screw to both carbs and it wouldn't start until I backed the idle screws out all the way. Also if the gas is left on it's leaking out of the left carb to the right of the choke. Any ideas?
Any plans on making a video that shows how to sync the carburetors? I use one of those weber vac gauges to do mine. Is there a better way? The sight glass on the carbs are usually too dirty/discolored to see what's going on.
Hi south texas banshee im over here in the united kingdom an not many fix banshees ive brought a banshee an its suppose to have a tors delete but it looks like they have not used the tors delete kit can you in anyway use old cables to tune carbs as wont idle ?
Good afternoon sir. If you dont have an idle screw on the left carb ( clutch side) how can i bring up my idle? It does not have tors on it. Just starting working on my second banshee this month. My other bike has them. But this one doesnt, just one on the brake side is this right. Any help would be appreciated.
Ruben Lopez Man you really need to have the idle screws to do it the right way. You can screw the cable out up at the throttle housing, but that could cause the idle to raise when you turn the bars. Need to drill and two those screw holes and install the idle screws for it to be right.

+logan jacobs, I'll do that for you. Sounds like your air mixture is lean and cable just has too much slack in it.
