I have a 2007 Sequoia. It's my daily driver with 317k on it and still solid in every way. You have inspired me. It's nice to see what can be done to these beasts and how capable they are. Keep the content coming!
I've been doing stuff similar to what's in this video with a 4" lift (bracket up front, 80 series coils + spacers in the rear), 35" pizza cutters on the stock wheels, and a Harrop locker in the rear for the past six years or so. No LBJ failures but I do check them after every trip. Based on what I've seen and experienced, you can think of these things as basically stretched J120 Prados/GX470s.
For sure I use the rear one often. I engaged the front locker once on this entire trip. I'm still kind of scared of breaking axles/stub shafts. My main reason for getting it was because the stock spider gears failed 3 times in my front diff. Since installing the Eaton I have had zero issues
How are the Eaton lockers?? Would love some real life perspective on them. Really want a selectable locker for the rear of my 07 Sequoia@@treehouseoffroad
@@wayliengchoy576Just saw this. In my opinion they are super dependable and do their job wonderfully. Engagement is instant, doesn't take a full rotation like some people say it does.
I got my King triple bypasses and hydraulic bump stops for the rear relocation.. going in the shop next week. Then I'm doing triple bypasses behind my coilovers in the front with hydraulic pump stops also. Next after that RCV axles and new steering rack.
@@treehouseoffroad I'm even thinking about putting a LS3 in it 😅 of course I'm going to upgrade my U-joints also. Replacing my 52 inch light bar with a KC flex 4 light bar and flex 4 ditch lights I already have flex 4 on my bumper I want it kc'd out. Then I'm going to the inside to do refrigerator dual battery navigation system. But all that will happen over the next year I'm not going to do it all at once I'm not that rich LOL
Dude your truck is fantastic. You did a marvelous job building those long arms! Your buddy's 2nd gen Runner is also fantastic. I've got a Blazeland 2nd gen Runner with a supercharged 3.4, and it rallies in the rocks on 33's and lockers as well as almost anything. I really appreciate that you're a voice for the older trucks and for the guys who don't want to take out a second mortgage on their truck! LOL
Thank you. I love the whole idea behind the Blazeland kit. I believe people are more capable than they know. Hell I haven't had a single issue in the year since I extended my stock arms. Why did Blazeland stop making diy kits?
Man. I’ve got a lifted ‘02 I run and Big bears my ole stomping grounds. I grew up there and went to high school up there. Now I’m up in placerville. Just watched your rubicon one from ‘22. I own my own Automotive shop up here in placerville if you ever need anything for pre or post rubicon trips lmk. Great rig by the way, you gained a follower for sure.
I'm also going to Gus it up my steering rack mounts.. and weld straps. Just beef them up.. the stock rack mounts are real cheesey.. that's why a lot of sequoias go through steering racks.. I already have total chaos upgrade bushings for the rack. We're just trying to find a beefier steering rack.. so it may be a good idea if you just beef up your steering rack mounts if you haven't already..?
@@treehouseoffroad you can see mind moving when you turn hard right and hard left.. honestly I think you were the one that made me aware of it originally lol. My bad. I do remember watching your video on beefing them up now that I think about it..

Best 1st Gen Sequoia content out there!

Did you just loose the bead on the tire at the end or did the rim get bent? Nice trip man, wish I could get out riding more.
At the end we were rallying through the fire roads pretty quick to get back to the highway. I popped a bead at 15psi coming around a corner.
