    I just bought one myself. Keep in mind, that altough motherboard 12v headers ar GRB, some other RGB controllers, that are meant for RGB stripes, ar BRG. So you might also need to flip B and G cables also. Still a great piece of tech, so i dont have to throw way my old Farbwerk Controller.

    2:32 man these diagrams are soooo beautiful and charming. What do you used to draw this?
    3:35 man how do you make it worked with smooth transitions like this? When I Put color cycle it doesnt follow the right collor speed cycle from other aRGB components (like my XPG D50 ram modules). Also it flahes abrutaly every ~3 seconds.
    I dont think the reason is because u are using Deepcool converter + Deepcool Fans(water cooler) because I an also using a Deepcool GH-01 aRGB GPU support with this Deepcool converter and it doesnt worked like yours

    Overall review: this is basically the fanciest a Y-splitter gets. you need sata power and a 12v 4 pin rgb header and can plug your 12v 4 pin and 5v 3 pin rgb stuff in at the same time. They wont be independent colors as this is a fancy splitter.

      Seems you are in the same boat I am because I also have a 3 pin that looks like a 4 pin but with a pin blocked out so I can’t plug into my MSI mobo 4 pins but I am assuming that once we are able to connect our 3 pin to the converter it should already turn the fans or led or whatever it is on since the converter will get the power you would’ve otherwise gotten from the mobo
      Edit: lol I commented without answer anyhow I believe it would work in your case though only with one Argb 3 pin since the product only has 1 i am going to buy this product see how it works

    Some advice for people looking to do this. Coolermaster has an ARGB controller that you can purchase. My personal system has no ARGB (5v) headers, but with the Coolermaster Master Fan hub and the Coolermaster ARGB controller, you can have 6 (RGB) fans and 2 led strips in your case that are powered by (2) SATA power cables and only one fan header. The caveat is the same though where you can't control the RGB in software.

      It will work with your pump block, if the pump block has a compatible RGB connector. Just check if the writings on the connector plug match any of the converter's headers (refer to 3:05).
      Also "Aura Sync compatible" (or Asrock, Gigabyte...) batches on the box of the RGB component usually mean it comes with a compatible plug.
      Yes, using the motherboard's RGB control software with this converter is perfectly fine.

    Can you expand a bit where you said if you wanted to have more than just a static color and take advantage of ARGB you'd have to buy a separate controller? What's the minimalist way to be able to use all of ARGB capabilities with only a RGB header?

    • @techlessYT
      @techlessYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The minimalist way (or rather the only way) would be a separate ARGB controller. Unfortunately the standard RGB header (12V GRB) can only carry information for a single static color at once, so ARGB effects, that require more than one color at once, are simply not possible.
      So the only way to enjoy real ARGB without an appropriate header is to get a dedicated ARGB controller.

    just want to clarify: the port on the left side (labelled G D V) has an output of 5 volts, is this correct? is this where you connect the ARGB wire of the fan (while the wire for the fan is connected to the CHA FAN)? thank you.
