hi! new to your channel. just wanted to make a quick note in case nobody’s said or you’re unaware, but for notebook paper quality ( like the pen and gear memo book you got for cheap at walmart ) depends on where it was made!
i ONLY get notebooks that say made in vietnam or india. i’ve heard that in vietnam, it’s still standard to use fountain pens in school, so their paper will always be fountain pen friendly. i use fountain pens and a lot of other gel pens and highlighters in note-taking, so paper made in vietnam is a must for me. this applies to really cheap notebooks, like ones i’ve found in the dollar store. where they’re made matters quite a bit!
Omg!! Thank you for letting us know! I had no idea and thanks for stopping by the channel! ❤️❤️❤️
Omg! You are 100% accurate on this. I grew up in VN and used FP when I first learned to write. It never occurred to me that - yes, their paper was definitely FP friendly!
@@b.l70 it’s good to know the claims aren’t unsubstantiated! i’m very, very big on notebooks and journals because i prefer studying with handwritten notes over digital materials, so i get very picky with what notebook paper i use. i don’t remember why i stumbled across it, but one day when i was poking around the internet for more notebook recommendations that could handle a lot of ink, i came across a reddit post where a handful of people made the claim. i had assumed from that alone that it was true solely because every notebook i have used that has been made in vietnam has been incredible with fountain pens.
If the notebook feels disposable, what I write in it will also feel disposable
Yesss! That’s such a good way to put it!
Out of my LV, Moterm or TN Notebook covers, my favorites is the TN and the simple clear covers from Kokuyo & Hobonichi. I like the light weight. I also enjoy making my own paper covers for the clear covers. It adds a nice personal touch w/o adding much extra cost.
I agree! I love love love TNs, is that what you’re using this year? And what size do you use?
I love the passport size too. I got this cover called "Moterm Companion Traveler's Notebook Cover". It is my every day wallet. I love that you can carry so much in it and it has a pen loop. Great vid!
Ooo yes! I have one of those! They are great!
I totally get what you mean about finding it weird to pull out your TN at work! I'm fully switching away from my TN next year because of that -- ended up using other notebooks at work throughout this year just because I felt embarrassed about using my TN there for some reason!
Ok I’m glad it’s not just me! lol what notebook did you end up going with??
@@MomYePlans HAHA yes, it's definitely not just you! Although I haven't found anyone else who feels the same way as we do 🌚
I ended up switching back to a Cousin as my main planner/journal and a Weeks as my EDC -- the Weeks is what I'll be using at work and somehow that feels more appropriate!
The Holborn is so cute. I think it has the best card/ pocket configuration.
I’d also like to point out that the Filofax zip has rfid protection material. I’ve really wanted one for a while. I like that you can use the provided rings or your weeks if you’re going that route.
You have a lot of great options! Keep us posted on what you choose.
Thanks for the tips!
The dated Kinbor Weeks is my FAVORITE!!
Omg just got it and it’s sooo good!
The quality of the dated version of Kinbor weeks is much better than the undated (52g vs 80g). 😉
Omgggg yess! I just received mine and I’m literally shocked
TN Passport for sure
TN passport has my heart! ❤️
I've made a startling discovery lately. I seem to never buy hardback novels - I always choose paperbacks - and this got me to thinking: is this why I never use the hardback planners (Erin Condren, Happy Planner etc) I've bought? I made lots of dividers, dashboards, pockets etc but they've been sitting in the sideboard for years, unused because all my planners are hardback, so I rooted out my ONE Filofax A5 soft cover planner - and immediately I sprang into action filling it! So weird. Anyone else like me?
