    Additional pros/cons
    Pros: this extends the life of your device's charging port as you're not constantly connecting/disconnecting it.
    If you drop your phone or anything that might hit the cable it will simply disconnect instead of bending or causing damage to the port.
    No foreign debris will make its way into the charge port as it is always covered.
    Cons: magnets attract dirt, so it is very likely that if you were to drop your phone or put it anywhere near dirt, it'll magnetize it and if you've ever removed dirt from a magnet you'll know it's a pain.

    Normally when I play games on my phone while charging I will accidentally bend the charger due to the shape of my phone, so the magnetic charger would work better since if I bend it to much it would just disconnect, but I could just leave it there to charge using a normal cable

    I'm trying to find an answer are magnetic chargers & data cables safe. I've seen many sites saying most people are afraid of the magnets harming the phone which makes no sense to me. I'm wondering why nobody is asking about having the terminals exposed where they can come into contact with conductive materials possibly shorting out the board. I mean these terminal do have the possibility to come into contact with water which is somewhat conductive unless it's distilled and I know that would make you think it's okay but what about metal. Anyone have any answers to this?

    • @thisisyourcaptainspeaking2259
      @thisisyourcaptainspeaking2259 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to get a usb voltmeter to test your charger output in slow charge mode, or try a charger that doesn't have quick charge negotiation.
      If the charger voltage is under 5 volts or above 5.4 volts, it might be defective. Everything relies on charger voltage output.
      A longer cable will have more resistance and any non-quick charge cable longer than 3 feet may charge very slowly if at all. So select a short length cable for non-quick charge.
      Quick Charge operates by increasing the charging voltage to 9 volts or more depending, by negotiating a handshake with a quick charge charger. This higher voltage overcomes the cord length issue.

    Here’s my only issue with the thought of getting these cables
    I would have to take out the piece in the phone which could easily be lost just to plug in any ear buds unless there’s a pair of earbuds that are also magnetic I suppose I could use my air pods but the issue with those is I only have one besides regular wired ear buds are much louder that AirPods and you’re less likely to lose them

  • @MortalWombatUK
    @MortalWombatUK ปีที่แล้ว

    I got some similar ones from Statik, but I wouldn’t recommend them at all.
    They worked at first, but a year on… not so much.
    The charging just keeps dropping out, dropping in, dropping out, dropping in…
    If it’s a device that’s constantly going in and out if your pocket, the conductive metal plating eventually rubs off the magnet.
    And the magnet VERY easily lets moisture into your charging socket, so then you can’t charge the phone for several hours.
    Avoid.

    Can these transfer data as well? I'm looking to buy an e-reader and the cables must both charge and transfer files (ebooks) as well. It's an interesting product for sure, especially since the device I'm looking to buy still has a micro USB port (and these are known to fail at some point). Thank you.

    there seems to be a common problem of the charger not working after about 15-20 minutes of use. do you have any suggestions for a solution, or do you have a comment on this widespread issue? this is the reason i never trust tech review channels; this is concerning information that would have been easily found by this channel if they did just a small amount of research on the product for this review.

      Mine have been working fine, the long length cables have higher resistance and try another charger because everything is dependant on charger output voltage, which must be between 5 volts and 5.4 volts for non-quick charge.

    • @cbro412

      It works sometimes. The difference between these cables and the stock one is the stock one will charge constantly above like 1500 milliamps. These cables can REACH that speed, but they don't stay there constantly. They still do a great job of charging though, they're not weak
