I have a Zoom Date 2.8 (aka the Silvi 2.8, branded for Europe) and love the rolls I've run thru it. I almost always shoot at it's widest end 24mm. I'm curious how others find the sharpness and look when zoomed in. There's little info on this cam online, and I've never found a pdf manual, just some promo material in Japanese. Wish I had the black model for the exposure compensation. What a strange decision to leave out features on some models. Anyway, the camera is good fun and my go-to p&s when attending weddings and the like, for the selfie features and versatility.
That's great to hear Mike! The Silvi is on my eBay list of 10 or so cameras I watch all the time ha ha. Just waiting for a good deal on one to come along. Pretty cool that it has 2 shutter buttons!
As a Queenslander (tho not living there anymore), shout out for your vid 🎉 I also have a Fujifilm Date Zoom F2.8 (Silvi F2.8) and it's absolutely amazing
Oh wow I'm jealous, I would love a Silvi but then I look at the Natura Classica and wonder if there's much difference and which one I should get... then I have choice paralysis and buy neither ha ha! Glad you enjoyed the vid, plenty more shots of Queensland coming up as we have no holidays planned!
Another great video, Matt!! I've always really loved the idea of the Tiara/DL Super Mini! I didn't buy one back when they were $200 (story of my life 😅) and I really don't think the current prices are reasonable!
I would totally buy one if they were $200 too ha ha! Aussie dollar has tanked in the last week against the USD, not good news for buying cameras from Japan :(
I only just acquired my first P&S a Nikon One Touch Zoom 90 (it was a freeby) a lot of fun at parties and the like. I think they definitely bring out the fun factor. The more I watch/read about this type of camera the more I realize just how capable some of these cameras were. Running the gamut from happy snapper kids cameras to semi pro functionality. Great see you on YT and not just your voice on spotify Matt. You've hit the ground running, well done.
Thank you so much! New podcast coming soon, I feel like I've been neglecting the pod 😬Yes, P&S are so much fun! I have turned into a P&S junkie in the last 5 years 😅 before that it was almost always SLR style cameras.
Super cool video! I had heard of the Natura and Klasse S, but the others were new to me. I imagine the soldered battery makes the DL-200 a bit of a challenge to use today? The Tiara seems an interesting 28TI alternative, and I’m just millennial enough to love the idea of the Silvi. The Natural Photo Mode shots are beautiful. I’m sure you cherish your Klasse and Natura, and look forward to hearing more about them soon!
Thanks so much Christopher! I've heard if you know your way around a soldering iron, it's not a problem. Sadly, I'm useless with that kinda stuff 😄I just bought the DL-200 ii - they improved the design to make the battery user replaceable. I've heard so many people rave about the Tiara, but of course, you don't know what other cameras they've used or what they're comparing it to. Also keen for the Silvi, perhaps only because it has two shutter buttons ha ha. Thanks for the compliment about the Natural Photo Mode images! I will do a video soon about pushing colour film in the Klasse and Natura 😀
Love the video, but don’t love that yet again I’m drooling over beautiful cameras that are well out of my financial grasp 🤤wouldn’t mind getting my hands on a Natura or Kassel S, both look amazing!
Thanks so much Molly! And apologies too ha ha. I will do a video on some of my favourite budget friendly P&S soon! The prices for some of these cameras has gone up so much recently, though the Natura has always been high.
Question about the natura black: Does the lens move to focus when you half press the shutter or like some of the contax cameras, does it meter the distance and only move the lens to focused position when you take the pictures?
Hi, no lens movement with the Natura on half press. All you get is confirmation of focus (solid green light) and if it wants the flash to fire (sold red light). It's a fun camera!
I don’t consider myself a camera expert, but P&S are a particular blind spot for me so I appreciate the overview. I have to believe if we get another 35mm camera with more features than the simple use cameras available today, it will be a P&S.
Both the Klasse and the Natura are expensive on eBay, but the Klasse is quite a bit more expensive. Much like the Nikon 35Ti and 28Ti. Still, I stuck 2 of the Natura's on my watchlist. You never know your luck :) :)
I would actually love another Natura! One of the blue or lavender ones. They’ve been pricey for a long time, the Klasse S has gone up quite a bit lately 😿
Yes for sure! I think the images look great, it will be up to you if you like the higher saturation and contrast though. I have stuck ISO1600 stickers on rolls of Lomo 800 and Portra 800 and then had the film pushed 1 stop by my lab. I've done this with both my Klasse S and my Natura. I posted two albums on my Lomography page with the results: www.lomography.com/homes/mattlovescameras/albums
You seem like the kind of guy that could do some soldering Alex, if you are, you could make it work! Sadly I'm useless with that kind of stuff ha ha! The second version of the camera DL-200 ii had a user replaceable battery! I just bought one so hopefully it is fun to shoot.
Matt you are evil! You Keep adding more fuel to the GAS fire. I almost bought that Silvi with that f2.8 in a zoom. Just stopped myself as it is hardly much of a zoom. Easier to avoid the more expensive ones on this list. Just doesn’t make sense when you can get lot more for that much like a 645
😅I'm so sorry Neerav ha ha. I've almost bought a Silvi too, but the price they go for now is just a little too high for me... and like you say, there are other cameras that seem more enticing for not too much more money

Super informative video! The lowlight capabilities of that "Natura" are incredible, thanks for posting :)
Thanks so much Ethan! I'll do a review of the Natura very soon!

we need to start a campaign to bring back these cameras

Should be 5 film I wish Fujifilm would bring back
If only!
if only
There are also DL-200 II (the version was not really mentioned in the US versions) which used CR-P2 user changeable batteries.
Ah very interesting, thanks for watching and letting me know! 😊

Hey Matt, I picked up a Klasse S second hand recently. The viewfinder LCD is busted, do you know anywhere that does repairs?
Ooo great question, where are you based Anthony? Have you tried Ppp repairs in London?
@@MattLovesCameras I’m based in the US, I can try to send ppp a message
Great Video Mat.. Thanks for a bit of a history lesson By the way I will be in Brisbane next week :)
Thanks Anthony! Oh cool, which part of Brisbane? Send me a message on IG!

Recently I bough Minolta P&S. Even though I wanted to get klassica or nature, I couldn't find good deal of them.. thanks for the video!
Thanks Ryan! Yeah most of them are in Japan which makes it expensive with the Aussie dollar at the moment. Minolta made some very nice P&S too!
@@MattLovesCameras I bought tc-1 but havent tried yet 😃
@@RYANPARKPHOTOGRAPHY wow, super keen to see the results, are you doing a video? That's on my bucket list along with the Nikon 28/35 Ti.
@@MattLovesCameras I will do oneday 😀 i have few more before that 😀

Klasse S!
Yes! So good, do you have one?
@@MattLovesCameras not yet! Planning it to be my second point and shoot! Gotta save money lol
So you're saying I can use my klasse W and push lomo 800 to 1600 and it'll look good? 🤨🧐

That’s a real shame about the DL-200, it seems like the one camera that I would like to try! As for the reviews, Natura first.
You seem like the kind of guy that could do some soldering Alex, if you are, you could make it work! Sadly I'm useless with that kind of stuff ha ha! The second version of the camera DL-200 ii had a user replaceable battery! I just bought one so hopefully it is fun to shoot.
