    I have never seen anyone get that detailed on one that small. My hat is off to you sir! A true master of models.

    Insane build! Awesome display for star treks most iconic ship.

    Love the lighting! My only beef with this kit are the lines on the saucer. They are WAY too big. The 11 foot model used a mechanical pencil for the effect, so at this scale they'd be almost invisible. It just throws off the whole kit for me.

    Well done. Really liked how you did the bridge detail - and everything actually. Fabulous.

    Stumbled across this video... glad I did. That is my "Starship" class graphic you used for the base. What an absolutely wonderful use for it. Love it. Great build too!

      Thank you. When I saw the graphic picture I just knew what I wanted it for. Printed on acrylic.

    Beautiful work. I'm attempting this as my first model in 30 years. Cobbling together the lighting is so engrossing I've barely touched the sprues yet 😂

    Instead of aluminum foil a nice idea is gold leaf. It is not very expensive. It goes on very easily nice to work with.

    This is amazing and these videos go into my "save" files for when I build mine.
    Would have loved to have seen more video of the nacelle and saucer lights moving and flashing in the end of the video though?

      Thank you very much for your comments. I did do a short video prior to doing the full build video. I’ve put a link to the video showing all the lighting and sound effects.
      Many thanks Mark

      Thanks for that link, hadn't come across that video yet on my search for videos about the build and lighting it.
      Just bought the kit this week, doing research preparing for the first time ever I'll be trying to build in some elaborate lighting like this (despite being a long time builder, off and on ;) ).
      This kit just asks for it.
      These videos are a big help regarding the wiring/technical aspects and the light sequencing, once I get to it (Spring 2023 maybe... ;) ).

    Great model. How does weathering happen in the vacume of space, I could see why in atmospheric conditions?

    • @scottfirman
      @scottfirman 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Enterprise has gone back in time a few times and did enter the Atmosphere. Space is littered with junk BTW, its not as open as we thought. The original was weathered as well. Let's face it, this guy is a Master!

      I got the print from here
      www.etsy.com/uk/listing/173557059/uss-enterprise-ncc-1701-master-systems?
      I then had it printed on acrylic

    Did you have to mask off all the windows before you painted the exterior?

    • @ScaleMarkModels
      @ScaleMarkModels  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No , I painted the hull first in the two halves, them covered the window’s whilst repainting the seam line.

    Where did you get this model and base? I know it's a Revell but did the base come with it? I think it looks amazing and I really hope to get into model building again once I retire and I am collecting alot of models. I would love to build a gorgeous Enterprise one day.

    • @ScaleMarkModels
      @ScaleMarkModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi
      The base was from modelmodz
      Link is modelmodz.com
      It was the delorean base and cabinet, just the right size for the model. The picture on the top of the base was a picture I had then printed it on acrylic.
      Regards

    In what ratio Did you mix the hull colours

    • @ScaleMarkModels
      @ScaleMarkModels  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Kevin
      I really can’t remember. It was just a touch of silver and pale green, I really went by what I thought looked right. I did make up a reasonable batch of it to paint the whole ship plus any touching up.

    Pleased you did'nt add the blu illuminating effect on the warp nacelles, they weren't in the original, I don't understand why some include this to the original. Anywho, the predecessor to this design for Captain Pikes ship should be the original, Kirk's ship should be: U.S.S. ENTERPRISE NCC 1701-A. The modified version for the motion picture should be, NCC 1701-B. It would be interesting to see all three models side by side with these text alterations. Of course Picard's ship from ST NEMESIS would be, NCC 1701-F.

    • @ScaleMarkModels
      @ScaleMarkModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Paul
      I didn’t include the blue nacelles as I wanted to keep it to the original series as I could. The weathering is pretty much done to the studio model. I spent many hours studying pictures and colour charts. If you noticed mine is a Starship class as originally named in the series rather than Constitution class renamed some years later.
      Thank you for you comments.

      Some modelers will add the blue to the TOS Enterprise because the original lighting plans from the 60s had it listed. There were also plans to illuminate the aft nacelle’s domes in a fashion similar to the way the forward nacelle domes were lit - with the spinning orange effect. Both of these lighting options were dropped due to budget constraints. So, when you see a TOS Enterprise model lit that way, it’s sort of a “what if...”
      As a side note, the first movie Enterprise had the nacelle’s interior light up so they could “finally do it the way they wanted.”

    How big is the model?
    What are the dimensions?

    • @ScaleMarkModels
      @ScaleMarkModels  ปีที่แล้ว

      From the front of the saucer to the rear of the nacelle it approximately 47 cm.
