- Trying to find the best algorithm and interpolation method for 60FPS Dragon Ball Super. This was the smoothest I could get with the least amount of artifacts. I've come across too many 'fake' 60 FPS videos on youtube with no interpolation method used and decided to do my own.

Yes. That was a throwback to Namek when he first transformed and the end when he turned was a throwback to when he defeated Kid Buu. That was such a great way to end it.
Takahashi is a brilliant coordinator when it came to his fights in Super. He literally put in details that almost no animator would think, especially subtle or minor details that added gravitas to any situation.
They know SSJ is what we really love. They also used something similar when Goku fought Beerus in the movie. SSJ was a form obtain by truly surpassing his limits over a loss of a friend. The god forms have no emotional ties so we don't care when they transform into it and UI was cheesy plot writing so it's good but not good you know?
RIP Akira Toriyama. Your creations will carry on as legends throughout all time. Know that you have influenced and shaped our childhoods for the better.

The fact that Frieza, the most untrustworthy and self serving character in the entire series is the one to make the sacrifice play and demonstrate to Jiren what trust in battle looks like is truly amazing
Also the fact that Goku achieved a partnership with Frieza that he could really never achieve with Vegeta… it is truly amazing.
One of the many reasons, I preferred the anime version of this fight over the manga version.

It's incredible to see Frieza's development as a character. Up until this point, he wasn't a warrior, he was strong in DBZ but he was mostly a king and a warlord. The moment when he says "Throw me at him", he has left behind any kind of resentment he once had for Sayans, his old self. His training to become stronger, the battles in the tournaments, everything turned him into a full fledged fighter and the warrior instinct awakens. Jiren is the enemy in front of them, everything else is irrelevant. That's a true warrior spirit.

The fact that it ended with SSJ1 Goku and regular final form Frieza is such a perfect throwback to their original fateful battle on Namek. What a love letter to the OG fans.

As a kid (7 year old) I watched Goku vs Frieza on Namek, as a 21 year old, I watched them fight together. This is a serious goosebumps moment for us ,Dragon ball fans like me.

In the manga After the training with Wish , Goku and vegeta fought against jiren in their base form . Then After vegeta was knocked out frieza threw a death ball against jiren while Goku was blocking him and then he turned in Golden form and knocked the two of them out of the ring with himself .

I think the thing that hits the hardest is that through the entire fight, Frieza puts absolute faith and trust in Goku. He doesn't do anything to undermine the goal because he knows that despite his naivete, Goku will guarentee he is resurrected. No backtalk, no backstabbing, He simply falls into perfect sync with Goku.
Goku even said he should know better than anyone. Goku was going to spare him way back on namek and Frieza botched it. Goku was willing to let Frieza go in resurrection f but Frieza botched it. Goku keeps his word as long as the other party does the same
It’s why I have this as my favourite Db anime Arc, the theme of trust makes me happy lol

@@keystrix3704 I'm a frieza fan too and when Goku Said "I will keep my promise as long as you keep yours, *you know that, don't you?* ". I was expecting a flashback from namek when Goku shared his energy with frieza so he could escape the planet.
It's a mixture of Frieza knowing he's the only one of him and Goku to betray the others trust. Goku never went back on a promise. And Frieza had to win, or else he and his universe would be destroyed. He had to good reasons to cooperate, he knew Goku would keep his promise, and if he didn't do his part, the 7th universe would be destroyed.
Could u imagine if gohan deadass threw a senzu bean to jiren n be like "whats wrong dad, didn't u wanted a challenge?"

I liked the whole thing, but the series was INFINITELY better in the manga version. Almost EVERY problem from the anime wasn't in the manga. For example, Cauflia didn't go Super Saiyan through a tingly back, Trunks didn't randomly unlock the spirit bomb, and Andriod 17 was only as strong as SSJ3 instead of SSB.
It's more like stupidity in it's best as Goku ssb kaiokan and vegeta ssbe paired up can't even put a scratch on jiren then how the actual fuck is Goku base and freeza base can put up a fight against jiren and eliminate him!!????? It's called zero LOGIC!!! I think writers used used Thier ass instead of brain for scripting this bs🤷🏻♂️🙄

I've watched this so many times that I finally noticed how tired everyone is in this final fight. You never once see jiren using energy beams or emiting his red aura. Bro's brute forcing his way to win.
Meanwhile, frieza and goku's last ounce of energy was used trying to push jiren out cuz they also didn't shoot beams at him or emitting their auras until the last moments. Android 17 was the exception to this because he has unlimited energy but lacks the brute force to brawl against jiren. That's why all he could do was support the other two by shooting at jiren.
This fight was definitely peak Dragonball. The hype it gave was and is still one of the top anime moments.
Absolutely!! That bouncing in and out of Super Saiyan may seem like a small detail but it adds so much! He’s putting everything he has into this one last ditch effort to win for his universe.

