Yes, it’s very sad. But when you hear about these graduates having applied to more companies than I can even comprehend, at some point, if there just aren’t enough jobs, a bunch of people just aren’t going to get one and eventually just give up and try anything to get food.

Not desperate enough to get a job, even if it is a low paying one,and live with dignity, even though u are young and perfectly healthy in ur 20s and 30s....when u still have the capacity to strive more than any other periods of ur life.
These people would rather live in sloth and apathy and idleness, dig through garbage and e whooour themselves on the internet and beg for any donations, much like a darksydephile a professional online beggar,
Anyone find it funny?back in the late 2000s and throughout the 2010s when china was a much poorer and destitute place, people even the young folks millennials in China are willing to swallow their pride and ego and go work in factories like foxconn or making rice cookers and steam irons....for 5,10 rmb an hour, because that was what living in poverty and having no choice looks like, now china is a much much more richer and developed place, 19 trillion GDP not 4.3 trillion just overtook Japan in 2008, these young gen zs I presume live in a society where they would not perish or starve if they do not work for extended periods of time months or years, sitting in rooms surrounded by computer equipment, tech, lightning fast internet infrastructure and all the cup noodles and eggs u can eat, they choose to idle and while their lives away playing league of legends and the females choose to beg online for donations from......
Because the foundation of the country is already there, this is not poverty, the ability not to work for half a year or even years and play video games all day, that itself is a privilege....
While their parents generation probably created the most billionaires and millionaires in any generation,I suspect the gen z and alpha of china will fulfill the prophecy of being the poorest wealth percentile owners ,not because of the lack of opportunity but because they having the previous generations build everything for them, are birds in a gilded cage by china 's relative standards, when presented with choices at every point in life they will always choose the softest easiest path of least resistance,do nothing and wallow in self pity.

Americans poor is unlike and nothing compared to the poor in China. Americans have no idea how fortunate they are. In America, there is so much help. When I was poor, I went to free clinic, free birth control, free food from food pantry, free clothes and others are so willing to help out. All you have to do is work hard, work very hard. It is not like that in China… that is why there is no desire to work hard anymore. It is just a vicious cycle for them. They see that hard work didn’t get them anywhere.. no govt support, mass exodus of investing companies, no jobs.. it is a depressing future for these poor people.

This has been percolating for decades; you could see poor people in Internet cafes from the start, but the difference is most used to work regularly for long hours, just stealing any time in the cafe they could as they only lived in dormitories or those single bed-wide 'rooms'. It's certainly crunch time. Living day to day is fine until you need something more. They can't afford medical treatment, not that most people can, and if they become frail, sick or elderly, they may die without support; same drill for decades but worse. It's extremely vulnerable, and China is falling down to a new third world standard after never having a chance (just a propagandised dream to incentivise slave morality) to get to a 'first world' standard, which is unraveling as well. The ponzi is collapsing....

So they work a day, rest a few days and only work when they need money or else they beg from their family and relatives. No one is happy that they have no future and no hope. Such life brings short term happiness due to the lack of responsibility and accountability but sooner or later, it will hit them hard.

@@Ginasgusa I lost my business due to COVID, and it changed everything for me. I lost my ambition because I realized that nothing lasts forever. I invested a lot of time, money, and effort into my business, but after COVID, I understand now that anything can happen: world war 3, another lockdown, or even an unexpected death. So, why work so hard?
I've decided not to open another physical business or work excessively hard again. Instead, I've been focusing on upgrading myself and doing things I love, like playing music, doing pottery, and learning new skills. I no longer care about money or responsibilities as much, especially seeing how rapidly the world is changing. I see my friends who have a lot but are always stressed and worried.
Deep down, I know I'll always be okay. I'll always have food and shelter, and honestly, that's all I need. As long as I'm happy and healthy, I'm content. It's not sad-I'm happier and more at peace than ever. But I must say I am blessed, my situation is different from them..I'll always have a family's home to go back to if I need.
Ps. I live in Canada btw if that matters.

When I was growing up there was a group like this in my city. They were called "The Riffs" (for riff raff). A group of homeless teens and runaways who did odd jobs around the city to pay for food and to rent a house that the dozens of them lived in. They also did some illegal things to get by (deal drugs, prostitution, theft, etc.). In general, they were nice people making the best of a situation. They had a good rep so the other groups on the streets would come to their aid in a pinch.

The sad luck of China is that somewhere between the end of 2025 and into 2027 there will be a severe world recession that will last at least two to five years before climbing up again to begin a new bull run. This is the classic cyclical business cycle that happens about every 18 to 20 years, especially concerning real estate. I do not think this coming recession will last less than a year, and I would be surprised if a new bull run starts prior to mid-2027. China should be thankful if they can break even on the GDP numbers for the next decade or so, but I suspect much of their infrastructure will deteriorate, so, actual data will indicate they will have at least 50% of the time have negative GDP that will be unreported off and on for the next two decades.
