My favorite auto knifes are 2 inch long drop point aka fillet blade, heavy duty stainless for fishing; 6 inch tanto saw back with hook by the base of the knife blade, titanium, black color for edc, and the basic saw back tanto, black color, and deep pocket clip. All the knives need to be non-reflecting, heavy duty, reliable, and easy to maintain.
Have 3 Kalashnikov's, an AUS-8, a D2 and an S30v. All drop points. I've carried one of these every day for the last 3 years, and open them 30-50 times a day for everything from opening boxes to splitting CAT5 wire to slicing summer sausage. Love these knives, but they're cheap enough that losing one isn't the end of the world

Blade HQ great video but you guys need to put in the title “Californians don’t watch, you’ll just end up raging” 🤣. Kershaw is trying with the launch but the length just kills me emotionally lol.
I just got a Boker xxl Kalashnikov in desert warrior. Between the D2 blade steel and the 9" overall length, and it's awesome. Was even bigger than I thought it was going to be.
I'm partial to my Piranha P1. The anodized desert camo finish just pops. Pictures on the website don't do it justice. It opens with a satisfying snap, and weighs next to nothing. Just a fun everyday knife. Thanks Blade HQ!
For whatever reason I keep letting you guys pull me into these videos and I always end up with at least one new knife added to the old wishlist... but that wiskers in general is awesome production or custom I dig it.
Do you not realize that the lock can also be used when the blade is in the open position? I've always thought that was more of the reason for one. That way is you are using the knife for hard use you can actuate the extra lock so even if you accidentally press the firing button it won't fold up on your hand. It's not just for making sure it won't fire in your pocket.

When I’ll be more familliar with carrying/operating an auto, maybe I’ll get myself something like Magic Whiskers or a Launch
A lot of people look down on Shrade but I must differ. Shrade is a tough knife and holds their own especially when it comes to the survival knives category!
They lost me forever after the Jess X disaster. Chris Tanner put his soul into that design. It was indescribable seriously not bullshiting. They went behind his back changed the grind from saber to hollow and it broke EVERY time. They went from a $70 beast to nothing in one move.
Chris Basic1 yeah it sucks. Are you guys going to remake the balisong buyers guid? There's tons of new options especially for the cheaper side!
We probably will at some point.
You didn't tell the price on 2 of them, I think it was the Gerber 06 and the Benchmade Mediator.
I just ordered my first Spyderco off the website, a Tenacious in green!
You won't regret it. It has been my go to work knife for years. Takes a beating and always comes back for more.
Boker Strike in D2 and Kershaw Launch 4 are on my "to buy list".
Gotta love those boker launch knives
just ordered the desert warrior sketch!! can’t wait!
The dagger by boker is my pick! It's talks dirty to me every time it snaps!
Great video. You covered the gamut! That beautiful ProTech Magic BR-1 Actually has a titanium bolster. I think you inadvertently said aluminum.
Doh! You are correct. There were a lot of specs in this one. I thought we caught all the mistakes but that one slipped through.
Blade HQ No problem! There were more specs per second than usual! As my reward, please me send the knife 😆
My favorite auto is my Protech tr3. Super snappy.
Gonna go with the Lund next I'm thinking. Also want to try a Piranha.
Regarding the Boker Kalashnikov XXL, are there any plans to make a left handed version or one with other blade shapes other than Bowie?
The Piranha P-1 is AMAZING!!!! Love em!!!!!
Piranha is underrated.
I love the color scheme on that 9400.
I love the look and quality of Protech but they are not safe to carry in my pocket, I have several and I can't carry any of them because the button is not protected enough and I've had them open up in my front pocket without knowing it until I reached in to get some cash and ended up with a gash instead. Very dangerous indeed. So sad because I like them so much, but I knife that stabs me is a deal breaker.
I really recommend the kihon great and insanely good looking knife
I live in Canada so it’s a no go for auto. But I would get the ProTech Sprint in some kind of upper level finishing.
Pro-tech makes killer manuals too
@@brandonbutler7643 I want one of those Malibu! But the question from Zac was about the autos on the table.
Gotcha. I just know they do manual versions of most of their designs. Especially if you start looking at the custom model's.
If I can't have the Whiskers then my choice would be the Mediator for sure.
