I love how everyone keeps putting their own verse for the stranger and all but it's absolutely perfect that the stranger is not mentioned because nobody prays to The Stranger.
'The Stranger never sheds their tears As they wait and watch and count our years Their cold embrace will end all fears So weep not little children' My interpretation of the Stranger's verse.
The Father's face is stern and strong, he sits and judges right from wrong. He weighs our lives, the short and long, and loves the little children The Mother gives the gift of life, and watches over every wife. Her gentle smile ends all strife, and she loves her little children The Warrior stands before the foe, protecting us where e'er we go. With sword and shield and spear and bow, he guards the little children. The Crone is very wise and old, and sees our fates as they unfold. She lifts her lamp of shining gold to lead the little children. The Smith, he labors day and night, to put the world of men to right. With hammer, plow, and fire bright, he builds for little children. The Maiden dances through the sky, she lives in every lover's sigh. Her smiles teach the birds to fly, and gives dreams to little children. The Stranger is the one unknown Who watches us from birth to bone Until their likeness etched in stone And waits for little children. The Seven Gods who made us all, are listening if we should call. So close your eyes, you shall not fall, they see you, little children. Just close your eyes, you shall not fall, they see you, little children.
Yeah, but no. The concept of a many-in-one god/goddess is hundreds, of not thousands, of years older than christianity. Then again, the men who wrote the bible stole pretty much everything from the much, much older religions in and around the middle-east. Nothing new under the sun, in this as in all things.
Is this a legit verse of the song? as far as I know, they don't pray or sing about the Stranger much. But eve if its not, it should be included though. He is still part of the Seven. Nice job! Seven Blessings to you! :D

The Stranger 's lowest in our hearts Whose words are neither sweet nor tart He takes the life both dim and smart Gives rest to little children Am I too late for this?
I just realised this is as if the Maiden herself is singing the song, since it ends with “so close your eyes you shall not fall” as if she’s lulling them to sleep and she brings dreams to the children

The stranger, though his face's unshown He's been with us since we were born He'll guide us to the place unknown While watching our little children ... Not sure if you would like it.. :)
Reading the stanzas written for the Stranger shows the diversity of the talent of folks who listen to Karliene. But they just couldn't resist, could they?
They just felt, and rightly so, that the Stranger should have a stanza in the song of the seven, because only six are given a stanza in the song. Father, Mother, Warrior, Crone, Smith, Maiden, but none for Stranger. Yet he is one of the seven.
The Starks represent each of the Seven Faces of God. Ned-The Father Catelyn-The Mother Robb-The Warrior Bran-The Crone Rickon-The Smith (Perhaps foreshadowing Rickon the Rebuilder?) Sansa-The Maiden Arya-The Stranger Jon isn't one of the seven because he's a bastard or maybe a Targaryen
The maiden is thouth snow? But upon her blessing was not the snow born . Or twas Rivers ? Or did her blessing giveth birth to Sand . Or the Waters and the Flowers?
I'm definately man enough to admit, this made me tear up a bit. Wauw! You have one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard, and this version of the song is so unbelievably beautiful! How you have not yet been featured on the show is a mystery to me!

Yeah, it would fit something more fantastical than Game of Thrones like Lord of the Rings or something that's even more fantasy based with fairies etc.
Well this is a song they could easily have to play in like a preview for the next season. And with each god named they could show clips of one person like Danny as the mother, John snow as the father, Bran as the crone even though he isn't a woman, Sam as the smith, Brien as the maid. I think that'd be cool.

