Hey Ryan, thanks for being willing to make mistakes and being willing to share the journey with us! Your ability to narrate, interact, and edit your videos is pure entertainment. I can’t wait each week for your next upload!
i'm someone who likes things to be a perfect as i can make them. This kind of keeps me from starting a lot of things because I dont think i'll be able to make it well enough. Your attitude towards projects reminds me to just go for it and accept imperfection. Thanks for that.
Yayyy time to watch the Worm!!! My favorite time of the week. I get my favorite blanket and a coffee and enjoy the progress of the Worm Camp. Smart, funny, innovative, talented, and hard working man!
So LAST WEEK while hunting I thought I could listen to the episode with only one earbud in and still hunt. NOPE! I was so involved, one of the biggest bucks I've seen snuck within 15 yards of me unnoticed, winded me...and was gone. RINGWORM!!!
Found you when I had Covid twice in Aug. Your Dry humor keep me from going insane while i was recovering. Thank you for sharing your journey!! I think it so amazing what you can do with those tools. I now prefer Utube real folks than reg tv. Somehow watching others build seems like im learning with you. So keep growing for us stuck in the normal rat race.
I like watching your videos because there’s no drama no cursing I can let my grandchildren watch and you know what you doing you’re very entertaining thank you and I’ll continue to watch ✌🏻👍
The GF dropped the SH word and I realized how much I appreciated that it’s not a regular part of his videos. Always a positive twist with his content. But agree 100% with your sentiment
Ryan, the sealer you got on will serve its purpose for the winter and next summer after everything is warm and dried out you might hit it all again. And if its not to late 😅 maybe you leave the porch posts uncut and consider incorporating them into a railing system of some kind
You know, from time to time I think of suggestions that could save you some work and then I think why? He's haven fun and I keep quiet. Looks awesome! :)
Fix that muffler on your chainsaw, Ryan. I've had 2 come apart and end up shucking internal parts into the cylinder of my MS290 saw. If you need a new muffler, get and OEM Stihl muffler. The chinese ones from amazon fall apart internally and end up sucking parts inside the engine cylinder and ruining the saw. Just a heads up!
Hi Ryan! Been watching U build your cabin. Thought I would say--STOP RUNNING YOURSELF DOWN--U are doing a very professional job. I just love the cabin & your dad loved it to. He seems like a nice man. Maybe one of these days U could show your mom. Who do U look like--mom or dad. Take good care of yourself. I worry about U sometimes out there by yourself. I know U like to camp but I'll feel better knowing U can be in out of the real cold & bad weather now. Be safe--keep building & God Bless. Phoenix (Haven't heard anymore from those scammers on your channel).😄👍💪👀🐿🧇❄☃
Great video as always, Ryan! I think if your going to continue doing this for the foreseeable future, a wood storage building would be worth the time for you.
I really(!) like your "spur of the thought" out-of-the-box thinking process!!! If one way doesn't work...come up with another!!!😁 btw... I saw a guy put a nail/screw in each end of the door... rest those on the horses...paint one side, flip it...paint the other side!!!😍
I don't understand why you are asking viewers for advice. There is plenty of advice about everything here in the comments. 😜 Awesome job Ryan! Thanks for the videos ! 57.6K
Of course we watched the last Episode. Sweet! I Live maybe 200 Miles to the East of you, looked at the weather for the next 2 weeks, not bad! You may get some 50 degree Days coming in December. Love the Channel Bro! Always Wondering what Ryan is up to!
I really enjoy watching you come up with your own solutions - there are no end of 'correct' ways of doing it but it's refreshing to see you work - creative and fun
As usual just so entertaining and I liked the extra time with you. Just throw whatever you got at this buddy. I know you won’t quit til it suits you just so….. Another fun morning with our bud. BTW I talk to you all the time and you don’t answer me either. Best part of my Saturday as always.
