    Just took delivery of mine in Australia last week:
    Magic Mushroom Diesel base model with:
    -rear panel body (no windows)
    -Roo Bar
    -Brush Rails
    -Rock Sliders
    -17” Steel wheels (upgraded to BFG KM3 mud terrain 285/70)
    -dual battery
    -raised air intake
    -high load switch panel
    -locking front and rear differentials
    -cloth seats
    -rubber floor mats
    -heated seats (must have)
    -utility rail exterior & interior
    -tow package
    -Safari windows
    I’ve added:
    -Front Runner roof rack
    -awning
    -side panels (for extra fuel carriage and maxtrax)
    -drawers and fridge slide in rear trunk space.
    I opted to omit the factory winch option. Wasn’t happy with only a 10m winch spool.
    This vehicle is built for touring Australia’s vast outdoors, and with the accessories its capabilities are increased.
    Be purposeful in your configuration, buy what you think you’ll need, because you likely wont have the option to add it later.

    Magic mushroom Trialmaster (2024) with safari windows. Added the fender pads and rock rails at the dealer, but both are available as aftermarket items. Particulatly like the White Knuckle rock rails, because they have a kickout at the back, and you can use them as steps into the vehicle. Other offerings coming soon from other aftermarket manufacturers. The dealer roof rack blocks the safari windows. Went with a Front Runner full sized rack. You can open the safari windows with all the roof rack bars in place, or you can omit two crossbars to leave the area above the windows clear. Went for full length rack because we have a 270 degree foxwing awning that needs the support.
    Omitted winch. The stock winch is pricey, has only 16 meters of rope, and several companies already offer a winch and frame which installs where the factory winch goes. Less money, great Comeup winch.
    Immedately replaced the stock cubby in the rear door with a GP Factor drop down table, which includes a more useable cubby space. A superb piece of kit.
    The color is the same as most of the dirt in Idaho. Hard to tell if my rig is dirty. Plus, its a great color for this vehicle.
    A popular local option is a 2” lift and 34” tires, which is highly functional in terms of improving approach and departure angles..and the still marginal breakover angle…and is esthetically very pleasing.
    This replaces my 80 series LC, which I loved for 23 years. It is a better vehicle. Worth the money, worth the wait.

    Went to look at the vehicle the other day and took it for a drive. Loved it.
    Unfortunately, the manager would not give me a price on the vehicle I had selected b/c I had said I wasn’t buying that day.
    WOW!

      Wow. Thanks for sharing this. It's sad to hear when car dealers behave like, well, car dealers. Normally you could drive a little further and visit the next dealer, but not so with INEOS. i don't know if you were looking for a deal off MSRP as most who bought recently paid MSRP less any advertised incentive that was on offer. I've not heard of any fire sales. That's still no excuse for unhelpful treatment. Thanks for commenting.

    I configured one years back and excitedly waited to be able to order it, but when the prices were finally announced I ended up canceling it - being retired, I couldn’t risk that much cash on a first generation vehicle. I've had some level of regret ever since - it’s a beautiful machine.

    • @MyAutomobileObsession
      @MyAutomobileObsession  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks for commenting. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you - it's a lot for a first generation, but I fear that regret if I pass. It looks like I will have to make that decision later this week.

      I did the same when the prices rose to £76k. Just picked up a 10 month old Fieldmaster for £52k - mint and 4 years warranty. That’s about what I was prepared to pay when it was announced.

      I agree. My wife likes the speed alert as in her Tesla but the sound is a POOR choice IMHO. To us it sounds just like a loud Blinker noise for the turn signal. A tone/bell/different noise would be less confusing.

    Picked up an all inky black Trialmaster midweek after first driving a demo last August. Usual 12 months of thought and consideration but Ronny Dahl and Andrew White confirmed the off-road abilities. First run today on Victorian (Australia) forest trails and some gnarly windy gravel. 😊 wow
    Soaks up everything and all of the lazy on road steering issues just disappear. A real testament to considered off- design.
    It was ex demo so didn’t get a choice of the heated seats.
    All this aside. They still turn heads as a very unique looking vehicle.

