    Who doesn't like POV driving videos? I can never get bored watching them! Best way to show to your viewers how a car drives and gives a somewhat interactive/immersive experience 👍 I've seen other POV driving youtube channels that mount their cameras too high (like on their forehead), so I really do appreciate the way you positioned the camera low - its as great as how TheTopher, Tedward and WindingRoad Magazine shoot their videos. Keep up the great work man!

    • @CarThought
      @CarThought  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good memory! In fact I changed the environment that I drive the car in, the Khumos are pretty decent in warm weather, the sidewalls fall over quite a bit on track, very odd sensation, but I only noticed this when pushing really hard. I would imagine it would be a lot more noticeable now that the sways and coilovers are on. But now, the car doesn't get driven in anything other than dry conditions (unless absolutely necessary). On the road at least, the Khumos are more than capable (as you can see in this video).

    I love my NC Mk3 but wish it had the LSD when it comes to the curves and safety. It blows my mind why they decided to put an open differential in one of the best cornering vehicles just because it's an automatic. A lot of people have battle wounds from life in the knees and would still love performance in the automatics.

    I know a lot of people say the "oil gauge" in the middle of the dash doesn't really mean much, but whenever I rev the engine on 1st or 2nd, the oil gauge goes really high. What's your opinion on it?

    • @CarThought
      @CarThought  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s calculated based on engine rpm, so it’s not an actual reading.. aka not any use whatsoever 😂🤷‍♂️

    I don't know why everyone hates on the mk3... I think because its a bit more of a muscular design people get the impression it's heavy but Mazda did a lot of work to bring the weight of the car down and perfect weight distribution as they always do. Plus the added creature comforts are nice I think... I live in Australia and mx5's are 3 times the price here for pretty much any generation, if I head back to the UK soon these seem like amazing value now and way more fun than 90% of other cars

      Hi! I've tried a clip-on attachment for the gopro in my NC (w/ power hardtop, no idea if it makes a difference). I'm not all that tall but that setup hits the roof every time, too. He might not have any issues with this because of the lowered seats. Would love to know if there's anything else you have done @Car Thought :)

      @CarThought  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi both, sorry it’s taken so long to reply. GoPro with a clip onto the underside of the peak of a baseball cap, with the camera mounted so it sits in line with your eyes 👍

      @@CarThought Thanks for your reply! C'mon you already make some banger videos for free, there's no obligation to answer comments haha :D I wear glasses, so I can only put the camera on my forehead with this method. But I'm starting to like the NC again, and I particularly like the design of the NC1. The NC also rusts, but not as extrem as the NB and, apart from the problem with the thermostat, is a very solid car.
    I don't drive the NB myself, I bought it for my mother as a birthday gift. I have only recently made my driving license and I'm currently driving a VW up! with 60 hp for the transition, because I want a sports car that suits me and that I can use all year round. Usual rust on the rear arches and going to get gearbox and diff oil changed soon as not sure if it a service item and 155,000 probably needs it with new fully synthetic. Thanks for this video, it made this car more desirable again, but on the contrary to other opinions the camera mount was only by a hair low, as it would be better to see more of the road than the dashboard, and the sharp movements (of the camera) causes nasea to me, so I prefer a fix point to mount it. Cheers!
