Where Vin tries to impact through the hole, was the best thing I’ve ever seen. We’ve all done it a million times! Love that they include that type of stuff!
This is legit my favorite build on TH-cam. Nothing fancy all business. And these are repairs people can relate to. Not wide body aventadors or $15k exhaust system like everyone else does
While I agree I also love seeing stuff like project binky, retro power cars, and driftworks builds as although they are well out of my budget it’s like video art, and sometimes the stuff can cross into 90s shitbox on a budget realms
@@DiegoAlvarez-lf8us Then realize one of the skrews was rusty and spend the rest of the day cleaning it up, then just buys another one on eBay that is put together, then proceeds to tear it all apart.
@@vwpassat444 Haha! I hope I'm wrong. That's a really cool project he's got. NA, light weight , clean... But knowing his history... I had even forgotten he had gotten another Raptor.
Another good trick with a phone is the slow mo recording. Used it on my Iphone to check play in the steering shaft and box on my 1970 cougar. You get to see what's turning before it does anything, also good for checking play in the rack
Speechless. Vin the setup on this p car is just DOPE. Thanks for sharing. Back in the day all this knowledge was hoarded and you needed to pay porsche tax to learn to work on your own car. This content is invaluable. Thank you Hoonigan and TH-cam!
But the Porsche will be fast and the AE86 only sounds like it's going fast, Heart needs to get a Beams swap first or just put it up against the RWB... And also Vins LS vs. Scottos S-line would be a good one if Vin still owns the LS and Scotto keeps the S-line running
Honestly, never been much of a Porsche person except for Bisi's electric Porsche and all the RWB Porsches like Scotto's but seeing Vin work on his makes me start to like them. Never be able to afford one, unless it was like a 914 rolling shell but still, they're growing on me.
I did this same setup to my 1979 SC. Running on the same NT-01's. Cracked the tub first time at the track. Like a huge crack by the way. 12 inches split the tub horizontally. Front and rear shock mounts needed to be reinforced to take the vertical load. Anyway something to check out. I'd be surprised if BBI didn't suggest it. Those dudes know there stuff.
German tanks in WWII also mostly had torsion bar suspension (Porsche also built Ferdinand tank destroyer(best K/D ratio) and Maus (188t- heaviest 2 tanks in the world)) and it was pretty complex. :) GJ Vin!
Dude dont be ashamed to steam clean it , it truly does make it faster via efficiency. Less weight( dirt gets heavy when its wet), less dirt and grime finding its way into u-joints , bearings, inbetween motor mounts, trans shift linkages, the list goes on . Point is , good work 👌
I think a lot of people would love to see an educational series on suspension geometry! Similar to how Suppy explained the 10k rpm k series build. I think would be super helpful for people looking to get into racing or to refine their current setups.
Nice. Thanks for sharing. I do have a question. I thought... when ever coil overs are installed in these older 911 that came stock with torsion bars, the shock tower should be reinforced due to the weight of the vehicle and all of the forces now acting on that upper shock tower. Which is basically sheet metal and was only designed to with-stand the forces of shocks... not the weight of the vehicle.
The dude who invented that blow air line system is making a killing lol ever shop I’m in is either switching over or has already. I did it about two years ago and was so worth it. It is super easy to install and I love it

Not a bad way to spend 15-20k not including labor. I've got a 78 SC that I'm building right now, and damn it's an expensive project. Can't wait to get her on the road this summer and jam our back roads. Sweet build man, excited to see how she runs out.

The alignment guy is a legend. Such a painstaking job.
My whole life I’ve wondered what that hole was for in the quarter panel...
The way he said them wheels were 16s reminded me of next Friday. "Nah they tens, but I keep them clean though" 😂

Once he gets the “nap time nova” to be on this vs that. AKA never
Scotto will never finish anything
