- My year as a first year radiology resident (R1) is well on its way. Balancing family life and learning radiology took some figuring out, but I think I have a better handle on it now. Still struggling though :( I just wanted to share my typical day as a resident who just started to help those who are interested in radiology. Radiology has a surprising amount of procedures, and I got to do one for the first time! I hope you find this video helpful.

I just found this channel, and I love it. I’m about to become a Radiologic Technologist and I loveeee this field, I’m going to get my degree to become a Radiologist assistant. What time do you leave work? Before 4pm?? Also can u plz do a video explaining a week schedule like how many hours each day, how many days etc?
I will make that video. its program dependent for sure but its generally during "business hours" unless you are on call. Its basically like any shift work
Is your residency program modality based rather than system based? Which do you think is best for residents?
It's both modality and system based, but some are more modality heavy. Generally ultrasound and plain films (xray) cover many systems. CT and MRI are one system at a time. I think most hospitals (thus the residency program) work like this.
Just met a guy going to Mayo Clinic at Rochester last week ha. I’m edging towards becoming a medical doctor, I’m a pre-nursing student.. thinking using it as my undergrad, any thoughts ?

Do you have radiology classes in medical school? Or study radiology only in the residency?
Usually radiology is integrated with anatomy. There may be options to rotate through diagnostic or interventional radiology later as electives. However, radiology is part of every field, so there is always opportunity to learn!
