I have had my Presto Canner for 3 years now and have been PETRIFIED to try it. I have a garden and always have way more carrots and other vegetables than I can possibly eat. I am generous but I wanted to benefit from my hard work a little longer. I stared at my Presto Canner and my carrots simultaneously…..googled canning carrots with Presto Canner and ….voila! Thank you for making it look sooo easy. I have subscribed and will get my carrots ready to can tonight. I shall keep you posted. I am 64 and am still learning. ❤
Remember if you take the carrots out of the jar and heat them to boiling or close to boiling for 10 minutes that will kill any botulism toxins. If you canned them correctly there will be not toxins to begin with.
I'm just beginning to get interested in canning and have watched several videos, which white frankly have overwhelmed me! So, thank you for a clear concise, non rambling video!! I hope that made sense, 😆.
THANK YOU for this! I am 56 and have only hot water bathed because of a pressure canner accident when I was a small child helping my mom pressure can..I was 11 and it scared me so bad I would not pressure can..The lid literally exploded off the top of the canner as my mom was removing it and it hit the ceiling and left a dent in the tiles.🙀I was standing 4ft away from the stove by the sink with my back turned, I heard a loud noise, mom screamed out and as I turned around I saw my mom was shaking, she was very lucky she did not get hurt..so was I… My mom, god bless her fearless soul, went out and got another pressure canner and continued to can all our garden veggies and meats like a trooper…That is how we lived back then in the 60s & 70s, off the grid, growing , raising & canning all our veggies and meats, jelly jams and storing in the root cellar. We even ground our own wheat and corn to make our breads and made our own goat cheeses and butter from our goats milk.. GOOD OLE DAYS is was. 😊 I have literally been petrified of pressure canning since that day…lol But after watching your video, I am going to order the presto pressure canner and try to pressure can as I feel more confidant about the safety of todays pressure canners after watching your video….THANK YOU👍🙌🏻
Not only your 1 of the most prettiest girls I have ever seen (same dress style : ), but you can probably relate to multiple pressure canners going at once. I love the pressure canned Chilli. It takes a alot of time, but, so good. my workmate cans turkey, venison, lots of meats, and he finally tried chili yesterday. Quarts or 1/2 gallons. 11 psi 90 minutes. Your chicken noodle looked scrumdillyishous.. good job. Good presentations.. very relatable, and appear as salt of the earth people, and yeah,, it gets cold here in MN to. Thanks.
I just wanted to let you know I find this video so helpful and often come back to it! Especially when a period of time has gone by and I haven't pressure canned anything in a while, I always get that moment of panic lol. Thank you so much!
This is awesome! This is the exact same pressure canner I bought last year. I am a visual learner, so I appreciate your video showing me how to use this particular canner. I used it the first time to water bath tomatoes a few days ago, and that was great! Thank you, and thank you for the videos you've done with the Amish!
You are the only one who managed to get me to try my Presto pressure canner on my glass top stove! I thank you, and my 25 lb bag of carrots that were sitting there, staring me in the face as to what I could do with them before they went bad, thank you!
Thank you so much, for your videos! This is the best canning video forme to,use my canner that has been sitting! I feel much better and confident! God bless you,I watch you faithfully! I really wish I could get that amish canning book ! Been trying all out! I won't give up! Thanks again
I've had my pressure cooker for 2 years and have been so afraid of this process. Thank you so much for this video. I am so confident now to get that bad boy out and start canning my food.
Great video. Super appreciate the detailed information. Im new to canning and ordered my presto pressure canner. Cant wait to try it. Have a fantastic and blessed day. HAPPY CANNING
Thank you for this!!! I bought the same canner back in the spring, but then read somewhere that I can't use it on a flat top stove. Then I started researching propane burners, but then read somewhere else that you're not supposed to do that either! I was getting very frustrated and discouraged, so finding this has given me new hope. I've got a freezer full of tomatoes from the garden and meat from our animals that we have raised, so now I finally feel like I can start processing it all for the pantry so I can fill the freezer up again. Yay!
Thank you. I used to have one without the gauge, just the weight and the safety valve. I never knew what is going on in there, lost my interest and gave away the device. Now, after watching this video, I can start again. Mark.
Ty so so so much for explaining each step in a way for beginners to understand. I Been binge watching all your videos, there great . Ty again an I look forward to watching more videos 😊
I’m so happy I found you today!! I have everything to start canning but I’ve been afraid to try and start. But after seeing this video I’m going to do it. But first I’m going to go watch some of your other videos. Thank you so much for sharing. Blessings to you and your family.