Your voice is phenomenal. It is all our privilege to hear this incredible talent. More people need to listen to this... you have a great gift. I adore medieval music; in my experience, I haven't seen many people who can pull off singing like this. Your music is incredible. Please ignore the morbid username. It's just a joke I like to play on my friends :)
Hey Karliene, glad to see you do another GoT song! I absolutely am in love with this rendition of the song, you still have the voice of an angel. Keep up the great work, this truly is a masterpiece and it's perfect.
The Stranger waits for those who breath, He cares not for fame and wealth, as he makes the book of death, he writes the little children. Just something I thought of while wondering who truly is the god of death in that world.
The Father- Eddard The Mother- Lyanna The Warrior- Barristan The Maid- Tysha The Crone- The Ghost of High Heart The Smith- Beric or Septon Meribald The Stranger- Arya Or for a darker take on the Seven The Father- Tywin The Mother Cersei The Warrior- Gregor Clegane The Maid- Shae The Crone- Melisandre The Smith- Brynden Rivers The Stranger- Ramsay Bolton
The Father: Eddard Stark The Mother: Daenerys Targaryen The Warrior: Jon Snow The Maid: Sansa Stark The Smith: Gendry (?) The Crone: Old Nan The Stranger: Arya Stark/ No one
I feel so ashamed that i haven't found your songs until now. This song made me think of all the great moments i experienced reading the books and for that i thank you.
I don't watch Game of Thrones, but even then I get excited when I see that you posted anything new, be it a cover or a fansong, because you do such a beautiful job. It's so enchanting~
I know what you mean. I don't watch GoT either (I tried but when they killed Sean I was over it, seems like they're killing everyone off) but Karliene's beautiful songs and voice is just... I think I've pushed repeat on this song 30 + times by now. :)
Honestly, Robert's death was obvious; literally it was foreshadowed since episode one. Drogo and Eddard's deaths made sense as well; we'd have a very different story with both. Eddard was very main character-like, so killing him was supposed to be a message: things are messy. This is war and anyone can die at any times. In the privy, falling from a cliff, torn apart or poisoned. Drogo, again, sent the same message, and Dany's future and aspirations would not have worked as well as Drogo's wife. Plenty of the main cast, both heroes and villains, are even still alive, even though we're all too aware that they could be killed. Except Tyrion. Knock on wood, but I suspect he'll out live everyone. Because George literally said he's his favorite character too...not that that makes him safe.
I love this melody Karliene. It makes me wish you were singing in the show, at one of the many celebrations, or as a slave Daenerys frees. Your voice would haunt G.R.R. Martin's soul.
So excited for the new GoT song! All of your work is just impeccable but I've been looking forward to a new GoT one and here it is! As stunning as always! I agree it's too bad there's no verse for the Stranger because with your voice... that would have been so haunting.
***** I know there was no verse written for him, I just wish there was cause I know the verse could have been so stunning and haunting with your verse!
The stranger is unknown to us all, with a shrouded face he watches all, he waits for the cover of night, to take the little children. And if you did not like the first one here's another one that I came up with about the stranger. The stranger is a mysterious & dangerous man, he comes & goes while he can, he has no regard for human life, so be weary of him little children. This was my first time trying my hand at this.
Dear Karliene , At first , I have to tell you : I'm french ! I'm just a ( pretty ) young girl : 15 years old ! I want to learn the english until I'm perfect to this tongue ( so if there are some mistakes , that's totally normal x/ ) I will just say one thing : I love your music ! It's ... how to say ... awesome ! I think it's celtic music , doesn't it ? In France , there's not this music way ... I'm so saaaaad ... Hapily , you exist :) I ( there are too much " I " in this message , sorry ) LOVE your songs about Westeros ! So I write my comment under my favourite song (
I am not big on Game Of Thrones (probably the only nerdy guy in the world who hasn't read the books or seen the series) but I absolutely love your music Karliene. I have learned from your music more about GoT from your music than any other source. The only song you have done that I personally someone else did better is the Song of Beren and Luthien (check out the version Clamavi De Profundis did). But that is the only one.
The Stranger is "The Grim Reaper", "Father Dead"! No question that the people don't worship him. Just the outcasts of the society indentifies themself sometimes with him.
The stranger walks without a face,
He takes all life, yet leaves no trace,
Whose shrouded hands, they all embrace,
Brings peace to little children.
Ooh I like that one
This wins
❤❤❤
The stranger lies in the unknown,
His grasp is true, his face is stone,
He comes for all, from street to throne,
He shepherds all the children
He shepherds all the children home 🏡🍀❄️✨
Amazing
Shepherds home the children?@@yikesidfk4710
Nice very nice
The Stranger's last to come to mind
Sometimes cruel and sometimes kind
His justice truly judges blind
He embraces all little children
This is the best one I've seen for the Stranger!
Awesome
The Stranger's face remains unknown.
He waits for all from slave to throne.
He's with us until we're all bone.
He guides home little children.
"She lives in every lover's sigh" is just so beautiful. Such a lovely way to think of a Goddess of love
I agree
Compared to Aphrodite, who was more goddess of lust and desire as opposed to love, very much so. Mind, when you think about it, Aphrodite isn't much of a hurdle to clear.

