It’s interesting that after so many years of Audi shouting from the mountaintops that touchscreens are the devil and they’ll always use buttons and control wheels to control MMI that they now choose to have touchscreens again. 😁
Well, they are the first ones on the market to use a "touch response" system, similar to apple's force feedback. That way you won't accidentally select stuff, it's pretty neat.
Get with the times or die. Blockbuster Video knew about online video rentals and still failed to change, so they died. NOKIA knew that people want smart phones like the iphone but refuse to change and they were pretty much dead. Audi is smart to change, they will live.
With all the comforts in this model it's probably for an older person. Unfortunately, the tech that controls it is designed for a younger person. I got it, the car is bipolar lol. Excellent review
Yeah it is. I'm an "older person" (62) and its my first foray into the world of big, cushy cars. And I love it. Maybe not if it was strictly a daily tho. For me, its a road trip car. I love the quiet, comfortable luxury while my 21 year-old son loves the tech (he was a great co-pilot for the first couple of weeks). Alas, its an older person's car for millennials - lol. But as a 62 year-old man, it hasn't taken long to adjust, and wow... it may not be an engaging driver's car (because its not meant to be), but it IS a place I love being - and for hours on end. This is a road-tripper, for sure, that can burn thru hundreds of miles and leave the driver (and passengers) still refreshed upon arrival, and oh-so comfortable and pampered getting there : )
This is probably the best review of the A8 out there. Finally somebody who actually knows all the features, especially in the infotainment.
All that “Touching” seems to me, will take the drivers eye off the road...And this guy gave a great review🎉
Excellent overview of the controls. Wish I had found this BEFORE spending weeks figuring it all out and looking up functions on youtube.
All them screens in the front is an accident waiting to happen lol :)
Still safer than texting on a 6 inch cell phone.
You can use voice commands instead of screens. It works very well.

Audi is ahead of the game for infotainments, interface and tech.
