      I’m mostly self-taught and I totally agree! I’ve been playing for 20 years, and I realize that a lot of what Warren has taught (as well as others) I’ve been doing for years, but I didn’t know the theory behind it.

    I am studying this video for two hours straight... It has a lot of interesting voicings and many other stuff... And what made me come here is transcribing "Stairway to heaven". They make this movement right in the beginning of the song, when they use D major as a passing chord to get from C to Fmaj7. The song is in Am. I am so glad to discovered this and you helped me understand the concept even better! Thank you! Greetings from Serbia

    Humbly, Ravel and Debussy are "impressionism music" (end of 19th century to 20th) and Tchaikovsky "romantism" as you said, at least it's what we learn in France. Much love, thanx for sharing knowledge !

      Piano Lesson with Warren 14:15

    • @PianoLessonwithWarren
      @PianoLessonwithWarren  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Loud Production Gang yes the home chord would be C, but Neo Soul doesn’t follow traditional rule of harmony and key.
      However if you want to create a relation, the Eb is the chromatic median for C, Bb is the b7 ( also the 5 of Eb) the Db is the b7 of Eb ( also the chromatic mediant for Bb).
      So overall, I’m just moving between the key of C to the key key of Eb.