'The Stranger never sheds their tears

My interpretation of the Stranger's verse.
Best one so far
Damn its a great one
The Stranger stands behind them all
with face shrouded from us all
waits for us both great and small
and takes the little children
The stranger passes without trace
with silent step and hidden face
to take us to a better place
So fear not little children
i love this one
The Father's face is stern and strong,
he sits and judges right from wrong.
He weighs our lives, the short and long,
and loves the little children
The Mother gives the gift of life,
and watches over every wife.
Her gentle smile ends all strife,
and she loves her little children
The Warrior stands before the foe,
protecting us where e'er we go.
With sword and shield and spear and bow,
he guards the little children.
The Crone is very wise and old,
and sees our fates as they unfold.
She lifts her lamp of shining gold
to lead the little children.
The Smith, he labors day and night,
to put the world of men to right.
With hammer, plow, and fire bright,
he builds for little children.
The Maiden dances through the sky,
she lives in every lover's sigh.
Her smiles teach the birds to fly,
and gives dreams to little children.
The Stranger is the one unknown
Who watches us from birth to bone
Until their likeness etched in stone
And waits for little children.
The Seven Gods who made us all,
are listening if we should call.
So close your eyes, you shall not fall,
they see you, little children.
Just close your eyes, you shall not fall,
they see you, little children.
The stranger verse fits perfectly

Nope, its all pseudo history what you said, and the Holy Trinity are not three gods in one, they are all one but three.
I'm loving all the verses people are writing for the Stranger! So clever, and they all fit!
Ikr! They’re all perfect 🥰🥰
The best part of the comment section
Me too
The Stranger is both foe and friend
And waits for us at journey's end
The hour isn't known but may be bent
Be ready little children
Perfect
The Stranger's face is blank and bare,
He grants no boon, he heeds no prayer,
Behold his power and despair,
For he spares not little children.
Yes
+Zoë Holt I'm glad you agree 😉
That's perfect!
All pray him in the end of breath

The Stranger is the one unknown

***** Thanks. I've just always wondered what the lyrics for the Stranger would be, and so decided to write my own.
***** Won't work, since Martin doesn't accept fan concepts. Still, thank you for the compliment. ^.^
agreed, love it. and karliene shouldnt the stranger be a bit creepy?
pffft, if his face is unseen, how do you know he has bone eyes? pfffft
What we know is that he is represented with a human skull.
"The Stranger is the one unknown

My version of what the stranger's verse might have been.
I really wish English had a gender-neutral pronoun- it would be perfect for times like these! We don't know whether the Stranger is male or female, do we?
Jess Caron You mean "it"?
Yellan De Greef It is used for things, not people.

I love how there's not supposed to be a song for The Stranger but everyone makes a verse for The Stranger and it's great
“Just close your eyes, you shall not fall, they see you, little children”

He takes the little children.

The stranger shroud is black & deep
They meet all life & makes them sleep
Who breaks all men & has them weep
Brings peaceful ends to children.
The Stranger's face is turned away,
Though he will face us all someday,
It does no good to beg or pray,
When he comes for little children.
The Stranger holds the end of man
He gives sweet rest from life's short span
And though His love beyond our scan
He sleeps the Little Children
The Stranger 's lowest in our hearts
Whose words are neither sweet nor tart
He takes the life both dim and smart
Gives rest to little children
Am I too late for this?
The Stranger takes the form of smoke,
All wrapped inside the blackest cloak,
He brings both death and fear to folk,
And takes our little children...
The Stranger is the God of Death
He watches us with bated breath
Until we're dead and laid to rest
He takes the little children
My own interpretation
I just realised this is as if the Maiden herself is singing the song, since it ends with “so close your eyes you shall not fall” as if she’s lulling them to sleep and she brings dreams to the children
The Stranger bares a face unknown
He watches all from birth to bone
He cares not for slave or for throne
He guides all little children
The Stranger calmly waits for us
To lead us to peace from our lives
He appears when the time is right
To welcome little children
I love how everyone is trying to create their own version for the stranger.
here are my attempts to glorify death and the stranger.
The stranger takes us when we fall,
To his great golden shiny hall,
Bring long sleep to our tired saul
Don't be afraid, oh little children.
or
The stranger gives us final choice,
to take all misery from our life,
All your pain will vanish in a trice,
Just drink this, oh little children.
or
The stranger's hand are long and strong,
So don't run, it won't take too long,
now close your eyes and sing this song,
goodbye, oh, little children.
or
The last one has so many name,
To take his gift so many came,
Now we have come to take the same,
So don't cry, my little children.
or
The stranger's strike is swift and sure,
you can't run, not anymore,
it's time to yield, don't be unsure,
Come to me, oh little children.
Those are so amazing. Everyone had a part where I was like " Wow! That fits my idea of the stranger perfectly.". Thanks for sharing :)
I don’t know why, but hearing that the Father who represents judgement still loves the little children makes me feel glad

The Starks represent each of the Seven Faces of God.

