    Akimbo 69 is certainly an interesting example of modern day online virality within the armwrestling world. I felt like he deserved a closer look, as his story is pretty interesting in my opinion.
    Let me know what you thought of this video!

    I've always wondered about that feller. I'd see him from time to time on someone's channel but never knew he had a TH-cam. Looks super strong and they should have him at KOTT, or East vs west, or Armgods, AWE etc etc. Awesome video as always Mr. Arm Historian

      Thing is these viral TH-cam armwrestlers are still levels below professional competition. They have lots of videos beating the unsuspecting average guy or untrained bodybuilder, but when they face actual elite armwrestlers they have zero chance of winning. It’s kinda sad for me to see guys like Akimbo, Schoolboy, armwrestling whisperer, and Alex top roll get millions of followers and hundreds of millions of views but the actual elite armwrestlers are virtually unknown to the masses. I saw a pole where the average teenager actually thought schoolboy was the world champion lol.

      @@antoniehm87 as demonstrated by this video and his 70 kg 1st place at WAF Im not sure what youre talking about. He is clearly around the top of his weightclass. He could easily pull americans in the 70 kg class as they are quite honestly far below the europeans at this weight.

    5:23 7000kcal/d is doubtful for a daily diet for him for any long period of time, easily done one day per week maybe

      I have a friend who is also around 80 kg and easily consumes 7-8 k cal per day.
      There are outliers here and there,

    • @shakya00
      @shakya00 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      As far as I know he is under 80kg and even with PEDs, it is way too much. Maybe as someone mentioned, for a day, but certainly not usual even if he bulks.

    • @TuranZeynalliArmWrestling
      @TuranZeynalliArmWrestling ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@shakya00 there are people with very high metabolism and output. 7000 callories is completely doable. My weight is 70 kg and I am consuming 5 k, no problems. Every breakfast is close to 2 k.

    • @mcfarvo
      @mcfarvo ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @TuranZeynalliArmWrestling is he an endurance athlete training several hours per day everyday of his week for months? Only then would he be able to do that if also he has the genetics for a higher BMR (unlikely) and he has the genetics for hyperphagia (a little more likely), but what is most likely is he cannot accurately track his food/energy intake (very common) and/or he is lying/exaggerating/misremembering (also very common).

    • @mcfarvo
      @mcfarvo ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the genetics for hyperphagia (lookup "competitive eaters" like Matt Stonie or Erik The Electric to see examples of people that tolerate extreme eating with higher frequency) and I can easily eat over 7000kcal/d for weeks and weeks, but no way would I stay around 80kg body mass doing that every day for months even with 1-2hrs weight lifting 5 days/week + 1-3hrs cardio/running 7 days/week as I've done this training for marathons while lifting and bulking up to over 101kg body mass (185cm tall adult male). I highly doubt a 65kg Akimbo69 training for Armwrestling is eating 7000kcal/d every day for weeks or months without rapidly gaining body mass, mostly body fat.

    Akimbo69 is a "cringe" pseudonym/moniker/username/whatever, but he seems to be like "Schoolboy" in that he is notably good at Armwrestling while I doubt he will ever be on the elite adult (not junior) international/world championship level ever (as that is unlikely for anyone), but we shall see

    • @mcfarvo
      @mcfarvo ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe a Denis or Ermes sort of PED response could push him to a higher level though /shrug we can't predict that

    • @TimmyTurner421

      @@mcfarvothen he would end up in a heavier weight class against naturally bigger framed opponents.

    • @shakya00
      @shakya00 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He is still young, you can't know. And I think, like many of us, you have a bias toward the heaviest weight categories. But as stated in this video...he got a world title in junior and will maybe perform very well in "senior". He won't end up a super heavyweight champion indeed but at his actual weight category or even higher, why not ?

    • @mcfarvo
      @mcfarvo ปีที่แล้ว

      @TimmyTurnerArmwrestling yeah, I don't think it's in the cards for him to dominate the men's adult professional 75kg or 85kg or 95kg natty for sure, maybe with PEDs he could try, but he would be outclassed by men with better anthropometrics for those higher weight classes probably

    • @jdj2022

    Some of the comments are ridiculous, people have a twisted sense of reality because they watch and consume content by the best in the world and expect everyone to be at a super high level, he’s a legitimate Arm-wrestler and that’s the point of the video.

      @@armhistorian with a title like that it implies that it is reason why one would think he is a fake arm wrestler.
      You didn't establish that at all.
      A more sensible title would be the history of akimbo69, or how good is akimbo69

    • @armhistorian
      @armhistorian  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@helderboymh Yes that might have been more accurate but to say the title is complete clickbait is a little over the top, I feel.
