Awesome. Worth the wait. The way you guys were laughing at the beginning is a reminder of the importance of getting away with friends. I'm overdue. When we've done day trips on the TCAT, we get off at Moody and go through Burnt Lands Provincial Park and my least favorite part is heading back into town on the highway. You did well on the 250, Mellon 1. Is it Sunday, yet? I can't wait to see you riding trails I know. And I want to see what you did with the rain storm. If it's the one I'm thinking of, there was some good flooding. Great video guys.
Exactly! We had so much fun and so many laughs Ron :) Burnt lands is where we picked up the trail and took it all the way to Huntsville. The storm was serious, It may well be the one your thinking about. Cheers Ron :)
Fantastic start to the ride :) loved it :) once again you have edited a sewwt video mate and i for one am waiting for the rest :) keep well and be safe Mr Mason :)
Great video, many giggles had at my house. We are looking to do some travelling on the TCAT some day, as it looks like such a fun way to cross Canada. Just found your channel, had to subscribe as I will be watching more of your videos for sure! 😎
Hi! We found your TCAT trip series a couple days ago, looks like it will be a great adventure! We ride Suzuki DR650's, love dual sport, thanks for sharing.
Haha, well it was close but I called Missus Mason in and she gave it the green light ;) Man, I was laughing my butt off editing this but most hit the cutting room floor ;) Cheers man!
Man, that is a great video! Here in the town I live in we have a company that tows called Camel Towing. There are some really great names for towing companies, another great one is A Toe Truck down in Quartzsite Arizona.
Awesome video as always man, Ottawa's surely a beautiful city, I live here also and would never go anywhere else. Winter will surely be long without being able to ride., love your videos alot, looking into getting my first dual sport ( Suzuki dr650). Thanks for the great videos and keep up the awesome work !!
Awesome video! Looking forward to seeing more of the trip :D BTW, a properly maintained and running bone-stock (with stock 14x40 gearing) 2016 CRF250L will do a GPS confirmed 86MPH, maybe a bit more, and that's with racks and (empty) side boxes and top case and a windshield, at least at eastern Tennessee elevation (you can look back through my videos prior to June 30 last year for video proof)
thanks for watching! I'll let melon field your comment due to the gearing. his is stock and he doesn't weigh much but did have his camping gear on and pinned we got 77 mph on the flat. no windshield on his just him in tuck :D Good times!
Att-A-Wah.... I've been to Ottawa... Illinois. ;) Too much fun! Now that I have a KLR, I'm looking forward to finding local riding spots and maybe some buddies to ride with. On my Harleys, I pretty much always ride alone but on the ZZR I had some great riding buddies until I had to go back to school out of state. I'll be tuned in for it all.
This makes me sad that i traded my KLR away. Love the adventure with good friends. You know its gonna be a great trip when you are laughing a ton before the real adventure starts.
Great video as always, just sold my cruiser and got a new to me V-Strom 1000. your videos were the final push to convince me to go ADV side. doing all the maintenance to get it ready for the spring. I cant wait. Thanks Masons ADV for the great videos and experience. maybe ill meet you one day. Until then Ride Safe and enjoy the road less traveled.
@@masonsadv I have a buddy that wants to do Manitoulin, i remember watching your video a while back. Did you have any tips for planning it out or doing it, anything i should plan or look at/book ahead of time?
The ferry has been very busy so I recommend reserving your times both up and back even though they are great with the bikes. Other than that, the whole Island is great to explore and the lighthouse out on the far west end is a must see in my book. Camping is available there too and fuel is available in Meldrum bay now I hear. Have fun! Lots to see and explore up there :)
👍 Hey liked the video, looking forward to the rest. Usually your first with my coffee ☕️ on Sunday morning, but I had to watch the highlights of the supercross 1st 😉. Sorry.
Great videos Mason. I just found your channel and binge watched all the vids. I live in the country west of Ottawa and love the area between here and Calabogie. What did you use for map resources for the TCAT and how did you load your GPS?
Yeah Chris, that's exactly what happened. I was kind of dreading the road day but it wasn't bad at all and a great run for the bikes. Sure cleans them out :) Cheers!
Mason.... love the channel, tons of people say KLRs don't go over 110kms... and you guys mentioned going 130 km/h... have you done anything special to your KLR (i have some some of the videos with your upgrades) if so which is the one upgrade that gets you that solid hwy performance.... just curious.
Hey Leo :) Thanks for watching! I have done the KLX needle kit, I keep the valves adjusted to max spec and run a Uni air filter but I haven't done anything to the motor or exhaust. The KLR is stretching it's legs at 130 kmph for sure but with good tires it will roll 120 kmph all day on the highway (I have the 15 tooth sprocket on too). Different setups on suspension, tires, the way the bike is loaded, all make a difference in stability and handling though so each rider may have different results. Cheers :)
I was so pumped after seeing this i jumped on my Africa twin and went out for a ride despite the bad weather here in Belgium, it felt sooooo good... 😍😎
Great job from Vermont Guys! Your videos get me through the off season:) What kind of phone mount are your using on the KLR's? I am looking for one to put in the same spot.
Thanks, Rob, Editing these gets me through the offseason too ;) We swear by the ram mount spring loaded holder. Never had a phone come lose :) Cheers! amzn.to/2VyV33d
Yea whatever I'm just waiting for it to warm up . Nice to see a new video of people enjoying themselves LOL . While my XR sits in the garage and 20 degrees outside.LOL> Looks like fun I guess. I'll stop whining really though nice video. It's great being with buds laughing and riding.""RIDE ON""
Umm, I think you missed the part where I said winter is here :) Like you, the snow is on the ground, the bikes are snuggled up under their blankets and I'm stuck at my desk editing all the fun we had in the summer :) Haha, It is great and I can't wait for spring! Hang in there and Cheers Eagle Rider!
The days are actually getting longer spring is coming. .Do you have experience with that Garmin inReach does it work well I'm looking at them I want one before spring. But not sure which one to get.""RIDE ON"" look forward to pt2

Looks like lots of construction. Filling the 701 with fuel is an absolute no for me. The 701 and the CRF would be miserable on the butt for that mileage on the pavement.
Yes, lot's of construction. I can't personally comment on the comfort of either but everyone seemed to be ok. as for the fueling, I totally agree! Cheers, Jared :)