And to give an example of how tired they were, during the Cell Saga Goku had trained to maintain Super Saiyan to such an extent that it was trivial for him. He could virtually stay in that form damn near forever. He's so utterly exhausted that merely trying to enter Super Saiyan is now an exhausting effort in and of itself, and he can't maintain it due to fatigue, so he's flickering in and out trying to maintain it.
This anime moment is peak, but the ai interpolation ruins it. If you pause at any moment, there is a 90% chance to see a Janky mess, mixing a frame and an other.

Hats off to the entire production staff because the final episodes of this tournament are some of finest in all of anime. Every mark was hit, nothing was missed.
They put everything into those episodes. Some of the best anime episodes I've ever watched
the jump from typical DB frame-reusing to a high-quality, smooth animation gave me whiplash
Yeah it's funny because recently i watched the black arc to the final and then i watched the beginning again and the animation really had an awesome improvement
theres definitely a lot of moments that couldve been more amazing if the animation didnt cut the scene off (At least vegito shined in the arc)

@@ayoraingam5719 actually it's real. I looked it up on the fandom. That tackle move by Frieza was first named the Nova Strike in the Budokai Tenkaichi video game series. And that move when Goku and Frieza pull the move off together at the same time was named Miracle of Universe 7 first in Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle.
That felt like foreshadowing of something greater, when they fought together it was like a whole new force was unleashed, there auraburst formed a Phoenix.

@@macmiller9510 DBS ended with the tournament of power ending. The movies Broly, and Super Hero; Im assuming are not canon, but take place after the tournament of power. The manga series continues onto other plots/villains goku and vegeta face as they also get stronger (goku getting better at ultra instinct, vegeta basically tapping into god of destruction energy.)

@@a1morrison290 I believe it’s the same for that form but super Saipan blue drains stamina and ultra instinct as well, and keep in mind goku broke his power barries by pushing pass his limit which also drained him as well to where he couldn’t maintain super Saiyan 1 form but I feel like they wrote it like that so both goku and Frieza would be in the same form they fought each on namek in , cause remember as goku first turned super Saiyan his hair flickered from black to yellow just like it did in super

I have said it once before and I will say it again, this fight was so well coordinated and animated. It blows my mind everytime
They put so much heart into the fight. One of my favorite bits is after Frieza tells Goku to throw him, and there's that shot of Goku sliding down that tower getting ready with that music getting you super pumped for the throw. Then there's Frieza just slamming into this absolute unit by himself while Goku's pushing his hardest to catch up and help without enough gas in the tank to even complete the Super Saiyan transformation. Like damn, everything about this last fight just makes you want to watch the Tournament of Power all over again.
This is probably one of the best team battles in anime history. 3 mortals who in the past would most likely be fighting to the death, are now fighting together in a perfectly coordinated fashion.

Frieza tells Goku to throw him at Jiren. Goku doesn't ask why, he doesn't inquire as to what Frieza means, he doesn't say something stupid about how it's suicide going alone or some BS like that.
No, he just takes a second to realize what Frieza means by that, it clicks, and he immediately follows through without hesitation. Absolutely perfect, and it makes the fight feel all the more real because of it.
And it fits perfectly with the "power of trust" theme.
We can give Goku flack for being naive a lot of times, but we must remember he is an absolute genius in combat. So of course he knows if Frieza says, "THROW ME!", he is not gonna give it second thought.

This is my favorite ending to an anime yet. The fact that Goku put his trust in two former enemies to save his universe is incredible. Frieza was basically one of his lifelong rivals aside from Vegeta and working together with #17 & Frieza was an astounding end. The ToP really brought back DBS from it's failed beginning. They also put in that it's not just about power levels and stuff, but it's about strategy and trust!
The coolest part is you look at that team and realize how much of an impact Goku made in that universe, fighting alongside many who stood against him in the beginning. You can’t forget Tien and Piccolo were antagonists earlier on in the story too. 6/10 members of that universe’s team were Goku’s enemies at one point (Tien, Piccolo, Vegeta, Frieza, 17 and 18) and the other members were his master, his best friend and his son. Goku’s adventures and his ability to find the best in everyone built that team.