Ryan: good job man! 100% perfection is hard to reach in the building trades. You can install or repair anything! It’s been proven over the past 3-4-5 years man. I’ve followed since day 1: my conclusion… you get the job done, turns out very good and your creativity is off the charts…. Sure like to see the inside get some insulation installed and boarded👍 Then you will be very close to living inside 😊 B Deacon Manitoba Canada 🇨🇦
Was super surprised you uploaded/posted early! No complaints here though. Love your "Ah what the heck I'll do it the way I want and get it up now!" Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving day! 🦃
Mhhh your Idea for the woodstorage in the First Part of the Video is nice ...maybe Something Like the shed where you Store your fourweehler ...Just 4 or 6 big Posts in the Ground a simple roof No Platform but some 2x4 acriss the Posts in diffrent higths...Like shelves ...you could even get it sorted / bords sepreate from beams ect ... ....your lumber ist away from the Ground, dry ,and stored straight ... And with your Speed of building you would build IT quite quick ibguess .. only Like 6 foot wide and 12 Long ...and you would have more storage Keep it Up i love your Channel and your Videos Greetings from a German logger and arborist ✌️
Love the color that the Thompson on there. We did our wood fence and man does it really soak it up. We used a lot more than it said we would. Looking so good!! I’d live out there in a heart beat!
I look forward to your videos every week . ive never been to your part of the country, but ive been close .when its cold and wet in Texas. i expect its really cold there. Ilove your cabin build and wish you all the best . KEEP up the GREAT WORK
Watching this video again and you said you'd love to have a place to store lumber. It'd be awesome to see you build something 1/3 the size as the screened in deck for just storing lumber scraps! Maybe as an ode to the first videos, with big, weird logs. More of a longhouse or somethin!
Run a temp-install wood stove in that cabin and heat it up hot. You’ll dry the paint on the door and also allow the water seal to soak into the siding.
He will never run any kind of wood stove. Been watching a long time and this is never going to happen. People have said it over and over. It would be ideal as there are a dozen project he could do using firewood. Yet its never going to happen. If I recall he said that it takes so much time to cut fire wood. While that is nearly not true as much scrap as he has burnt and logs that he has already cut up. If he spent 2 weeks thinning out and cutting up firewood he would have more than enough for several years. All of his lumber off cuts would be a huge amount to add to the stack. The same thing goes with a saw mill and properly stacking and letting the lumber dry. He covers all of that lumber with a tarp yet he does not stack the lumber so that it can dry out. Which is why he is going to use so much caulk fixing every gap in the shed/cabin. With the amount of money he has I would look and buy a Lucas sawmill ( swing blade sawmill ) and then find a small skid steer with aux hydrulics with a grapple for picking up the logs. He will be able to cut up so much lumber and stack it that he could build for ages.
@@kameljoe21 he has said most of the wood he uses is cedar and its not good for burning . now im sure it burns like crazy and really fast and hot . but here is the deal anyone who really burns wood for heat will tell you any kind of pine wood including cedar is dangerous to burn as your main source of wood . its good as a starter cause it burns fast and hot . but it is also full of pine sap that stuff burns and creates creosol in your stove pipe . if you get a pipe fire it could burn down your house depending on how bad it gets . i think that is the main reason he dont burn it for fire wood . really you need good hard wood to make any real long lasting heat . we always burned oak and black cherry for fire wood . kills me to think how much beautiful wood we burned up over the years back then .
Thank you so much for posting something! Seems like everyone else decided the hell with followers I’m enjoying Thanksgiving the followers be damned. I mean it thank you for your post!
YES! Cut a big "U" in that log, mill the top, and call it a Ringworm Coffee Table. You can add a board to the bottom if there is any weird deflection, which there probably will be.
I definitely enjoy your videos. I think the table idea would be really cool. Of course, it would have to have your spin put on it. I know you said that log is too big to mill with your chainsaw, and while it might be if you milled straight through the whole thickness of it. What if you milled off as much as you can get the bar through, turn it 180 degrees so that the flat is sitting on the ground, then mill off as much off the top as you can again. then turn the log 90 degrees so that the milled pieces are now the sides. Then you won't have such a thick log to deal with and maybe your bar could make it through. You wouldn't have the live edge, but you would still have good lumber.
Hi Ryan I know you are more instalacion as me. I Like to see front full patio then just door way. please change your mine and make full patio it will look good .
I like water base paint. I was peeling off the bucket. and it was like rubber. Excellent protection. I don't let weather stop me from doing things! I got things to do inside, as well as out side

Hey Ryan, Love your channel, my wife Connie and I watch you every week. 2 thoughts: 1) you have enough roofs now to harvest rainwater in the spring through fall: 2) If you dome the concrete and give the water a chance to not pool around the posts, the posts will last twice as long (maybe until you're 50, LOL) Keep up the Adventure!
Don't place wood post in the cement they will rot quick. It the post on the pad with a shingle on the bottom. Cabin looks great, can't wait for the screen porch and wood shed.
Set the two posts and have the bottom steps cantilever out and float above the ground. Then you would only need to pour the two post locations. Might need to do some shims during winter for the ground heaving up and falling during the summer as the ground dries out.