Such an amazing video! Thank you!! I just got my canner today and the instructions are very confusing to me 😅 This made it so simple and not scary at all! Seriously, THANK YOU 🙏
I have been watching your videos and now have the courage to pressure can. I canned some carrots tonight and a pork roast cut into cubes. It was not as scary as I thought it would be. Hardest thing was just trying to keep the psi at 10 which is for my elevation. Thank you for your great content. I have learned a lot.
I’m new to canning and I have been nervous to begin. I’ve watched a couple of other videos and I was still unsure about it. Thank you so much for your informative video. I now feel confident to do my first recipe. Your video was excellent.
Great video, I'm searching all over YT for pressure canner tips, this is a great one; I'm a new water bath canner, and I don't like the time it takes to fill up the four-cup measuring cup and put into the canner; plus my water bill has risen, LOL; so no more searching for tips, this is great; I'm a new subscriber to your wonderful channel, and have used your MAKEIT10 discount for lids; thank you!
This really help alleviate some of my fear. I've read about but actually seeing someone go through the actions (with helpful tips) makes me feel like I can do it.
Thanks so much. I just ordered this Presto model. I have many years of pressure cooking but never a pressure canner. You explained it well. I have no fear of exploding but you showed me nice videos that use the canner.
I just did the carrots and the chicken stock and holy moly what a breeze I seriously feel like a fool having my canner for so many years and afraid of using it. I also made PIEROGI and dear baby Jesus this kitchen is on FIRE. Thank you so much you have no idea how excited I am to just get cooking and canning. You are great teacher. I can not thank you enough. My husband also thanks you lol
You are a wonderful teacher. I have been so afraid to start canning and was overwhelmed. I thought it would be so complicated. You make is look so easy, which is the skill of a wonderful teacher. Thank you!!
I'm 65 and wanted to can for many years. I've been watching videos on all the different pressure canners from Presto regular canners ,electric canners ,All American Canners for the past few years. I finally jumped down the rabbit hole and decided on the Presto 16 quart (which was delivered today). I'm also one who based on a bad experience my mom had with a canner of green beans exploding and 3rd degree burns I just couldn't do it. I typed in Presto pressure canner tonight your video was the first one that popped up. Your calming voice and such clear instructions and information have put me at ease. I (Can) do this.. Thank you I just subscribed and will update on my progress.
I'm interested in pressure canning, but have been scared to do so. Thank you for walking us through step by step, and talking about the safety concerns! Can't wait to try this out next year :)
Thank you for explaining this process. I hope to purchase a pressure canner before our next growing season. You really took the fear of this process away for me. You did a fantastic job of explaining in such a simple form.
I started canning not to long ago. I was also fearful that my canner was going to blow up but after watching a lot of videos I was able to do it. I think emphasizing the safety features of the new canners is crucial because I feel that the main deterrent for people to start canning. Thanks beautiful young boricua.
I'm new to canning, Ive just purchased the exact canner. Ive watched a few videos making this one the most helpful. thank you for your video I will be watching more.
This was a GREAT video! I have always been nervous about doing oressure canning, but i also know it takes much longer to water bath and that is not cost efficient. Ive it ever canned jelly, but im ready to venture out!
OMG thank you so much. You answered a question I was so worried about…Going over the recommended pressure on the gauge. I watched several video’s but none addressed the concern I had. Great videos, please keep them coming❤️

Have you thought of using a weighted jiggler? Its a real game changer. You dont have to watch the gauge. Watch suttons daze on utube called using a weighted presto regulator. Im glad I switched cause it makes canning more easy and fun. Have a blessed day.
Just got this pressure canner model and this video was EXCELLENT. Thank you so much. I feel more at ease using it for the first time. Well done. New subscriber here. 💛💛💛💛

Hey hey! Great video!
Thank you!!! I literally have a batch in the canner right now, freaking out because pressure is a little over and my heat is on the lowest setting, since you’re quick to the point I am no longer freaking out :)
It was so much easier to can on gas stove. With electric stove, I find I have to babysit the canner. You have to keep adjusting the heat dial on my stove once you've done the 10 minutes of venting. I have on of those smooth, glasstop stoves. They look pretty but they aren't easy to cook on. Been cooking for 58 years and canning for 37. Most difficult stove to use I've ever had. I think most electric stoves are being made with the smooth glasstop these days
Tks for the clear instructions
Great explanation
Thank you...I am now ready to venture in the preasure canning world. I want to be able to can meat(venison) I would love to just water bath but I have not come across you doing that.
