Some advice for people looking to do this. Coolermaster has an ARGB controller that you can purchase. My personal system has no ARGB (5v) headers, but with the Coolermaster Master Fan hub and the Coolermaster ARGB controller, you can have 6 (RGB) fans and 2 led strips in your case that are powered by (2) SATA power cables and only one fan header. I got mine off of ebay maybe a month before your video. Overall review: this is basically the fanciest a Y-splitter gets. you need sata power and a 12v 4 pin rgb header and can plug your 12v 4 pin and 5v 3 pin rgb stuff in at the same time. They wont be independent colors as this is a fancy splitter.

Hi, I recently bought this and found out that my motherboard has only one 4pin rgb header. I used this converter thermaltake ux100 which is an ARGB cpu cooler (which i mistakenly bought). Is it ok if I plug my non ARGB fans into the right side of this converter (4pin-12v)? My motherboard is gigabyte h270 gaming 3.
I recently bought a Deepcool CF120 fan, which i mistakenly thought I could plug straight into my MSI B450M mother board (JRGB1 12v pins) . It has a 3 pin fan cable and an additional cable which I presume is for the RGB. If I purchased one of these adapters, would only plugging in the 3 pin fan cable work still allow me to control the RGB? The other cable would become redundant?
You need to plug in both cables. The 3 pin fan cables connects to your mainboard to power the fan itself (rotation only, no light). The additional RGB cable goes into the converter and will only be responsible for RGB.
two of my motherboards are Z77 which in the time of release i think grb doesn't even exist fully yet (correct me if i'm wrong). so, if my motherboard only has 4 pin header for cpu and 3 pin for other fans, i need this to control the existing argb fans today via software right?
Actually I'm not aware of a single Z77 board that has any RGB headers at all, neither 5V ARGB nor 12V GRB. If that is true for your boards as well, there's no other way than getting a dedicated RGB controller that connects over (internal) USB. The headers you're mentioning are probably just fan headers (fan rotation, not light).
@@techlessYT yeah you're absolutely right - there's no rgb headers for Z77 boards. i just thought maybe i could try connecting to a cpu fan header with the use of this deepcool device to control the argb fans via software. i guess that's just a dumb idea lol. thanks man, i appreaciate your response! 🍻

You need to connect the sata cable as well.
I saw in amazon that this is not compatible with asrock MB, I thought that this doesnbt need to be coneceted to the Motherboard, can you explain me please?
Hey man i hope you replay i have a msi x470 gaming plus motherboard and the msi mag 240r cooler i am trying to to connect the rgb but the cooler has a 5v and the motherboard has 12v jrgb slot. If i buy this will it help pls respond
Hey, il have "up here" fans i grabbed on amazon for 40€ on what do i plug it because its not deepcool, not msi... so can you pls tell me on what do i plug it
Question: bro i have b450 tomahawk max which has 4pin /12v rgb header can i sync argb fans with this converter?? BTW nice video 😍😍
I have Asus tuf b450 gaming pro and 7 id cooling argb fans (oh, and light tape on computer case). When I connected all stuff, rainbow light is blinking, but one color is ok
Same problem here
hey i just did your steps but my rgb wont turn on any ideas?
Great video! But I have one question. I have a lian li lancool 2 case and it has an argb front panel connector. My mother board does not have an argb header so where on the converter would I plug this front panel argb connector?
As stated in the case's manual the plug has a "+5V, D, GND" pinout. So it plugs into the top left port, as you can see at 3:05.
Thanks a bunch man!!
Can i convert 12V 4 pin to 5v 3pin with this device ? with full a-rgb support ?
I don't think so
I have the x470 mobo liked you showed in the beginning. All i want is my coolermaster fans to be able to connect with aura sync since they cant plug in to my motherboard. Will this solve my problem?
Yes, if your cooler master fans are regular ARGB fans, which they likely are.
Man this is sold out almost everywhere they just restocked it the U.S.
Can we put a splitter on the convertor ? Pls
You said if I want the effects I need a dedicated rgb controller. Where can I get that?
Hi, I recently bought this and found out that my motherboard has only one 4pin rgb header. I used this converter thermaltake ux100 which is an ARGB cpu cooler (which i mistakenly bought). Is it ok if I plug my non ARGB fans into the right side of this converter (4pin-12v)? My motherboard is gigabyte h270 gaming 3.
Yes, that's what the headers on the right side are for.
@@techlessYT thanks! You helped me a lot!
Is it work with deepcool digital coolers?
So I can my 12 v grb connection from the Mainboard convert to a 5 v connection and can we do everything with a 5 v rgb connection?
@@techlessYT will can I use the msi mystich lights or it will not work with this adaptor on?
I got CF 120 which is 3 fans, will it work if I plug the 3 pin argb splitter to the hub and sync it?
Should work.
I wanted to buy a off brand rgb hub, on wich 5v would it go to then?Since its not deepcool neither asus nor gigabyte?thanks
Could be anything really, but it's most likely Asus standard as this is the most common pin out. Make sure to check the markings on the plug.
@@techlessYT what markings?
Where is the best place to purchase this product?
does it work on all rgb fans or just deepcool ones?
@techless can u control brightness from mobo's software with this converter?
two of my motherboards are Z77 which in the time of release i think grb doesn't even exist fully yet (correct me if i'm wrong). so, if my motherboard only has 4 pin header for cpu and 3 pin for other fans, i need this to control the existing argb fans today via software right?
Can i use a 12v chinese rgb controller with 12v GRB fan
