Young mom facing incredible obstacles gets a nice surprise from a Secret Santa

The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local Secret Santa give $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season.
Susannah is a nurse and mother of four boys and a one-year-old little girl. One of her boys was stillborn at 36 weeks. Her life then took an unexpected turn when she fell down in her home. It was discovered that she crushed a vertebrae. After three surgeries and infections, it was extremely hard to take care of her new baby.
Susannah has always been compassionate and empathetic to every patient and was a light in the lives of those she dedicated herself to. Even after losing a child, she was there to console mothers who had lost their babies. Her resilience is admirable and her dedication to continuing to serve despite her struggles has inspired patients and nurses around her.
Sadly Susannah is no longer able to work as a nurse as her doctor told her she can not physically handle bedside nursing for the foreseeable future.
Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News team if we could pay her a visit and surprise her with an early Christmas gift. Watch the surprise in the video player above!

It's impressive to see Peggy's face changing across Nates's reading. At the beginning of the video she is smiling, but along the description she shows a deep sadness. But then, when Nate talks about the Secret Santa, she lights up again! That is a real display of empathy. Go Peggy!

@@beepndigr3634 Home visits can be physically hard on nurses. Getting in and out of the car multiple times over a shift can be difficult alone. And, depending on the locations… walking to the doors can even be dangerous. I did both hospital and home care nursing over my career.
Living in chronic pain makes dealing with any other thing nearly impossible. You guys have really lifted this lovely woman's burden.
IN OUR CURRENT ECONOMIC CRISIS, THESE SECRET SANTAS ARE A GODSEND HELPING GOOD PEOPLE!!

Even after losing a baby, she was there to help others. Amazing fortitude, compassion & caring…those are also the traits of the really good nurses out there! Hope the best for her going forward. ❤

I'm not religious at all but this lady is a living angel. All the best to her and her beautiful family.
I can relate to what shes going thru back surgeries are never easy i wouldn't recommend it on anyone unless it truly has to be done..I had 5 back surgeries due to horrible car wreck and back problems are no joke..My back is ruined an will require numerous more surgeries later to come but lord bless me to be able to walk n alive..some things I will never do again but after being like this for almost 10 years I haven't let it get the best of me..

I know what tremendous help this will be for her. My husband injured his back very badly in a work accident. The physical side was hard enough on him, but it’s the mental side and the effect that it has on the family as a whole that no one sees or hardly understands unless you’ve been through it. Wow that woman was dealt a serious blow. That's a horrible to have ones career cut down instantly. She deserves so much more. Thanks secret Santa and nate. I have a good idea of how she feels I was working my dream job when I got hit a disabling disease. That was age 65. I could no longer work, some how I contracted a thing called MRSA, spent time in hospital and had to learn to walk all over. My whole had to be adjusted. Forced retirement, I have great friends and getting better. Anyhow I feel her pain.
