From 4:37 onward - are you using the hollyland mic? Also - great video - I suggest adding your thoughts/impressions throughout the video and not just at the end. Also - chapters. :)
I can’t seem to get this to connect with my iPhone 13 Pro Max? I’ve seen all reviews saying you just plug it in and start using it, but for me, it’s not connecting at all? Anyone know why?
Both microphones record in stereo at same time - as far as I can tell. I don't think you can separate out the tracks. It may depend on what recording software you're using. The adapter for a SLR or DSLR camera does allow recording in mono
Nice video Clive, seems like a very good bit of kit, well suited to the use cases you gave as examples of. I wondered though if there was a desktop version of the app and if therefore you could plug the receiver in as a dongle on your pc...to use for conference calls or streaming maybe?
ONLY thing I don't like about these is the fact you can't change the connector. Sometimes I use my DSLR , other times my phone. So I need to buy the same thing twice? This is the only thing the DJI has over this at the moment
All you have to do is buy the camera version. It comes with a cable for USB C, Lightning, and the TRS audio cable. I go back and forth between my ZV1, zoom calls for work, and my iPhone using this mic. Works great on all platforms and you only have to buy one.
The version I have is for Android phones - so requires a USB C connection, they do a version for DSLR cameras etc that uses a 3.5mm microphone jack. So if you use those for TED talks etc, then it's possible. Hollyland also do other wireless mics that maybe more versatile and suitable for your requirements.
I purchased lark m2 combo edition I have usbc and lighting also 3.5 cable and a receiver not sure if it works for Presentations similar to TED talks Do you have any suggestions ?
I've used the USB to connect with my PC, and it worked great (it's plug and play) - I plugged it in and just selected it in my settings, I'm less familiar with Macs, but yes it should work with the MacBook M1
Yeah, annoyingly my room is not very acoustic as I sit in front of a large window, 2 large screens, so the other mic really picks up the boxy room sound, as I have to have it out of shot about 12 inches away. The advantage with the wirless mic is it is closer in and cuts out the echo.
If you mean for PC, well it's not designed for PC - HOWEVER, I tried it and it actually works. The PC recognised it as a "wireless mic" and I recorded myself. A little more quiet than my standard mic - but it works. So yes - should work for Discord and video calls etc. Same if you mean for mobile phone use (although you still have an issue of needing headphones via bluetooth or something.
Has anyone tried to hide this under somebody's shirt or clothing - so it's not visible on camera at all? If so, how did it sound? Did it make a weird bump?
I have seen people use this method. Inevitably there will be some rubbing etc as you'd get with any lavalier mic you hide under a shirt, but it is possible - just depends on how much movement there is.
Especially with the black friday deals right now I’m looking at the kit with phone and camera reciever together
You really can’t beat it
Just bought mine. It was a steal
Wow great piece of kit and so miniature. Top shelf review, thanks for posting 👌🌄
Just came across your page and am now a fan and NEW subscriber.
Love the review and am now going to purchase later today before Cyber Monday ends.
Awesome! Thank you!
Hey mate! May I ask, is the audio adjusted in this video or is the audio exactly as it was, raw from the mic?
There's a touch of audio post production added.
Thank you for this video! Receiving mine tomorrow 😁
Question: Why wouldn't you use the noise cancellation at all times?
It can impact on overall sound quality of original recording. You may want to add noise cancellation in post production.
Does the receiver work when plugged into a computer?
Yes it does.

Yes, from 4:37 it is all Hollyland Mic. I've added chapters, so thanks for the suggestion. 👍🏾
Would u be able to mount the back clip of the mic on a hot/cold shoe mount?
The clip it comes with opens to about a little less than a 1cm, so depending on the thickness of the shoe - yes.
Thank you! I will buy this. This mic is the new wave
Thank you! I'm planning to buy a mic soon
the bigest youtuber use this becasue he get payyyy
You do too
Love the Stadia stuff in the background. Damn I miss Stadia. Google really screwed up with that.
@@jasonspruance yep. Crying shame...the tech was awesome 👍

very nice dude and good product presentation
Hi. Can you record stereo with two microphones? People say it records mono and you can't separate audio channels for two different sources. Thanks.

@@CliveIllenden Thank you.

I'll have to test them out. There may be different receiver you can get - like the one for the DSLR camera
@@CliveIllenden cheers, lovely production by the way, someone has been grafting!
I tested them on the PC and they work! It recognises it as a "wireless mic". A little more quiet than my standard Rode Mic, but works ok. 👍🏾
@@CliveIllenden thank you very much, that's great.
Is there a way to adjust the gain
How hard would it be for rode holly land dji etc to put a mute button on these things
ONLY thing I don't like about these is the fact you can't change the connector. Sometimes I use my DSLR , other times my phone. So I need to buy the same thing twice? This is the only thing the DJI has over this at the moment
I bought a separate adapter for my DSLR - it was only about £50. Works a treat. 👍

Can i use both mic at a same time in a single device?
@@uniqueunish7148 yes. You can use both mics at same time....it records as one track.
Excellent review. Thanks so much mate. 🔥👍🏻
Going to have to give these a go!
How do I turn the noise cancellation on?
Just press the little button on the mic. Indicator light should turn green
@CliveIllenden Thank you , I had a blonde moment!
Can we use this mic for teaching or in scenarios like TED talks ?

to be honest you sound much better in the wireless mic that in your regular mic, you regular mic have some echo

Why is it not BlueTooth???
can I use it on discord and video calls would love since my sony wh 1000xm5 has bad microphones

It cost about half the price of DJI mic and still sounds clear, damn!
Buen video amigo
glad you enjoyed 👍🏾
By the way Marcus is using it cuz they're paying him $1,000 an episode. Trust me he doesn't work for free