@@Hulavuta I always felt Krillin was more of a rival than an antagonist in the beginning of their time training under Roshi, but I guess a case can be made Krillin did try to sabotage Goku when they competed in training a couple times.
Yeah. He was never actually evil unlike the others where it was a plot point. Roshi calls Tenshinhan evil, Vegeta calls himself "pure evil" and of course there's a whole arc about Piccolo losing his demon status
yeah it was definitely worth it sitting through 10 minutes of flashbacks and talking for 5 minutes of action for a whole year.
better part, is that the manga is different and both are equally extremely satisfying.
in the manga, android 17 self destructs to take away half the stadium forcing jiren to be close to a ledge. instead of frieza, goku combos with vegeta and push jiren to the brink, a result of their tag team training with whis. jiren eliminates vegeta but as he was going to push goku off, frieza distracts him with a ki bomb. as soon as jiren turns to stop the ki bomb, goku puts him in a choke hold and frieza turns gold to gain enough strength to push both jiren and goku off of the ledge that 17 created. in case you don’t remember like the rest of us, krillin wished away 17 and 18’s self destruct function, meaning that 17 only pretended to self destruct, and since he’s an android jiren couldn’t detect his presence and didn’t suspect his plans.
the bottomline is the same as the anime, jiren’s biggest weakness is teamwork. in an 1 on 1 tournament jiren would have won, but in a team tournament he’s lacking. goku on the other hand was willing to trust the bad guys in his life for the win. not only that, it only worked because frieza trusted 17 and helped him fake his death and was willing to push himself off the cliff so 17 could be the last one standing
This scene is beautiful for a number of reasons:
-Goku and Frieza fighting together
-Frieza asking Goku , A "Saiyan" he thinks is a monkey , to throw him which he wouldn't do if this was during dbz
-Frieza showing his Character development by abandoning his pride and sacrificing himself to take out Jiren
-Goku and Frieza's form being their final forms when they first fought
-Goku and Frieza's aura forming a heart
-Vegeta shocked at Goku and Frieza fighting together ; and
-Everyone including beerus cheering on both Goku and Frieza desperately

A personal addition to all your points for me is just the fact that Goku is teaming up with one of the last remnants of the Red Ribbon Army (DB), his sworn nemesis (DBZ) and he himself having made it all the way to DBS with them by his side.
And they were _both_ hellbent on wanting to kill him; even if 17 was forced into it.
It feels like everyone represents every generation of the show both directly and indirectly, which is very nice.
One minor thing I wanna correct. Their combined blast doesn't look like a heart, but rather wings. Wings usually symbolizing freedom, which is the whole premise of the tournament, freedom to survive and live.
I thought it was a heart because Goku and freeza has a secret relationship haha

This fight took everything, they are all fighting on fumes except 17, who's body is so badly damaged he can't even stand, let alone fight, the others couldn't even muster a single energy blast.
You could feel the desperation in every blow, every single one was devastating because non of them had anything left in the tank, it was just an all out brawl at this point, no more secrets, no more holding back, no more aces.
After the initial onslaught Jiren realises he has to take 17 out of the fight fast as he's the only one still in it with a long range attack. He knew unless he charged past goku and Freiza that the glass cannon would eventually grind him down and so launched himself into 17, slamming the other two exhausted flighters behind him before crashing himself into the biggest threat on the battlefield, forcing him on the defensive with the other two lagging to far behind to help.
Even Freiza's final strategic play was a failure, he got goku to fire him at Jiren and plow right through the area to take them both out, but even his last ditch effort wasn't enough and Jiren gained the upper hand again by diverting them to a small platform just inside the knockout zone. At that point all he could do was cling to Jiren's arm for dear life and wait for Goku to catch up again. He was willing to give up his ultimate goal of controlling the gods to take this guy down. I think he planned it, hence why he asked goku if he remembered the promise he made to revive him after the tournament. He needed to know that even if he was knocked out he would still be resurrected.
Goku's flickering in and out of SS was a glorious touch, he was scrambling for anything, any energy he had that might give them an edge over Jiren, he was struggling to find anything at all left in him, in the end he used sheer willpower to force a transformation he couldn't maintain because there was just nothing left to give.
That final charge at Jiren was nothing more than a push, they didn't even have the strength left to actively fight Jiren, all they could do was use Goku's momentum to physically push Jiren off the edge and pray he didn't have the strength to push back, their final act was destroying what was left of the rubble because if Jiren managed to climb back up again he would have won.
It was the unstoppable force against the immovable object, and it ended in a stalemate, they had to sacrifice themselves to stop him.
This will not be remembered for UI, it will be remembered as the time Goku and Freiza fought as one. The fight nobody could have ever imagined 20 years ago.

