  • As they are perhaps the most significant events of Jesus’s life, when the crucifixion and resurrection will take place in The Chosen is a big concern for fans of the show, including me. I wonder when these major events will be shown on the screen and if Dallas Jenkins and his team will manage to pull them off.
Are you happy with how Dallas is depicting the events of Jesus’s life? Did you want to see the baptism or the transfiguration? Tell me in the comments below.

I would have loved to see him baptized by his cousin John the Baptizer. That's a pretty important piece in Jesus's life.

I would love to see the transfiguration. It validates Jesus's divinity.

I loved the fact that The Chosen showed the human side of Jesus with his ability to have fun and not just enactments of scripture. I would liked it if the Chosen had the full Sermon on the Mount.

Even just a flashback on Jesus's baptism would be great. And hopefully, the Transfiguration be included as well. I know Dallas and his team can make this possible like the walking on water. Continue the good work Dallas, casts and crews of The Chosen. God bless. 🙏🙏🙏

Yes. I was thinking that brief, tanatalizing flash backs might be on the cards. Memories.

Dallas Jenkins is a very thoughtful and articulate writer and director. People, decent Godly people don't riot. I'm sure this will be tastefully done. Love The Chosen ❤

If the story is done scripturally, it will show the good, the bad and the ugly. So far, Dallas has done an excellent job. Jesus was a man, flesh and blood until after His crucifixion. I'm excited to see Season 4.🙏😁

I think a flashback of Jesus's baptism would be pretty cool. Also that would be awesome to see the transfiguration in some form, even if it's just showing the light shining out towards the watching Apostles. I'd like to see Dallas's depiction of those events. I thank God for the amazing gift that he's given this guy and his team.

I love this show. I know my word, so it's fun to imagine it while seeing most of it on screen. This was a fun & cool creation to see.❤ The closer to the Bible, the better, ♡of course!

Jesus walking on water was so beautifully done I take it as given they will do the rest. If Dallas says otherwise, likely he's just lowering expectations in order to maximize admiration the he does it.

It would have been really nice to see John and Jesus together at the baptism.

It was a shame that we didn't see The Baptism, but as it was where Andrew was brought to Jesus, we did hear about it. So that was better than nothing.
I suspect that may be the approach with The Transfiguration too. DJ found a way to show The Walking On Water, and it was an amazing scene. But I imagine that The Transfiguration would be even harder to get looking just right.
Very often when Jesus has asked people not to talk about something, they've ended up doing so, anyway. So maybe this is what will happen. Simon/Peter James and John are asked not to talk about what they've seen on the mountain with Jesus. But I could easily see Simon/Peter and John finding that really hard. If they don't tell the whole group. I can imagine Simon/Peter telling Eden, and John telling Salome and Zeb.

Wow...I was truly hoping for the Transfiguration, to include the actor that played Moses Ina previous episode...

Oh yes, good point. I suspect it might be a flashback, not the whole event, but a few moments. Don't Moses and Elijah talk about Jesus' Passion?

I have no doubt that Dallas will “pull it off” the crucifixion.

This series is different in that it depicts what life would've been like for Jesus and the Apostles in the 1st Century.
    In the time and place.
If you want to see the Passion and Resurrection of Our Lord, I suggest you watch The Passion Of The Christ.

It only makes sense to show the crucifixion according to the guidelines shown already.

My most major concern and questioning for The Chosen is that it does not show Jesus's God-nature like he continually showed his disciples in real life. When you cut the godliness from Jesus you allow there to be even more reason for the Devil to thwart the minds of men into thinking that Jesus is just a human or just a prophet. They definitely need to start incorporating more of Christ Jesus' mightiness; their depiction of Christ's human and love is phenomenal but Jesus is God not just our friend. Without this shown to the world definitely and deliberately and shamelessly/boldly, he would be depicted no better than Moses or Elijah.

The godliness of Jesus hasn't been cut at all. It is being shown in how different His answers and behaviors are to the disciples, others, and then their evolving reactions to Him. He is different from anyone else, and that was a shocker to others. He grows on them as they continue to move with Him! Who can this man possibly be, and where does he get such knowledge and compassion? Even as he did a miracle, it was 'how can this be' until they begin to understand. That is how it is in real life for all of us!!! Godliness is shown for example, when he looked back at Matthew, and Matthew leaves his post (that he had been so obsessive about!) and when he spoke to Mary about her past. She breaks down, and he envelops her as the lonely lamb she's been. I've seen season 4 in the theatre. This time we'll see the figure of the lamb, but I'm not giving it away. This entire series is exceptionally well done and has brought many people to Him in whatever individual way He is to reach them. For others who question, wait and see! It's up to us what we absorb and understand about Him.

Please please get this right for the crucifixion. Jesus did NOT say "Father, why have You abandoned me?" He said "Father, why are You not coming to save me?" Father replied "Death is the dress of life". Also, Jesus initially was in tremendous pain and asked Father why he had to suffer. Father replied "You and I are one, We are not two". Jesus achieved nondualism and did NOT suffer pain after that.
