Keep in mind the action 4 records gyro data, so you can turn off stabilization for better low light performance and stabilize in post and it’s still smoother than a mechanical gimbal that bobs up and down with your steps.

Still, the Pocket 3 blows away the Action 4 in video quality. The 1" sensor is far bigger than the sensor on the Action 4 and produces much higher resolution videos. The actual focusing capability of the Pocket 3 also gives crisp results in all situations. As I have both cameras, both have a place in my camera bag. But, 90% of the time, my weapon of choice is always the Pocket 3.
I also have both, and the quality is not that much different if you know how to adjust the settings. My action 4 does great in low light around the house as long as you turn off stabilization and slow down the shutter speed. Stabilize in post. The action 4 stabilization is a lot smoother than pocket 3. Almost every gimble still has a up-down bounce when you walk. The gyro data in the anction 4 eliminates that completely.
This right here. I grabbed a action 4 over the pocket 3 for my vlogs for a bunch of reasons.
Wider field of view, I don't have to compete for filter space or try and stack with a wide angle filter. I prefer the infinite focus of action cameras over the blurred background when I'm in beautiful locations. Varied shot types like vehicle, drone or underwater. I can take it in the rain, drop it, toss it in my camping or hiking gear and know I'm not going to break a gimbal. Peace of mind is worth something. Pocket 3 just seems more suited to in door sit down shoots or filming the family dog.
@@jonnymurgatroyd856 I loved this so much bro, I've been stuck over what camera to buy, and it seems that the pocket 3 is having some issues with the rotating screen and the gimbal, also always blurring the background with the pocket 3 seems to be annoying to some people. I'll be using the action 4 for TH-cam videos, not just vlogging but also some interviews and connecting the dii mics to it. What do you think of this? I think the action 4 gives you that peace of mind that it can be treated a little more harshly and infinite focus is also a bit thing
Man, seeing an action cam actually being used for what it was designed for shows how much they have improved the last 10 years. That rock solid footage during snowboarding is just amazing! We all live in an amazing tech period.

I have both the Action 4 and the Pocket 3. Picture quality of the pocket 3 blows away the Action 4, especially in lower light situations like filming inside a house without extra lighting. But, you can't beat the Action 4 for rougher sporting type of actions and it is a great camera to let the 2 year old carry around without worrying. And it is also great under water.
Can u pls say. Can I use pocket 3 for indoor video shoots. And also providing good light setup.

Possibly if you turned stabilization completely all off but not sure if u can even
Yes! Turn off stabilization and lower the shutter speed. The action 4 also records Gyro data so you can stabilize in post with or without the gimbal for better low light.
Nicely done, but isn’t it as simple as an action camera for outdoors/sports and OP3 for vlogging? Nice to see all the snow,here (Westcoast of Canada) it’s so warm there isn’t a lot of it.

Awesome review, I’m stuck between these two, I want the pocket 3 but I think the action 4 would be better for filming at work.. I still might just take the risk and buy the pocket 3 😅..
i'm a pocket 2 user , wants to upgrade to pocket 3 but my worry is just the durability.... no extra care for my pocket 2 and still fine till now, but some review talking about their slide LCD kinda big issue , now still thinking for pocket 3 or waiting the action 5 😅
I also saw this, and I was getting the pocket 3 till last night, but now I think for almost the same prices as the creator combo on pocket 3 I can get the adventure combo, plus the dji mic 1 plus a stabilizer and that would make everything better. I'm just not sure about having to take so much care for the gimbal, and the lcd screen

For vlogging, the Pocket 3 would be a good option, but it lacks the capability for body and head mounts, which are essential for filming on thrill rides, making the Action 3 or 4 a better choice.

Makes it just as good in low light, I use the Hohem iSteady Pro 4, there’s nothing wrong with the Pocket 3 it’s a better camera for general vlogging but I primarily use two Actions for moto vlogging.

I think the answer is simple. If you do sports ,outdoor activities, then action4 , if its for just vlogging without all that,then pocket 3. BUT i do want both😅😂😂😂😂😂

I've actually seen there's a vlogger combo in the DJI page which includes the action 4 plus the ddi mics. They say its totally compatible
I’m sure Good Good was lucky to break even. I do agree more equal airtime would make content creators happy. But I feel content creators should pay their own way. I’m thinking if Good Good can get some more big name sponsors they can have a purse to payout to the winners and placers like the PGA. Hopefully someone coming in last would be able to recoup some of their travel expenses from the purse. I’m sure Good Good is taking in all these comments and will make adjustments to make it even better. I’ve enjoyed watching creators take from the event. Even though they might not of got the air time they wanted. I’ve still enjoyed their personal videos.

I own both and use them as a safety wide angle for hour long online yoga class recordings- the Action 4 couldnt hang with battery life- and even when I plugged it in for USB-C power it gave me this noise on certain clothing patterns that made the recordings unusable. And the fish eye distortion was kinda ridiculous. I know its nto the intended purpose of the thing, but thought I'd give it a shot.
Today was my first day with the Pocket 3 and I couldnt believe how good the recordings were (I Shot in D-LOG for both). Definitely a step up (or at least sideways ha) from my iPhone 15 pro Apple LOG id go as far to say. The battery life was sick. Still like 60% left with the battery extension after 1.5 hours of straight shooting 4k30. No overheating issues. The Action 4 overheated on me once when it was plugged in to shore power. I was hoping someone knew something about the sensor differences because they are NOT the same. Wish I held off buying the Action 4 but hopefully I find a use for it someday...
So, I have a GoPro, simular to DJI Osmo action 4 and im vlogging and using it for behind the scenes. Would you still do the trade? Have in mind om only doing this as a hobby for now 😀

Problem solved... I bought them both! 😄 That way, I got the best of both world! By the way... Nobody mention about going on the beach with those cameras! Going on a beach with a pocket 3 is also risky because of the sand that even the wind can lift of the ground and then fill the micro spaces in the gimble mecanism that tends to jam it! And you simply CAN'T remove that sand and it will jam the gimble movments! So, that's why I also have an action 4 camera because it's easy to ``wash`` or rince the sand from. That's my two cents! 😁 Thanks for your vid dude!

I needed this 2 months ago. After owning the Original DJI Pocket, and considering the P3, I went with the Insta360 Ace Pro. Its great, but the P3 or a 360 Camera would have been better for what I needed (a Onewheel ride cam). Thanks for the share Teppo.

Gimbal vs non Gimbal... the rain or canoeing is what is killing me. With my unsteady hands i prefer a gimbal
No mate...making same mistake as many other reviewers ...forgot to mention that you loose FOV and frame rate depending on stabilization choosen...why ohh why keep doing this wrong information ???
It doesn't make sense to vlog with Pocket 3 with such a limited field of view. If you're going to vlog you would want to have a wide view so that people can see not only you but what you would want to show in the background as well. Action 4 easily takes the win.
I returned the Action 4 and got the Pocket 3 instead. The quality is better especially in low light
