And then you just pay triple what everyone else pays on taxes just so u can say u make 100k a year. It's all bullshit. 80k a year and 40 hrs a week is all u need in life.
I’ve been trucking for only a year, home daily but I used to be OTR and I always got so nervous when I had deliveries in areas like this, you couldn’t pay me enough to go back OTR.
I have a buddy that started trucking a few years before Covid. Now he makes 80k (with his modest lifestyle and dirt cheap home). He saved enough money to pay cash for his and his wife’s dream car, got full off grid solar, almost has his children’s college/career accounts loaded, and has started putting money into an IRA. His only complaint is he is working long hours and rarely sees his family.
@ it took him less than 6 months to get his CDL (he took his time). He applied to a few small companies and took the highest pay offered. He got hired within a week after applying. Don’t know if it’s the same today.
But you left out the part about the Truck. What if it breaks down, or the Morter gives out, or you need to put gas in it every week or so because of all them long distances. All that going to be well over 20 to 30k😢
@@KaiRunner-b6nI know truck drivers who have exclusive deals with fuelers where they pay cheap prices. Plus owning the truck takes out the repairing part. And Insuarance covers are breakdowns but it’s usually 1600$ a month. And the fuel is sometimes covered by the company. If not then the trucker who owns the truck can charge a higher price for it because the company doesn’t have to loan a truck to someone and worries less about maintainence
Which is about what a lot of owner operators make after all their expenses. They usually say what they make before accounting for the thousands of dollars a month in fuel/insurance/maintenance/repairs that they pay.

Life in Europe sucks. Taxes are high, jobs are few, healthcare is hard to access because it’s clogged. The streets are dangerous as it’s hard to protect yourself. Schooling isn’t as widely available
Depends on the states you're in but in New York State it's 70-90k/year before taxes. 80-90k for the long haulers starting and 120k-300k/year for owner operator.
I believe this, if you own the truck. I know someone who makes $200k+/yr as a truck driver, but he owns his truck outright.
I wonder how much of that goes to the trucks maintenance a year, and I wonder if he pays for the gas as well. (Unlikely probably)
