I know a lot of musicians use Mac on stage because of reliability. How reliable is this setup, because you are using Windows machines for most of your sounds.
I haven't had any major problems. I have never gigged with a Mac, so I can't compare, but I have never liked the idea of having a laptop onstage. The VST host I use is fully optimized for touchscreen, and I give that a lot of value. If Apple finally came out with a MacOS tablet, and MainStage was optimized for it, I would probably consider that route.
@@ManueldelaTorre I guess I've been a victim of confusion, because I honestly thought Mac for live use only, because it's sturdy. Interesting to see someone using a Windows and it's reliable. Was there ever a day the rig "broke" and refused to work?
@@tonylancer7367 I have had to restart one of them a couple of times, but I attribute that to the fact that I use it for many many things other than music, so there's a bunch of processes running all the time. The older Surface Pro 2 that I use exclusively for Bitwig sequences has never given me any trouble.
kpm75 I have not personally attempted this, but according to Alesis support, you're not supposed to connect the USB dongle directly to a synthesizer. I don't think it would damage the port, but I could be wrong.
Hi Manuel, what I would like it to do is just duplicating the Kronos keyboard, some forums say that works just plugging the dongle in the Kronos does exactly that. Would you mind trying if that's the case indeed ?
Got mine some days ago, and indeed it works but not flawless... Quite often you get notes not getting their midi note-off command, so they keep hanging. Wired there's no problem, but using the dongle I wouldn't risk using it in a live situation.
@@kpm75 the wireless system is not very strong. I was dealing with the same issue, so now I connect the dongle via a little USB extension cable, and place it clear of interference. Works much better, but I still don't wander too far.

I do prefer Bitwig for two main reasons: it is highly optimized for touchscreens, and you can open multiple projects at once and have them in tabs like an internet browser.
So, do you break this all down and take it places?!
Pretty much every weekend. Takes me about 30 minutes each to set up and tear down. 20 if I'm in a hurry, but I don't like being in a hurry. 😛
How the heck do u move it around?! Pretty cool rig!
Nicely packed in the back of my SUV. AND I used to also pack a guitar, violin, and extra rack case for another musician. 😬 It was like playing 3D Tetris.
@@ManueldelaTorre Nice! I imagine it was quite hard moving it around
@@joaobaptistabrandao not really, just a little time-consuming.
Do you have videos of your gigs?
A few people have asked. I mostly upload them on Facebook. I guess I should upload some here. :)
@@ManueldelaTorre do you have a Facebook page that fans can seem them or is it just private?
@@alancummings5651 since I play in four or so different bands, they are kind of all over the place. You may find some under my personal profile which is pretty much all public. Just search for Manuel de la Torre in Lincoln, Nebraska. ✌️
OMG !!! What's the price for such an installation ???
I'm guessing about $12,000. I'll have to add it all up next time I set it up. 😬
@@ManueldelaTorre Waouwww nothing to do with my 2nd hand Korg Krome 61 @600€ LOL ( kind regards from Belgium )
Nice rig. I also have a Kronos but it's a 73 key first generation. Above that I have a King Korg and above that my old Wavestation EX. On the other side of my room I have a Korg Triton Por x, my ancient Minikorg and my old Polysix.. Here's a quick video tour if you'd like to see. th-cam.com/video/mNxqBAaHyRY/w-d-xo.html
Hi Manuel, I'm considering getting an Alesis Vortex II. Can you tell me if you can plug the dongle directly into the Kronos as well ? Does that work ?
kpm75 I have not personally attempted this, but according to Alesis support, you're not supposed to connect the USB dongle directly to a synthesizer. I don't think it would damage the port, but I could be wrong.
Hi Manuel, what I would like it to do is just duplicating the Kronos keyboard, some forums say that works just plugging the dongle in the Kronos does exactly that. Would you mind trying if that's the case indeed ?
@@kpm75 it works. :)
Works much better, but I still don't wander too far.
seems complex
Excelente trabajo amigo! Que aplicaciones usas en tu iPad pro?
Gracias, Roberto. Para tocadas en vivo, principalmente uso BandHelper, y las aplicaciones de las consolas Behringer XR18 y X32 para ajustar monitores.
Gracias amigo¡ tienes Facebook?

What’s the name of the VST host for the tablet again? What VSTs are you using for that? Thanks!
Cantabile Performer. Some of the VSTs I use regularly: Kontakt, Guitar Rig, MusicLab RealLPC, MusicLab RealGuitar, Audio Modeling SWAM The Saxophones, ROLI Equator, Steinberg HALion, SampleTank, iZotope VocalSynth.
Manuel de la Torre thank you !!
What is the software program on the ipad
BandHelper. Excellent app.
jesus christ man..........I wish that I was as rich as you. Didnt even mention that Fantom 6.....Let me get that from ya bro.
Not rich at all, just a little crazy. 🥴
You are rich bro👍
I wish! 😬 I've just "invested" in gear over the years, and I'm a full-time musician.
Chow..
if trent reznor saw this in 95. oh the cringe
You set this rig up at gigs? Good grief! Kronos weighs a ton.
Yes, and yes. 😂😭
Sebord isn’t really practical. That’s why it never caught on.
It is a very specialized device, and it isn't cheap. That said, it can do absolutely amazing things, and I simply couldn't give it up. I think a lot depends on the type of music you're playing. Wind instruments and strings are phenomenal, and synth leads are also pretty amazing, especially since you can do everything with one hand (vibrato, pitch bend, aftertouch).
wow how rich are you :)
Not rich at all. I got no kids. 😁 These are my babies. Kidding aside, I am lucky enough to make decent money performing.
How long does this take you set up? 😮
About 30 minutes.
....what about breaking down???
@@snakeanthony11 about the same. A lot of stuff is pre-wired.
@@ManueldelaTorre well I'm super impressed all around. great rig, great sounds.
i dunno if anyone else would watch it, but i'd be interested in a seeing how you break it down, what everything is stored in for transport, etc...
i've been adding to my rig a little this year with various extra little things after a decade of just plugging one keyboard into one amp or PA. keeping various small but expensive components like tablets and what seems like a billion patch cables organized is now a challenge.
@@snakeanthony11 I have a couple of shows coming up in the next few days. I will try to remember to do a time-lapse of my tear-down. :-)
