My 25 XTP 1000 has the same park issue, after seeing your video I might check some of my bolts and nuts
My 24 700 xmr has the same issue with park. If I rock it, it will go in. Also my diff lock does the same but not as bad as yours. But I love my 700 so far
Good to know
Same tranny and diff essentially so makes sense
@@MudPuppyOffroad Working in a shop that deals with can am, I’ve noticed that park issue on a loooot of their machines new or old. The mavericks and the defenders are the same exact way. Usually takes a rock back and forth to get it to register
25 700 XU Pro same thing with the park
All the loose hardware would be an issue of improper assembly at the shop that put it together. They show up in boxes and get put together at the shop.

Allow me to upgrade your understanding
The park thing i think is due to the gearbox design change, so you don't have to kick it around as on g2.
The diff lock however, i had a problem when the machine engages and disengages diff lock while machine is in 4wd, till that "!" symbol shows up, but i think its caused by moisture, as i have not had any problems in dry weather.
I think you're right about the park thing. I'd rather deal with that than how hard the Gen twos were to shift. As far as moisture being related to the front differential lock, I highly doubt it, mine has done it on dry hill, climbs and stuff as well. I'm swapping out the actuator soon to try that fix
Oddly enough after I watched your video my park issue started as well. Idk why it did but I might just run it into the dealer and ask them what’s going on.
I never really find Can-Am dealerships to be helpful, but let me know what they say LOL
I wonder if they've worked something into the 850 tune for break in? Kinda like the seadoos where you dont get full power until certain hours are reached?
Could be! I am past the break-in. In the owner's manual I've not noticed an increase in power
My 2020 850 xmr was like that. Before 10 hrs it was sluggish and kept flashing brake at me everytime I water wheelie. After 10 hrs it like was a whole new machine.
@@redontheh3ad Interesting! Thanks, Red!
Our 2020 X3 has done the park issue for as long as I can remember so it seems to be just a can am thing.
Probably need some left to right axle variation for the diff lock pin to get in the hole and lock
Typically I would agree with you. 100% necessary for the Honda design, but this gen 2 can am design seems to lock in immediately on every other one I've driven
@MudPuppyOffroad unless it's a clutch design it would have to have some differential action to lock in. Maybe they changed the design.
Stalling problem is because the o2 sensor, in europe we have o2 sensors since 2019 and have same stalling problems. With gen 2 its easy, with buds 2 just uncheck the o2sensor heating
EMR 700 has no issues. It also has the O2 sensor...
Ive stall my 7hd 2025 in cold conditions also
You should check your slider shoes in the secondary of your 700. I did the mistake of not checking them... mine were so wear off that it break the aluminum sheave... it is cheap to change, but it will be +300$ for the sheave for me...
700 already gone lol
Overall, not bad.. hopefully the stalling issue fixes itself. The bolt torque issue is not acceptable, though, the dealer should have caught that.
Def good machine so far!
My maverick has done the same thing with shitfting into park since i got it
Same. The tune lets me start it in gear tho..
@ you can start it in gear by pushing the brake. Don’t need a tune for that
I wonder if it being in gear is why its so hard to put in diff lock? May be some kind of saftey on this atv. It'll probably all get better the more you ride it, i do like the looks and front bumper off of it.
It's the same diff as my xmr700. 700 has always locked in smooth regardless of gear position
@MudPuppyOffroad Gotcha, I guess it's one of those things while you're at home, and it works fine, lol.
Buying a new machine in the next few weeks. I’m so back and forth with the 700 and the 850!!! Also. How come the 1000 comes with the j hook handle bars. And the mud strap and the 850 doesn’t. ?? So odd. Does the 700 rip?? I feel like I will love the 700. But feel that I will lack the power. Thoughts?
700 is plenty of fast, just doesn't sound good
It not odd they add that to 1000 to make it a little different
the diff lock problem may be because your at a stop, they want you to be rolling less than 20mph and off the throttle when locking the diffs, page 106 in the manual.
I've tried that way too. Same issue frequently. What's confusing is that my 700 is much smoother
@@MudPuppyOffroad yeah my 700 goes into diff lock no problem only issue i have is it wont start without an absurd amount of cranking at less than 20 farenheit. sad for a canadian machine.
@Mud puppy. just did my terache gear reduction and the clutch adj bolt gott stuck in the case and stripped out. ordered a new bolt but how should I retap the front case.
There are no threads in the case. The first thing to do is to try to heat it up real good and Hammer it in with a punch. If that doesn't work you'll have to drill it out which is very tricky.
The threads are on that adjuster piece on the inside of the case made of steel so you don't worry about threads.
Can we get a video on that Xr lol
I learned that annoying is you favorite word 😅
If that's all you learned in your comprehension is low LOL
So why did you get the 850 instead of 1000
If you have previously had 1000? Was it just so new all you could get at the time knowing the hp really wasn’t much difference?
Could you explain maybe a video what all is the difference in the two? I think handlebars but not sure what else.
Thanks
The 850 and 1,000 both share the same 999cc V-Twin setups. The 850 however is limited by the ECU. Meaning he can swap out ECUs and/or a tune will have the bike operating at or above the power of the 1000.
I have a whole other video on this. I'm going to link it below. You can watch it for yourself.

@@BuckGuy- so different cams, larger intake, different tune, 19 hp with factory warranty as is, besides possibly losing it retuning it, mud strap, dual breaks over single, different handlebars. All for $1600 or just 10% more; definitely a better deal choosing the 1000 from the dealer.
@dganlc there are no significant differences other than clutch weights and tune.
I’m an idiot lol I thought my diff lock was doing the same thing turns out you just push the diff lock on don’t hold it.🤦♂️
Yeah I've tried it both ways unfortunately
...the stalling- and the 4wd NOT lock is unacceptable- spec. for just expens. machines ...
Can your really blame the suspension not being tightened by can am wouldn’t that be the dealer who put the bike togethers fault
The dealer does not touch the suspension. That all comes assembled in the pallet.
But the dealer is supposed to PDI the vehicle just like a car. If they don’t that would open them up to illegal issues.
@blackbobjo lol Have you ever dealt with an ATD dealership? It's usually some 16-year-old making minimum wage that does the setup on these things

✌️🇨🇦
I love all this new technology garbage
Get a Honda and quit whining
I have 5 Hondas lol
Did you not see the Honda in the background??

You literally shit talk on can am ur entire life then u go and buy one bro why!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol
I've purchased 5... Which is why I can talk shit about them lol
Can am is the only company that's been investing any development into atvs lately so I will support them
If you don't want him to talk shit then make can am make a good atv from the factory lol and mudpuppy didn't u say u was gonna get the 2025 can am 700?
its not sh.t talkin- its called review- which is very good for other owners- see what to take care of- like the loose bolts ! ;-)