Why are your songs so perfect?
Thank for your beautiful contributions to the fandom!
You took my breath away with this beautiful song! You are a blessing to the world!
Hey Karliene, glad to see you do another GoT song! I absolutely am in love with this rendition of the song, you still have the voice of an angel. Keep up the great work, this truly is a masterpiece and it's perfect.
I seriously don't get how she doesn't have more subs. This is magical.
Ten seconds and this is my favorite channel already.
I feel bad for the Stranger- nobody ever mentions him, except Syrio who's always brushing him off! :)
Seriously. Is there no end to your talent? Whenever you sing, the whole world stops. You have not lost your touch and I don't believe you ever will.
My favourite singer atm
This is simply amazing!!! Also, that background is top notch!
Exactly what i needed when im about to work for 13 hours on a god damn saturday, thank you :)
The Stranger waits for those who breath,
He cares not for fame and wealth,
as he makes the book of death,
he writes the little children.
Just something I thought of while wondering who truly is the god of death in that world.

The Smith- Brynden Rivers
The Stranger- Ramsay Bolton
The Father: Eddard Stark

I feel so ashamed that i haven't found your songs until now. This song made me think of all the great moments i experienced reading the books and for that i thank you.
The stranger is tall, dark and cold
They hold no hate
for young or old
And when you reach your final fate
You won’t be left alone little children
Awaiting the new season and will be so sad when it is over! one of the best shows ever done! You do it justice!
Thanks Karliene for stopping my headache with your voice.
what a beautiful voice i love it !!!
Wow. What a comment to come back to. Please look back at what you wrote and maybe see why that was very much a not okay thing to write.
The Stranger we all forget
but nonetheless he has heart
He's unwanted guest but visits all
And when home is home no more, he'll protect you, children

May the Old Gods and the New bless your beautiful voice. Great song, again!
I love this song, it brings me peace... and hearing you is like hearing an Angel singing... Thanks for this beautiful piece of art ♥
Well done arrangement. Love how others are making their own verse for The Stranger.
The stranger waits us in the gloom
And at his wake impending doom
He puts us all into a tomb
He takes the little children
THIS SONG IS SO GOOD AND FOR WHAT LIKE I WANT IT ON SPOTIFY NOW
i love that all the comments adding a stranger verse have no synchronization to them, they're all different lyrics
Ahhh, so beautiful, as always. I am constantly awed by your seemingly endless talent.
Anything you sing is golden, Karliene. Doubly so for any GoT themed songs because I adore the books and the TV series.
I sat through the whole song with goosebumps. I've missed your Westeros-songs. Looking forward to the next!
This made me extremely sleepy. I adore your voice and your work
You and your voice are true treasures. Many Thanks for your work !!
Dear Karliene ,
At first , I have to tell you : I'm french !
I'm just a ( pretty ) young girl : 15 years old !
I want to learn the english until I'm perfect to this tongue ( so if there are some mistakes , that's totally normal x/ )
I will just say one thing : I love your music !
It's ... how to say ... awesome ! I think it's celtic music , doesn't it ?
In France , there's not this music way ... I'm so saaaaad ... Hapily , you exist :)
I ( there are too much " I " in this message , sorry ) LOVE your songs about Westeros !
So I write my comment under my favourite song (
THis was so pure. I loved it. :)
or
C'etait si pur. J'adore! :)
Apprends-tu toujours l'anglais?
This warms the heart
or
Das erwärmt das Herz.
Learning languages is hard, but knowing it in the end is priceless.
I cannot think when this song is on. I think that's the best compliment I can pay it.
I'm in love with your voice!
I raise my banner to you, Fair lady. Your voice is truly spectacular and surely a gift from the mother and the maiden.
The Stranger is "The Grim Reaper", "Father Dead"! No question that the people don't worship him. Just the outcasts of the society indentifies themself sometimes with him.
Wow. This is beautiful, as usual, Karliene! It's so sad that there's no verse for the Stranger, though, that could've been haunting.
***** Fair enough! It's gorgeous, anyway.