My favorite part is how well they fight together. Frieza wasn't just mega powerful. He was an extremely well trained martial artist as well. They didn't need to discuss a plan or a sneaky way to beat Jiren. They fought purely on instinct and skill alone and trusted in each other to follow through and give everything they had to make sure he wasn't on the field any longer. People can hate on super all they want for many different reasons but this sequence alone is one of the best in the series in my opinion. (I also screamed like a little girl when I saw Goku blast Kefla in the face. Still don't think its better than this)

I don't care how good or bad the rest of Super might be (and that’s an entirely subjective debate for another day) this fight is one of the greatest DB moments of the entire franchise. I don't care if I'm the only one who sees it that way, I'll leap at the mob of naysayers shrieking while my hair flickers between black and blond.
Man I'd even go as far as to say one of the most impactful moments in all of anime and would proudly back it up.
DB has had a huge influence on several other animes and is one of the most iconic and although the community might not have the best rep, this is one of those moments that diehard fans and possibly even casual watchers can enjoy as long as they have some knowledge of these characters' backstories, connections with one another, and knowing what's on the line. The effort they're all putting in is admirable to say the least.
This to me is dragon ball at its PEAK

I liked Super, but part of that is because I watched the movies instead of the anime for the first 2 arcs. I enjoyed BoG, and Ressurection 'F'. But have heard the animation, and pacing was bad for the first two arcs in the anime series. Then I jumped into the anime at the Goku Black arc. It had it's flaws, but I enjoyed it. Then the ToP arc was great, and the Broly movie was great.
I'm not reading the manga ATM, but apparently the Moro arc is really good too. I'll walk away from this series positive. Honestly, GT about put me to sleep in certain parts. Super got me hyped more, and more as it went on. Super isn't as good as Z, obviously, but it's definitely not bad, IMO.

DB is easily the most recognized anime in history and to see Goku and Frieza working as a team after all this time is nothing short of spectacular.

Jiren actually looked like he was having fun on this fight which makes it even better
The director of this chapter said that the glass of Jiren's power breaking meant that he had regained his confidence and trust, that is why Jiren smiles and enjoys the battle after the support of Toppo and the others.

A little detail that went unnoticed in this entire scene is that Goku's Super Saiyan hairstyle here looks exactly how it was when he first transformed against Frieza on Namek. They've always tended to make SSJ hair a bit more edgy and solid, but here it's a nice callback to its debut when it was soft, with movement, and glowing. Fitting that it was re-introduced fighting alongside the person who helped him achieve that state in the first place.

Not even that, when frieza is trying to take out jiren but fails, you can see in a single frame that jiren takes off half of frieza’s tail, indicating from namek saga when frieza had his tail gone, these animators are getting good for throwbacks.

I really love the last shot of Goku and Frieza's attack, two mortal enemies, side by side, super saiyan and galactic emperor, with all of their remaining power blasting away an enemy to save the entire universe. Very well thought out and choreographed fight.

I love this fight from beginning to end. This is the first time Frieza put aside his differences with Goku and the Z Fighters to survive. Sure, it was for his own ends ultimately, but I love that Goku and Frieza finally decided to work together to save their universe. And the best part is that the fight doesn’t end with SSJ Blue Goku or Ultra Instinct, the fight ends with SSJ Goku and Frieza finishing the job as a team. If that’s not the most ironic and badass thing in Dragon Ball as a whole, then I don’t know what is.
If you really think about it, the Goku and Frieza teamup is a bit on par with DBZ in general where the main villains join Goku and Co. Piccolo, Vegeta, the Androids, and even Buu to an extent, were all really big bads that eventually turned. Frieza is a bit of surprise though, considering he was originally dead, and a straight up irredeemable villain.
It's also brilliant storytelling (which is not something I would normally ascribe to Dragon Ball). Even at the end, Jiren remains stronger than anyone in Universe 7. But his refusal to trust in his own teammates or the strength of anyone else dooms him to defeat at the hands of two people who hate each other but understood how to trust in one another more than he ever could.
