man this guy is so much into this i'm admiring him for his level of professionality...but i guess he needs some time to get this whole stuff to work everytime :D
Wow! Good to see at least a Roland Fantom Keyboard at the back. Aha, also is that a Roland PK-5? Well, only octopus could compete with you. Thank you for sharing these great ideas and ways of quite secure setting. Thanks to Billy Joel, too! Cheers!
I thought I was doin sumthin with my little keyboard trying to find nice sounds except for any of the sax voices. This man got stuff runnin all up under the stage in his RIG. I’m bout to pass out!
Amazing rig, mind you. You have to have a brilliant rig if your on stage in big stadiums every night playing with the likes of Billy Joel and you have to know what you are doing
Hello. I am 60 years old. if I think of the amount of keyboards that we used live without any computer, the amount of sounds that we had to change every moment during a show, this keyboardist as well as most today, make me laugh. practically the technology today serves to do as little as possible live. and don't tell me these million dollar shows can't afford to pay more musicians. A shame. They should ban the use of all this live technology. Yes, right. Technology is not used to create something so special that it would be impossible to do it live, but it is used to: 1) sweat less 2) copy sounds from other instruments 3) keep the musicians from working. In short, for me the use of computers should be evaluated more honestly and with dignity. Billy Joel could also pay for violinists, horns, and whatever it takes instead of working with a lot of sampled sounds and recordings. Life Is live. what's this ? A live show or a computer demonstration. Get the musicians to work. In live concerts. In recording rooms. Get rid of all this technology. Put on 20 keyboards, a paper with all the indications and simply "" sweat "" . they make me laugh. And people say "" that's good "". I worked as a keyboard player in many kimd of situation. Many dance orchestras in the 70s, I Remember that i brought with me the instrumentation of emmerson lake & palmer. We didn't have computers and we played everything live. We were better than all of these. one thousand times. """W""". the 70s. but we were honest. We couldn't pay for violinists or wind sections. But these big stars could. So they are not good. the musicians are "" lazy "" and the production are "" stingy "" and the audience is just "" tricked "". This became everything. Everything in a live concert must be "" alive "" played with real instruments.. paying a lot of money to see 6 musicians and hear 100 is stupid.
EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thank you.

Too bad Billy Joel's music is so lousy. At least he has a very professional keyboard tech.

he said in the other video he was running everything ssd and thunderbolt. how is the ultralite in the rig?
Wow, Mainstage $30 bucks?
Mainstage is just the host platform. I don´t think, he uses the stock instruments. But for me some of them work and sound just fine.
A Virtuoso
I could do this I just lack the funds.
Yes, and I could win a F1 championship if only I had a fast car.
That interviewer is suddenly trying to be enthusiastic...he's like
"I know everything your doing...I just need a break in the biz to."

Complicating things. Just learn to play the songs and play them live. Like in the old days.
