thank you for showing the cardboard use for the hillside. i have just finished laying my track but was struggling with hle i was going to build my back tunnel. thanks again and nice video.
There are lots of different ways to do hills, some are a bit more permanent than others (like chicken wire and wooden spacers) whilst ones like that shown in this video are a bit more lightweight. Other people use different kinds of foam and carve it to shape and apply filler over the top to make it more rigid
I've been the same for my OO gauge shunting layout, it's perfect as I've got some old boxes and wrapping paper I can use 😂thanks for the idea @ModelMinutes!
Great video. Its nice that you decided to do this n scale micro layout. I was really into model railroad , had an ho layout but switched to n scale because of lack of space, still have all of my track and trains but all in storage. This video makes me want to do a layout. Thank you for this video.
@@ModelMinutes yup, trains took more spaces... Used to have small layout on my old house, but when we move to a smaller house i dont have any spaces for my trains, ended selling them all...😊 Anyways very nice idea for a small train diorama. Love it! 🤍👍
very cool and fun idea. I have an Z scale from marklin and been wanting to make an layout but i didn't have the space for it this has given me inspiration to make modules system easy storage and transportation. thank you for this video and good luck with the bigger trains. your video's have helped me to thin down my model stash and find fun in doing so, thank you. i wish you an fun and good happy christmas and an happy new year though early.
I've heard that track rubbers are going out of favour these days as they are abrasive and effectively damage the track, which then means more dirt collects on them. I think electronic cleaning methods mixed with solvents like IPA are the more favoured methods which have been explored by other channels
Great video, Matt! I do have a project idea which is a OO scale model railway that's at an airfield so you can display your built planes and trains at the same time.
Lovely job Matt.. just goes to show (again) how skills from one area can cross to another. One question (and I did email Hornby about this with no reply) is that some dioramas set in vintage periods - which this isn't - look too clean. With horses being the main mode of transport and in commercial use (milk floats, ploughing etc) there is no 'detritus' from horses, and no guy shovelling it up to use on his flowerbeds or sell. Something for a 3D print maybe?
Some excellent points! I wasn't going for anything too specific, just a bit of a mix of things based on what I had in my storage box. But yes, I see what you mean, there are a lot of railway models that are very "clean" (which I suppose is completely fine as modellers are free to create their projects however they want) but those who want to create more rundown or dirty scenes are somewhat disadvantaged by the mainstream manufacturers. This is why 3D printing is so great, it is possible to create these things if they are not supported by the companies :)
What a wonderful layout. It’s gives me a few ideas. Especially something outside the scope of my 00 gauge loft layout. Where did you get the baseboard from?. Great video. Cheers 👍
Glad to see I'm not the only one who's gotten back into trains. Wonderful work!
Trains are one of my favourite subjects to model! :)

Happy you’ve been able to clear your stash up a bit it looks fantastic and I can’t wait for you to extend it at some point your dioramas are superb
Thanks!
Two of my fave YTubers both start a premiere at the same time... watching it now Matt
That’s unfortunate! Who is the other one? I was meant to premiere this later but plans had to change 🫠
@@ModelMinutes The Chieftain (tank stuff); it's ok I watched back to back and even got my tea made for me too. Not a bad Saturday evening at all!
That was really awesome. I did put an HO set up around a bedroom. Thanks for sharing. Happy Christmas all.
Happy holidays!

I have quite a few other model railway scales and projects I would like to do one day :)
Might end up like this myself cheers for the inspiration and the quality of your content
Well impressed not just with your hand skills but also your imagination
thanks!
Gotta love a model railroad. Have a very happy Christmas to you and yours Matt. Cheers from Colorado USA.
Happy holidays!
Beautiful tiny train diorama/layout! Very nice build! 😍 I miss my trains...used to have trains but in Ho scale...
Thanks! I would like to do more with trains but having the space and time is hard

Woah! I never expected to be this GOOD! Amazing work you really nailed it!
Wow, thank you!

The great thing about Z is the tiny size! You could fit so much more in the same space I used here :)
At first i thought this was gonna be a bad video with next to no detailing but this turned out to be a great video in the future i hope you extend it!
Hello there Matt that looks great 👍
Thanks 👍
i tend to use a mix of ipa and track rubber to clean my track

Nice work have a good Christmas Matt
Thanks, you too!

Nicely done cheers from Bruce blenheim south island New Zealand 🇳🇿 merry Christmas

Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
not a train man, but, great result, nice snapshot of a lil village station
Glad you enjoyed it!
I fancy having a go at this at some point once we've moved house, just a diorama, as I am terrified by the complexities of making things move.

Awesome Mat......have you seen the youtube vidoes on the Hamburg model Railway?

The wooden base is from a pack of 3 different sizes I got from Hobbycraft - they are actually wooden trays but I flipped it upside down
@ happy days. Thank you very much. I’m looking forward to this. Cheers 👍
Ive got a request that i think you'll like:Revell BR 01 locomotive
Thanks for the suggestion!
@ModelMinutes no problem
Isn’t micro n gauge Z gauge?
N gauge is 1/148 scale in the UK, Z gauge is 1/220 and even smaller is T which is 1/450
