As a person aged 76 it interests me how things come back into style. Everything old becomes new again. I love the room and congratulate you for taking previous criticisms to heart and incorporating Noah into the space in such a sweet way. The heart artwork is the perfect concept for a bedroom. I just thought the solid black was the only harsh element in the room. I immediately thought of ways to DIY the same piece in a more serene way...limewash, stitching, or using lines or text to soften up the solid.
At first when she said “I’m also going to keep a power bar in here”, my first thought was, oh a snack! Good idea lol! But seriously, the under bed drawers are a great solution to no nightstands. Beautiful room! I just love Alexandra’s esthetic 💕
James missed an opportunity to drag Alexandra when she said "sometimes a few inches really make a difference". He had to insert a clip of Michael saying "that's what she said" lol.
Painting the pipe to match the art piece really works. I think the room has a cohesive feel, it’s light, serene and peaceful. I also like the linen pillows and the throw blanket. They add warmth.
After following your design I decided to calm down my sleeping area as well. It is not a simple task but little by little it will get done. Right now it is way too busy and color filled. It was originally designed to be my creative work space and now is my sleeping space. I live in a one bed room apartment and have to be very resourceful in the design aspect of the space. Thank you for the motivation, I think I will sleep better and will recuperate faster from the surgery scheduled. I consider design the first step in preparation for future health. Our environment is very important in mental and physical health. Also I love to absorb your gentle energy ...catch all your videos and have enjoyed you for a long time now. love the calm neutral vibe going on, though for me the stark black heart is a bit too bold for this zen space. Love seeing you go outside the box on this one. Also, are the drawers open that are under the bed and if so do they gather the dust and kitty hair? Let us know how this is working out and any tweaks you end up doing. Great Job !!!
I love it all, but what you hung above your bed looks like a heartbeat and fits perfectly, creating a balance AND drawing one’s eye to the unique angle - so I especially love that!

Love that art piece above the bed and how you integrated the nub. In an old building, that thing in the wall is probably a gas pipe for a lamp, like before electricity was widely used. I had one just like that in my bathroom.
I think that the room looks great, blending two peoples styles can be hard, but I think that you did it well. Consulting with your partner is critical and compromising and blending your styles works best.
Beautifully done! You really did achieve the ‘Zen’ feel. We have two small floating shelves next to our king size bed. That’s where I put my diffuser. I installed two wall lights because I want as much off the floor as possible.
The wood artwork over the bed kinda reminds me of an electrocardiogram line, so the fact that you put a heart on the opposite wall is kind of giving me life! xD It SO works!
Love it! The limewash wall colour was the perfect warm neutral and it blended so well with the art piece. You did a great job, your bedroom looks so serene.
Really good space, great colour story. You nailed the minimal aesthetic/feel. Though can I be critical and say that I think the heart picture is a miss. It's the wrong scale for the space, and confuses the symmetry of having items (lamp, mirror, stool) only in the far corner of the room.
I achieved this type of effect in my huge bedroom with vaulted ceilings and a lot of walls (built my arm muscles) in a suede beige-y kind of look and it stayed that way for 18 years until I just got so sick of it and repainted-- a gargantuan task by myself. The calming gray color and change-out of windows and bed coverings and artwork really made such a gentle, relaxing feeling in the room. Good job you and Noah are doing melding the look and feel of your home to suit both of you!
Wow, it looks so peaceful, and like a blend of the two of you. Congrats on pulling that off. Loving this space - I feel like the lime wash really enhances the art piece and plays so nicely with the deeper tones in the runner at the foot of the bed! Lovely!
Really attractive and calming palette - and I was hoping you were going to incorporate the little wall-knob into the artwork, the proportions seemed so close that it would work! So seeing you do that might be my favourite part, ha. I'd wondered if a little disc of wood might even work - like those wall "hooks" you can get which are basically smooth, curved-off polished wooden circles... but I don't know if they come in the right size. Could just 3m-stick it to the end of the knob if so :).
