I know it is not part of the subject as such, but home schooling aught to be in this mix. Its growth more recently has largely been due to failure in the public school system in western countries at least.

On a quick google, preeeety sure you should be using ought not augut. Regardless, agree home schooling should be considered, but I’m not sure retreating from the mainstream is a great solution.

It's about time, a good education is vital to our future as a nation and especially for Aboriginal people who especially in remote communities simply don't seem to value an education.

If a person does not value something, they will be unlikely to make the sacrifices necessary to acquire that thing….

Steady increase of ppl moving their kids to private or Catholic schools. Discipline, social influence, then academic and religious reasons (in that order) as to the reasons why at our Christian school. Pathway to tertiary entry is higher. However a study some years back showed the key indicator of student success (uni graduates w the highest earnings/career progression approx. 5 years out) was not the school but how important education was in ‘the home’. We as parents provide the foundation, we can’t forget that.

Lutherans are beginning to realize that their desire to make the Christian message in good academic schools does little to make Christians of them. They want their world view be instilled in students minds and then go to university and find a variety of views some which undermine their beliefs.

Is there a directory of these classical schools? Asking for my seven-year-old.

Is it really a good thing to encourage involvement in politics? Aren't there too many people trying to impose their visions on others already?

All very well but how do you account for the wildly irrational Climate Change denial of the American religious communities?

      Climate change is a scam.

Part of it , i think, is the fact that statistically, any observed change over 50 years, or even over recorded meteorological history, compared to the billions and billions of years that the earth has existed {according to the same worldview) statistically could just be within normal limits of variation.
Think bell curve, no recorded evidence for all but the most recent blip compared to the vast sweep f evolutionary history, and any variation observed during the blip, simply is not statistically significant, p is less than .000000000001 to put it in statistical terms, if my statistics memory serves ...
So, not sure if your level of statistical understanding or if you wanted a serious answer but i hope that helps.

Certain groups have been telling the people the ice age is coming oil is running out global warming will melt the icecaps co2 is creating climate crisis and every time it comes with a new tax. Renewables that you talk about are subsidized by the government take away that subsidy and you’ll be paying far more. It’s not climate denial we’ve woken up to their games the co2 they claim is the problem caused by humans is 0.034% of the atmosphere much lower you start losing forests. Wake the F up you are part of the problem for not understanding what your own government is doing to you.

      It's not irrational

    • @user-pj5ub5cp9k

@user-rk4hv3fb2n Of course it is. Wildly scientifically irrational, the consensus is overwhelming. I'd be happy to argue that. The planet is warming rapidly due anthropogenic CO2 emissions, far too rapidly. There's a Climate emergency. Discuss.
