    Allister is one of the most important band of my life . I was a teenager during the skate punk rock era ( NOFX ' Rancid , No use for a name , Lagwagon , Green day , Blink 182 ... around 1994-1999 , then i drift away from that music and quit guitar for a few years . After hearing Allister music in the movie Sleepover ( chicks flick i know , but i like the genre ) , their sound and single powerchords riffs remembered me of the Dookie era and brought me back into guitar . I bought Last stop suburbia and became one of my best band and got me back into guitar and punk rock ,/ pop punk . Ive played guitar ever since the last 17 years and still listen to Blink 182 , old Green day etc.. and still live my life simplier and shape my life around that music .

    I will never, in a million years, understand how these guys never hit it big. They were FAR better than the Simple Plan type groups from the era…LSS is one of the better pop punk albums ever recorded.

      Maybe not as a whole but at least Scott the bassist managed to make it big over at Japan. His band Monoeyes played Japans biggest forum like twice now. Simple Plan has always played a far more commercial style of Pop Punk and had a much more approachable personality. Not to mention that Simple Plan also always had the boy band looks, even today. ill add that I would´ve liked for this guys to at least be as famous as New found glory or something, its crazy to think that Fall out boy opened for Allister back in 2001-2002

      100% agree but unfortunately they were all pop/punk and didn't have any ballads and the ballads are what made Simple Plan, Blink, Good Charlotte, New Found Glory, etc. skyrocket...people just love a good ballad after and before their next banger lol

      @@darrenhill3514New found glory had a popular ballad? NFG was a tier or two below blink, good charlotte and simple plan when it came to pop culture relevance and popularity at the former three bands' peaks but NFG was around. Unfortunately SP fell off with their dull third album and GC their fifth. I tried to listen to newer SP and it's more corny and forced than they've ever been, the instruments aren't as heavy as the first two albums either.

    I remember hearing "Somewhere on Fullerton" in the UK back in 2002/2003 and instantly loved this band (and still do!). The recent 20 year anniversary album they released has some awesome new songs and re-recorded songs from their Drive-Thru records. Worth checking out as they're brilliant...

    Blows my mind that Scott has actually played the biggest forum The Budokan over at Japan and still is coming back to rock with Allister. He is amazing. Sucks that they were not invited to the When we were young festival. The Chicago scene was mostly ignored as Alkaline trio and FOB are missing too.

    • @zacharyharlan7463
      @zacharyharlan7463 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      While I agree mostly, I had tickets to the first WWWY and unfortunately got screwed by high winds and a cancelled Saturday, but, as a ginormous A3 fan, they were on the first festival lineups. And, Rise Against is on the '23 lineup. Not saying Chicago didn't get fully represented, but, definitely weren't completely ignored. That being said, I still remember my high school punk band covering Somewhere On Fullerton back in 03-04, and am so glad to see these guys playing together occasionally again.

      FOB had a couple good albums then it fell apart. (Folie a Duex and beyond are awful.) Allister, however, has been solid for their entire run. It's truly a shame that the FOBs of the world are popular, and simply excellent bands like Allister are practically unheard of and unacknowledged.

    • @kleinkaufman8940
      @kleinkaufman8940 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@timothyconard2825 I disagree wholeheartedly. I personally do not like FOBs albums very much after Folie,but Folie is an absolutely excellent album. Diversifying ones sound does not equal Bad and playing the same thing over and over does not equal good. Allister has tried a few different things over the year( specially with Scotts songs) but for the most part have remained stale. Thats why FOB has reach the point they have. Thats the difference also between bands like Blink and New Found Glory, Simple Plan and MXPX.

    I saw them at the chameleon in 2006 maybe. There were only like 200 people there and I said to the bar tender. "why aren't there more people here?" I figured from their sound they were so much bigger than they were. Many pop punk fans really missed out if they never heard of Allister. They played with Houston Calls which is another great band check them out if you never heard of them.
