Levitate can be used to do certain skips that double jump can't do due to it can't achieve the same horizontal distance and levitate can be used to increase movement speed easier.
Strafe jumping in this game works by pointing your character at an angle and holding forward +a direction. This works both on the ground and in the air, holding space in combination will give you a massive speed/airtime boost.
