Just finished watching this. AMAZING. I love how it went behind the curtains and showed us everything. It gave us the great, the good, the bad, the ugly, and the downright grim. Its a TRUE docu series. No fluff just raw emotion no matter what. Nothing was manufactured in this series. Highly recommend.
I met Al at a regional promotion about 8 years ago. He was working as a scout for WWE. He was extremely professional, but very focused on his job(as he should have been). It was cool to see how detailed the scouting process was for that local talent.
@@crazypato3752 Well they have wrestling schools, smaller promotions, and indie wrestling stuff, so I would say a scout will probably just drop by or watch these shows in-person then see what wrestler has potential to be a pro and so on.
This is an absolute groundbreaking documentary about wrestling. It gives the fans a perfect opportunity to go behind the scenes and see the world of professional wrestling. The real world of professional wrestling. From the mother daughter drama all the way to the co-owner who is beyond eccentric. Words don't describe the ride, but it's a fantastic peek into a world that remained mostly unseen by most.
Al really is one of the smartest guys in this business. basically everyone who has worked with him at one point or the other has agreed on this. hell, even Foley, who loves making fun of him b/c of their friendship, mentioned how much of a genius he is behind-the-scenes. I really hope this all worked out for him
I went through the phases most of us go through. believing it was real and loving it, finding out it was scripted and hating it, then coming to respect the heck out of it, as we are now able to see and appreciate the back breaking work and sacrifice that goes in.
Not sure about perfect, as some of the wrestlers have said including Jim Cornette, it very much focuses on the negative and doesn't show a real up side, as Jim Cornette said 'the most successful guy in the film sells used cars in pheonix' Kayfabe: a real movie about a fake business is hilarious by the way

But dam it you gotta respect these people who lay there bodies out there every night all year away from there families just to entertain us. They don’t have stunt doubles like actors do. It’s all then putting in the time and work. Idk how people who aren’t pro wrestling fans can hate on that.
On top of this, if you're looking to quench your wrestling thirst even further, there is a fantastic drama on Starz called "Heels" that is currently airing its second season 🤘🏻
Because it is completely irrelevant at this point. They will brag about the stars they had that became big, but every single one of them came out when they were developmental with WWE over a decade ago. They haven't had a single one since.

What a show....I've been an American wrestling fan here in the u.k. since 1989....I really Hope these guys get a second season ..its a really great insight to what goes on behind the scenes and what it takes to keep an even relatively small wrestling promotion going ..but I will say they couldn't have a better teacher than Al Snow

Into the first 3 episodes, its evident that Matt is the antagonist and rightfully so. This guy is used to being hands on in every business he owns but in OVW he just needs to let others do their job. He should not be anywhere near the wrestlers or making any booking decisions. He should have people in place to help manage the business and then report to him like any other company. Looking forward to seeing how this will play out.
My dream as a child was to be a pro wrestler. Until, I read about what happens behind the scenes. The 360 days on the road, driving for 100’s of miles show to show, missing your family, being hurt and taking pills to get through the next show. That dream left my mind soon enough.

I haven't been to an OVW show in years but I saw CM Punk in his comeback to OVW. I didn't know at the time that CM Punk would become a mega star. I saw Santino, Deuce and Domino, Katie Lea, Paul Burchill, Vladimir Kozlov, Milena Roucka - I think she was Rosa Mendes in WWE, Atlas daBone whose name was changed in WWE and married diva Layla. I am pretty sure I saw Maryse in OVW. I had no idea that some of these people would make it to the big time. I loved OVW. Haven't been in years so maybe I should go again. It was a great product.
If you remember the original Tough Enough show that had Al Snow as a coach and I imagine this show like that except with more established wrestlers and some green rookies. I look forward to watching this.
Al Snow seems like one of the most consistently sincere people to ever train wrestlers. I've read books and articles and everything. Different schools and trainers and all that. I think he's very much a fatherly guy, he's not going haze or abuse anyone. He's a fair kind fella. It just enhances my respect and love for his career and making my youth enjoyable. I still think about Al Snow & Mankind going to the amusement park. Their WWE magazine cover. Al's hardcore match with Bob Holly at Valentine's Day Massacre. The Chihuahua storyline.😂 It's just good to know there's an elder wrestler out there that's very honorable guy. Just who he is as a person.

They lied in the trailer, trying to act like it's the same OVW Batista and Cena came from, and that pisses me off. They're trying to lie to get people to watch it. I know, every company lies to get people to watch , but COME ON. OVW in 2002 was owned by WWE, in 2023 it is not owned by WWE, and they're trying to act like it is.

From the 2021 Nightmare Rumble until now, I'm glad that I kept up with OVW. Congratulations on the show, I hope it brings you the fame an accolades that you deserve. Can't wait to binge it all in a weekend.
This will be a good show to watch and I encourage fans to watch this. Alot of the folks that are in WWE or AEW started here and people like to bag on the independent scene. This is where it starts and you will see why a lot of them get a huge chip on their shoulders when people come in who have never wrestled get put in the front of the line versus someone who climbed their way to get there.
For those unfamiliar OVW was WWE's farming system. Talent was trained then they would be scouted by people like Jim Ross then given a shot at WWE Tv. WWE then used FCW Florida championship wrestling then converted it to NXT which they used to this day. Many of this people featured could end in WWE or AEW or Impact in the future. OVW is still a farming system.

WWE then used FCW Florida championship wrestling then converted it to NXT which they used to this day. Many of this people featured could end in WWE or AEW or Impact in the future. OVW is still a farming system.
Nobody has gotten a major contract since Al took over. WWE & AEW aren't looking there.

Just watched. Pretty good! Episode 4-6 were a bit slow but overall, I enjoyed this. Hope OVW becomes successful in the future

When people say wrestling is fake they can't look at it as entertainment. Its no different from fantasy and fiction novels you read, the movies you watch, action, drama horror, films , reality shows, soap operas. The stage plays you attend. It's purpose is to keep you entertained.
i hope that a Jim Cornette cameo is in this. He's pretty important to the OVW history.
This has jack shit to do with OVW when Cornette involved, this is about current awful OVW that loses $3,000 every week it is on "TV". Cornette would be embarrassed to to be associated with current OVW.
