@@CF-Warrior I saw it on an interview with Felder, he was at his beach house playing whatever came to mind and he made the guitar intro to hotel California, he thought it was something special so he ran to his recording room which also happened to be his daughters room, and he made up the other parts like the other guitar parts, the bass parts, and the percussion, the only thing he didn’t do was the lyrics
I think as a guitarist, kinda. He's not as recognized by the general public. But with musicians? He's one of the most known and iconic guitarists around. However, he definitely should be more known for his songwriting skills.

It was miserable weather, but such excellent music made the physical discomfort worthwhile. For the latter half of Rick's concert, the temperature dropped a noticeable few degrees, with the drizzle. Rick rightly said that he could not feel his fingers for playing his guitars. --[2] Due to tight time scheduling, both concerts were short, Don 11 songs (mostly Eagles songs, which the singing-along audience knew well & loved) & Rick 13 songs (mostly his recordings). Both bands were excellent professionals, who covered their song most closely to the original recordings. Most noticeably, both bands had large, multi-part vocal harmonies, like the original recordings. --{3] Being an "memorable experience" & a most well performed concert, we had a great time. I'm really glad that we went. Life is good, very good. "Life's been good to me so far." 👍😁👍

Hes like the cat that got the canary when he got picked for the Eagles and through all the ups and downs of that band, he still has that same smile. Props to him.
He can always be proud he stood up to Frey and Henley and took "Everything" that was legally his, including playing Eagles song's for pay anytime he pleases.
He wrote it; he played it. Had I known how badly "Glen Henley" treated him, I wouldn't have gone to their concerts or purchased their music. I certainly won't in the future.

Back in Gainesville Florida he went to high school with Stephen Stills, became best friends with Bernie Leadon, got to know the Allman Brothers who taught him slide guitar and taught Tom Petty how to play guitar in his other job. All above are in R&R hall of fame. What a town for talent!

Love the joe Walsh riff at 2:50. I last saw The Eagles in 75. To me, the most entertaing people in the band were Don and Bernie. When Bernie left, so did the psirit of the Eagles. The rest of the band sounded like tired hacks. Don is a master!
