    In 1978 I lost a girlfriends class ring she was very angry and the
    relationship only lasted a month or two and I never seen her again. 39
    years later my brother found the ring in my my mothers yard while metal
    detecting, so I looked up the girl and returned the ring and guess what.
    SHE IS STILL ANGRY AT ME !

    The right thing to do would have been to read the comments before leaving a comment, If you had done that you would have read that I did try to return and that I have returned many class rings, Ive found quite a few!!!

    What metal detector do you have?

  • @Pakken
    @Pakken 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't think people would just bury their rings.... judging by the size of the field, I would only assume that people probably play around in it and dropped it by accident... as time goes on with the ring unchecked, dirt and debris carried by the wind simply bury the ring itself.

    I hope someone finds my class ring someday and returns it to me. Funny how these things get lost. My Dad bought a metal detector in the 1970s just so he could find his class ring, and he did, within minutes. Great videos.

    So many rings with a cluster of years. Lost or intentionally buried ? Fascinating to think through what might have been going on. There is the obvious overlap with WW2

    were did they say they returned the rings?? Did I miss something??😔

  • @Digginrings
    @Digginrings 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice finds. Keep em. My experience has been that a lot of people simply think you owe them something because you have the means to get the item back. You (we) invest money in the hobby (money and time),. I have returned items with not even so much as a thank you. So, no more. They want, they can pay (to search for a recent lost item, or pay up for the find). Fact is, I deserve it one way or the other. I work hard to find what I get.

  • @Digginrings
    @Digginrings 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    i like the old stuff, seems like they had better designs back then. likely there is more in that field. You probably know by now that rings can and often are on edge, so a 90 degree pass will produce the missed stuff.
    Last year I got a valuable platinum this way.

  • @Digginrings

    What's happened in the area since 1950 for these rings to be lost ?

  • @Full_Metal_Digger
    @Full_Metal_Digger 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Coop, those old rings are so beautiful compared to what they hand out these days at high schools. If you know what town the school was in, the local library probably has all the old yearbooks stashed in a back room and you might be able to figure out who the person was. Someone who graduated in 1939 would have been born in 1921 and if still living, would now be 89 years old. Thanks for sharing and best wishes! Dave.

  • @sscindercoop
    @sscindercoop  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Digginrings Thanks, Yeah I do try and return em but wasn't able to because of the age of the rings and the school has been closed for years. Ive returned rings and other things with out a thanks a smile or anything, So I know were your coming from. Best of luck HH

    @TactiFred Most 10k that Ive found comes in with fe numbers from 10 to 12 and co numbers from 26 to 39. But I try to dig all on an old sight so I don't miss anything and I really don't pay much attention to my screen because I dig by sound. HH coop

    those woods must of definitely been the spot the kids would go party/celebrate after grad or maybe a camp ground/tailgate. Deff kids were getting drunk to celebrate and wearing the new rings which they would lose easy.

    Great finds. I recently found my first class ring (10k) at a beach, and contacted the school today. Little easier to return mine I suppose, as the ring owner is still in school and will graduate with the class of 2013. Really enjoy your vids coop please keep them coming.

    Porque proporcionalmente se pierden muchas más monedas jeje. Yo tengo un detector Garret ace 250 desde hace unas 3 semanas y diariamente lo utilizo en las playas frente a mi casa. Siempre encuentro una gran cantidad de monedas y de vez en cuando aparece algun anillo. Hasta ahora solo uno de oro y ya es bastante!! También, aunque en estos videos no aparece tanto se encuentra una gran cantidad de chatarra. Clavos oxidados, tapas de cerveza, envoltorios de chicles y cajillas de cigarrillos jeje

    That is such a pessimist attitude about it. my living grandmother was born in 1922. my other living grandmother was born in 1935. my living grandfather was born in 1924.
    I would have thought it to be a common attitude to at least try.

  • @martykean1967
    @martykean1967 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @wudjra Thats a nice thought but how would he ever find them and besides, the one from 1939 was owned by someone who has probably passed on by now. The owner of the one from 1950 would be 79 or 80 years old now if they are still alive.

    I lost a class ring and someone found it in another state somehow (but I never wore it there!!) Must have been stolen and ended up there...I was located on my school's alumni website because my name was inside the ring and my H.S. name was on the top around the stone. Someone looked me up, contacted me and mailed my ring back to me! Years later, I found someone's H.S. ring and I looked him up on Facebook, and mailed his ring back to him! It's the right thing to at least try returning it.

    We have been detecting for about a year now and have found 2 10K gold class rings. We did some online detecting and found the owners. Needless to say, they were thrilled to get them back. The one had been lost for 35 years and the other for 20 years. I hope you also have the integrity to try and track down the owners if possible. We have also found 14kt wedding bands but there was no luck finding the owners of those. To date, we've found enough to pay for our 60" Sony Big Screen HDTV.

Also, if you have lost a class ring, check out the website, maybe someone has found it and listed it there! It's a great thing to get a lost class ring back on the hand of its owner!
