  • We got a cool project that just rolled through our shop doors! A 1969 Hellcat engine swapped Dodge Charger! A classic car with an insane power plant. Now when this car came to the shop, it already had the Hellcat installed, the engine was wired up, and the suspension was set. In essence, the cake was baked, but it still needed icing! And that's where we come in. As cool as a hellcat Charger is, the owner wants a car that will really turn some heads at car shows. So we're tasked with surrounding the Hellcat in the engine bay with some custom sheet metal, so that the motor really stands out once the hood is open. We're also upgrading our hood hinges with some new billet ones from Ring Brothers to make showing off the engine easier!
    Now, with our engine bay looking 100x cleaner than when this car rolled in, there's still a ton of work left to do on this '69 Charger. Make sure to like and subscribe because we're building out some serious custom pieces for our interior, as well as finishing up all the odds and ends around this muscle car to get it ripping on the road!

    I went 52 years without knowing what a bead roller looked like. Thanks!! I'm sure the owner is STOKED about what he sees!!

      They've stopped by a few times and can't wait to drive this thing! And the bead rollers are great. They definitely add a whole new dimension to these closeout panels (no pun intended)

    It always amazes me the quality of fab-work that goes on at S2S. Great episode, as always.

      He's always been a great fabricator but his artistic touches have definitely grown a ton since he started here!

    Nice. Does the owner prefer beads over panels? I like panels myself. I was just wondering if there was an alternate reason for the bead rolling. Bead rolling seems a bit 20th century.

      They liked the style, but it's also there's an element of budget vs value. There's a bit more labor involved with making good looking, clean windows for perforated paneling and they just wanted a clean looking engine bay that really made the hellcat motor pop in the center. The bead roll satisfied both the visual outcome and the budget outcome! They were super happy with the outcome though,

    Wouldn't those close out panels trap the heat in close to the engine?

    Why not do a body swap with a 2016 Challenger Hellcat?

      Because the customer wanted it in a '69!

    Do you do cushions behind the panels do they rattle while driving

    • @SalvagetoSavage
      @SalvagetoSavage  13 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      The way these panels are mounted we don't use bushings and haven't had any sort of issue with vibration yet!
