Bachmann Baldwin 009 'Peggy' Sound

Brilliance by Bachmann! An almost sub miniature narrow gauge locomotive, amazingly well detailed, factory fitted loudspeaker, plug in decoder (next 18). And it works. Very well indeed on 'N' gauge track. The Baldwin class 10-12-D 4-6-0T "Peggy" ex- Ashover Light Railway. Sound by Mr Soundguy. Zimo MX659N18 decoder.

She's a brilliant little loco. That DCC Chip really brings the sounds of the old Ashover Light Railway back to life, particularly with a speaker of that quality!

this is my favorite 009 loco at the moment i was debating whether to fit it with sound but decided against it as non of my other locos are dcc but seriously thinking about it now

Thanks Dave. Sound could be louder (it is turned up to maximum). But considering the size of the speaker - we think it's in the coalbox - it's not bad at all.........Reinhard

What an amazing loco! I've been meaning to get one for my mini HOn30 layout. Where are the speakers?

We think it's in the coal bunker. The loco does not dis-assemble easily. Only the smokebox comes off, to allow chip insertion. So the speaker location is at best a guess!

Yes, it is in the coal bunker. When you remove the two screws under it, the coal bunker comes off. Speaking of which, the coal bunker of the loco in the video should be re-fitted or the screw should be turned a bit tighter: it is not straight and there is a gap.

Dumb question probably, but I want to get in to 009 gauge with Bachmann but I can't find a good start pack, where should I begin?

Wow, that certainly matches up with the detailing quality of the Minitrains 2-6-2... but the sound takes the Bachmann much further.

Camera went into macro mode. We're lucky because a lot of Keith's customers send him locos for sound fitting, Then they come here for testing!