    Green with white roof, same as the Series 109 Station wagon I built. Heated seated and trailer hitch are a must have. I think not having a heated steering wheel is a mistake.

    I like the shale blue, inky black, or sela green.

    • @MyAutomobileObsession
      @MyAutomobileObsession  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All good choices. My favorite is the Sela Green out of those three, but if you can, you should make a trip to a dealer now that Grenadiers exist for you to see up close. The configurator doesn't convey the entire essence of some of the colors and seeing them up close or seeing them in videos or photos online will help to solidify your choice. Good luck!

    The privacy glass may not be required if you add one of the many after market external storage racks that cover the rear side windows. I have optioned additional fuel/water storage for remote travel.
    The rubber mats are very good and the carpet mats are a rip off.
    The trialmaster with auxiliary battery and pre wired electrical fittings is terrific.
    I would opt for the eibach spring 40mm lift (you only require the eibach supplied springs, the existing shocks are fine) you can also opt up to a 305/75R17 if you like bigger tyres. You need an aftermarket spare wheel bracket with this.
    Side steps are a must.
    The bull bar is also a very good option.
    You will need to the rear ladder to access gear and wash your car as the vehicle is quite tall and wide so you can’t reach anything on the middle of the roof.
    The raised air intake is a good option if you drive in dusty environments.

    • @MyAutomobileObsession

    So know lockers on the Field master?

    • @MyAutomobileObsession
      @MyAutomobileObsession  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for commenting! On the Fieldmaster, you have to order lockers as an option if you want them. It's called the Rough Pack - which includes front and rear. The Trialmaster includes them as standard. Basically, the price on Trialmaster / Fieldmaster is the same, and they just mix in different options to add up to the price. The Trialmaster having more off-road features and the Fieldmaster having more Luxury (Leather seats, premium audio, etc.) Most extras from one are available as an add-on to the other - just boosts the price, of course!

    You need to get the auxiliary wiring as well as it can't be added easily afterwards. You also can't add the diff locks afterward as they have different diff housings.

      @@MyAutomobileObsession Front/Rear diff lockers would be first thing I'd look for when eventually buying a used model, if it wasn't a 'trialmaster', Luggage and side rails, Aux electrics all a must.
      Leather seats would be good, heated also(but not a deal breaker on used),
      The following- Rear ladder, Towbar, Raised air intake, rocksliders/steps, roof rack are all things that can be added later if buying used, my emphasis on used is because I don't think I could ever afford the NEW price, based in GB or UK as GB for some reason has been dropped.

  • @jamesiversen
    @jamesiversen 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The one thing I'm confused about: when you configure with the auxiliary battery, you can't get the 400W power take off option. You have to deselect one to get the other. Seems to me, you'd want the auxiliary battery to run accessories (like a fridge) when not running the vehicle. The PTO option mentions the addition of 120/230V plugs in the 2nd row and loadspace area, but the auxiliary battery option seems to only get the standard 12V outlet in the loadspace (along with some USBs in the 2nd row).
    Unless I'm missing something...?

      Great question and I don't want to steer you wrong. You can submit an e-mail for a written response from INEOS if you go to their website and click on Contact. I would prefer you to hear the answer from INEOS and not a dealer who may not yet have seen a vehicle come through with the options configured with the power adds. Thanks for your comment!

    Which one is better, Granadier or G Wagon?

    • @MyAutomobileObsession
      @MyAutomobileObsession  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Thanks for commenting. Aside from the obvious boxy shapes, they are very different in that the G-Wagon is highly refined and quite a luxury experience. The Grenadier, while still solid and refined, is built with the notion of off-road first, so you won't find some of the conveniences that you might in the G-Wagon. The G-Wagon is almost twice the price, too. In the end, this really boils down to matter of preference and opinion and what you're looking to get from the experience. To me, the Grenadier has more character.
