great video. interesting note as an American commenting here. Cilantro refers to the leaves, we still use the word coriander when talking about the seeds and the roots and stems. As Cilantro is a spanish word and Mexican cuisine uses a lot of it and since Mexican food is popular in the US, we have adopted the Spanish term for the leaves.
Hiya Gary! Wowww- I’m totally impressed with your Isaan and your Thai😊 My husband and I love the video & thanks for taking us along! Thanks so much for describing the flavors! Cannot wait for your next video:)
2 years in the making 😂 absolutely enjoyed seeing you together great banter and that moo ping looked amazing when i there visiting Rob will definitely check it out . Looking forward to seeing ya both doing another Vlog together soon. Happy New Year 🥳
Hi there I had to stop the video, I can’t believe a grown man can’t try food , unless you have and extreme allergy to something then there is no reason whatsoever for not trying a food , open up your mind and be amazed , I also stop watching videos if someone orders western food, I’ve eaten it for almost 60 years and don’t need to see pizza or burger or steak in Thailand , so I immediately stop the video , good luck going forward to this man child in Bangkok
Sweet & sour stir fry with cucumber is hard to find because other vendors don’t like to take the time to peal the bitter rind off of the cucumber… which she does. LOLwithRob “Always Hungry” shirt. 😂 Gary’s shirt should say “Always Tasting” 😂👏🏻👍🏻😊😃🙏🏻🇹🇭

makes me wonder whats wrong with this guy, being in bkk for 2 years without getting into the food / even trying to. but great that you made him being a bit more open about it! btw: where is he coming from? he sounds a bit australian but then also not really, its really hard to tell for me (non native speaker)? thanks for your channel, btw, i am really enjoying watching your videos! really makes me wanna go back there...

Early Dutch spelled the name BANGKOK in Roman alphabets more than 450 years ago since Ayutthaya period and correctly pronounced BANG - GORK as well as Early Europeans and others. Then 200 years later came the Americans with flat accent wrongly pronounced BANK -KOK and with their broadcasting power just misleads everyone today. If you said Barng Gork to Thai people they'd be surprised and loved it
Gary you are so patient with your friend. After a few meals out with you, he'll become a bit more adventurous in his eating choices I'm sure. Good move starting him on moo ping. He must be spending a fortune if he's just eating western food in Thailand.
agreed, I struggle with friends that start with saying "I am not sure that I am going to like this" before they have tasted the food. I had to stop watching this video as a result
(yet another) really enjoyable video! And you're safe in the knowledge that if he does start a rival food channel it'll focus on chicken nuggets and pot noodles 😊. Quick question - Wendy and I keep hearing you say something that sounds like "Aroy tee suud" - sorry for the spelling. What does it mean? Cheers Chris
It means "the most delicious" (aroy = delicious). So Gary might say, for example, "aroy tee sud nai grung thep" to mean "the most delicious in Bangkok", or if he's really going for it, "aroy tee sud nai loke" to mean "the most delicious in the world".
@@robingrocott5481 Hi Robin, thank you very much for taking the time to reply and that's a perfect explanation you've given. Hope you have a great 2024! Chris

My God. Can You imagine living in Thailand for two years and not eating the food?
Crazy wow how hmmm😮

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it 🙏 I actually think it makes more sense as we just say coriander for both and expect everyone else to understand
First lesson If you're going to live in Thailand, you need to practice removing the rubber bands from rice bags. LOL

What are your friend doing in Thailand when he does not eat the food? It is like the main reason! Do he hate the sun and the sea as well? :D
Classic true English style. Never tried it but doesn't like it.