Ryan, the cabin looks even more beautiful with the sealer, sort of on 😉 Its gonna be gorgeous. Thanks for the videos. John here from that back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee.
Great start on the stairs! And the water seal looks great on the siding. Hope for the best, as it warms up, that material should cure, just like the door!
Hi buddy how are ya? I hope you are well! Another fantastic video! I really enjoy hanging out with you at the ring worm! It’s funny my wife says “ hey Ryan is so productive and gets stuff done and look what he has to do”. I’ve been milling Timbers for a post and beam addition to my shop I have stood anything up yet cuzz I have to move the junk pile and flatten the ground first, but other stuff gets in the way of productivity, like milling stuff for her projects and snow firewood production. Oh well I’ll get to it. I’m retireded so not in a big hurry hehehe. Thanks for all you share and do. God bless you and yours. See ya next week, I’m stuck on vacation in the Philippines. Kinda would like to be back home in the woods but let’s not tell the Mrs. hehehe

If you put mote stickers with some about 1 in from the end and weight on the top, they will be dead flat without cupping and end ones will arrest end cracks. Cabin is awesome.
You could build a fire near the new poles and keep burning building scraps. that should help warm the place up a bit, possibly enough for the paint inside to dry
If you want a cheap but extremely effective water sealer mix tube of clear silicone with two gallons of mineral spirits, you can make sheets hold water with the stuff
Yo Ryan, tar the end of your post when you place it on the concrete so the posts don't rot. If you look @ the cabin posts, they're already leeching moisture into them from the concrete.
Ryan How about the level that the tent is on for the boards ??? All you need is a LARGE TARP OVER IT !!! Then you can pick and pick away on it for lumber !!! It would be the lumber yard for you and in between a area that you can put nails and screws !!! I DO TOO GIVE YOU FEED BACK !!! Can't you hear me Ryan ??? I have said it time & time again !!! Lets have a apple and peanut butter or better yet french toast for us to eat !!! Oh You got to have handrails on the steps haha will you hear me about that ???
Use a propane torch (the ones for killing weeds) and give the boards all a once over. If your quick, the boards will warm up enough to soak up the sealer.
It will be interesting for us to see how the sealer deals with being frozen and then warmed up. The maker of same might be interested as well. How not to use their product and the nasty result! I sure hope it it turns out ok in the spring.
I used to put in fence post everywhere. Every type of ground. By hand the struggle is real. Nothing like a big pry bar AKA Burger bar 6 ft long. Flathead to slam down and break roots and flat rocks
hmm man i dont know about that sealer . i mean its there now and as it warms up it might draw it in . but one thing for sure its protected . hopefully we get another couple of warm days you can get the front done . im sure the wood will suck that sealer in . fingers crossed . looks great sealed . and it will get any little cracks that might have been there you could not see . winter is already here we had a bunch of snow hit us here but it got warmer and supposedly its going to hit 50 for a couple days . i know the snow is all gone now for the most part . you being a couple hundred miles or so from me at a guess . im sure it is colder there . better get on that inside and get them steps in fast . once you get the heater in the cabin and steps built you can pretty much do the inside at your own pace or even wait till spring if you wanted to . i know you wont and i wouldn't ether . but your going to be so much warmer in there this winter with good insulation . well any way good job hope you had a wonderful thanks giving . work safe and take care buddy see you next weekend .
Happy Thanksgiving its a little lat but I hope you had a great Thanksgiving day Wow that's some sweet looking wood me I would what to cook round an fine more of that wood. Carport or a Hoop house would be nice to put all your milled wood . I have seen people use 1\2" rebar for stacks then you get cattle fence you make a hoop then you put tarp on top you have a Hoop house it will be worm to dry your wood much faster . just look up cattle fence hoop house you will see lots of them for ideas. When its wet time of the year I put the cement in the hole dry when its dry time of the year i add some water not a lot so its like creamy peanut butter

You could build a fire near the new poles and keep burning building scraps. that should help warm the place up a bit, possibly enough for the paint inside to dry
Your plan for steps sound good, your plans anyways always work out good man 😂

How not to use their product and the nasty result! I sure hope it it turns out ok in the spring.
For your next structure you could try applying your liquid protector while the boards are horizontal.
So Nice Ryan!
Hey Bro. Great to see you. Lol Craig. Pa
Beautiful work.
I think under your last couple builds would provide a decent amount of lumber storage,no?
