- War Dust VR apparently exists and is the closest thing to a Battlefield VR game we have. Never heard of this game before in my life, it looks like an indie game from the early 2000's but it's Battlefield VR. Even more so than Pavlov Push. Because the vehicle combat just works. Helicopters, jets, tanks and ATV's all fully playable in VR. And it's good gameplay too. So strange. I hope it gave you a chuckle though and I will see you later today... or never...

I remember this game from back in lockdown where there would be consistently 1 full server every day and it was awesome because there was only one server people sort of knowing each other and it formed this whole community and there would be player organised events EVERY Friday and at the end we would all organise and take a screenshot together, definitely one of the most wholesome vr shooters I've played
It's way better now. Roundy took it over and reworked all of the maps and weapons. He also upped the tick rate to 15. It runs smooth with 38 people in it.

Played a lot of this game… this IS the pioneer VR battlefield experience. it’s a little janky but surprisingly good if you can manage expectations. The vehicle controls in this game feel perfect almost like your hand becomes the vehicle and turning your wrists manipulates the vehicle.

It was in the days when VR (PCVR) was showing so much potential and million dollar studios were gearing up to follow up. Then facebook decided that they wanted to turn VR into a data harvesting metaverse investor scam full of XR2 android games made for 9 year olds and boomers.

A battlefield like game in VR has always been like the ultimate gaming dream of mine. Something that combines vehicular combat, with fps boots on the ground combat on a large big team scale, even if it is rough around the edges gives me so much hope for the future of VR gaming

I used to play Battlefield all the time with my workmates back in the early 2000's. Totally arcade style vehicles but d@mn we had so much fun! I need to get in and play again in VR! Glad I saw this!
I went to a VR store where you could basically rent time to play any vr game you wanted. I played War Dust. 30 minutes, had no idea how to play at all and never used a vr headset or controllers before. That experience and game solidified my love and eventual purchase of my own vr headset. Sadly quest 2 standalone can't play it but I've found so many gems that scratch that itch. Once I get a PC I'm playing war dust asap

This is basically what I wanted Pavlov to be, so this is instantly wishlisted. Seems the devs are active with the community, as there are weekend events.
Hopefully if the quest 2 gets more updates to ru. Bigger games this might be ported onto quest
Finally, the coverage this game needed to get the player count back. This game also supports custom maps, weapons, and models so you can do 64 player vr starwars battles or ww1 trench battles with enough people.

I played this game back when it launched and had a playerbase. It died rather quickly and i never understood why as it is a pretty good representation of bf in vr. Habie, pls bring the players back
Because that's the year beat saber came out, moss, zero caliber, sprint vector, budget cuts, echo combat, and tons of very polished games that were taking over the early 2016-2017 jank VR games that were exploring VR. At that time, most everyone had been figuring out the limitations and standardized controls. War dust was very slow to get on-board with all of that. Could have been a great game if the devs actually built a game on top of war dust. Instead, the devs have shit out the most jank low-effort trash VR has seen, but on an impressive open-world MP scale. GangV, Standout, and Art of the Fight all had great potential, but were abandoned quickly. Seems like the devs don't want to put any effort into creating polished VR games.

I saw the thumbnail and immediately knew it was War Dust. To me it used to be cool, but it got abandoned and there was not enough content, so I just put it aside and didn't really care for it anymore. I think last I looked they started doing updates again though, did they not? Or they at least did one? Maybe I'm forgetting or it was longer ago than I remember. I'm surprised you didn't already know about it though.

was gonna buy this game when it first came out about 2-3 years ago, unfortunately the reviews were not great but looked about 2 months ago and it looks like the devs took all the criticism on board and completely redid the game and it works great
It is a rare situation when an Indie VR DEV studio (like Raptor Lab) allows the players to directly control the development of their game. We are in a unique position to have a talented and creative genius at the helm of our favorite game who listens and responds to the community as we test and suggest changes to War Dust.
To little to late unfortunately.
No idea if they're doing a Quest port but I hope they do, I can't see this being successful otherwise....and I want a Battlefield themed VR game to succeed.

I played this when it was new and the servers were already full this was the most fun I ever had in VR before and Im sad almost no one is still playing it. I met a friend in the game and she still plays to this day almost exclusively this game and I have mad respect for that.
Very wasexcited for this weekend events! For the first time ever, both events would be streamed LIVE on the War Dust store page on Steam! Both events will also be rebroadcast during the week across the Steam platform. This is was a huge opportunity to show potential buyers and players the amazing New War Dust!

I've played this game for years, there is full lobbies every weekend (2pm ish) and events 2 times during the week. A must is to DL the custom XP farm map and leave your HMD on the floor for 2+hrs to level up and unlock better weapons...Also if servers are low create custom lobbies with custom maps and turn up bots to 50vs50 and turn up count to 800 troops for a crazy fun time by yourself until someone joins your lobby

I swear I may have met Brin before, or at least another amazing VR player like them. It was on the Walkabout Minigolf VR game, and I was just starting out. I decided to play a random public match and joined into a match with this more experienced player, the Brin of minigolf. They gave me some helpful advice on how to play and let me take as much time as I needed. Godspeed to that player.
