When friedman and menza were in megadeth I'd say that were tit for tat with slayer. but around this time when jeff and dave were in the fold? yeah they wash the other big 3 by a wide fuckin margin..
Dave is the only drummer that's right for slayer, even though others can play the songs none can write drums for slayer the way Dave did ,don't get me wrong I like payback and ditto head and a few other bostaph era songs , he's not a patch on Dave , also there was a rehearsal tape of Dave Lombardo doing a rough version of ditto head in 1990 before he left, it's basically a blue print for what was released on divine intervention, you can hear the massive different styles between Paul and Dave and only Dave hears the riffs how he hears them, Kerry king has said many many times that its just better when Dave is behind the kit because Dave is slayer,, there are interviews in 2004 with Kerry saying exactly that, shame how slayer had to end , it's nothing like proper slayer, if Dave Lombardo was writing with them they probably could of made a proper last album, but with Dave and Jeff gone it's just a Kerry king album.

The only Slayer line up, in my opinion. It's funny that I can't abide heavy metal music, usually. But, I can't help loving Slayer for what they are. A great frontman, two "tormented solos - playing" guitarists, and what can I say about Dave...? He's just a perfectly timed powerful genius. He's the best in that field still, today. A more than fine performance, indeed, from the whole band. ❤
you forgot to mention the most genius guitar player in metal. i'm talking about jeff hannemans riffs, the solos are what they are but the riffs are just the best ever.
This Is the real SLAYER I've been listening to since my youth , I'm 54 now they're the record of my life , every guy is an unstoppable train when playing , they are badass band 😈😈
Tom Araya is so underappreciated. Probably cuz he is always smiling and laughing. Dude is at the top of the food chain when it comes to the frontman position.
Probably my favorite Slayer live performance. The sound quality is epic, especially hearing Tom's bass so well, really brings up the quality of menace.
I'm 56 and my first slayer show was back in '83. Seen them fifteen times and this is the only lineup period!! But Gary holt was awesome filling in for Jeff, a guitar player and prescence that can't be duplicated!! From the end of 2001 when Dave first came back ( then on a temporary basis just to help them finish the tour) to I'd say 2009 was the best time ever to go and see slayer live , particularly between 2001 to 2004( during that time it was visible to see that the four guys had become mates again and they were loving playing the songs together again, to witness how technically and perfectly locked in with each other these guys were back then was a slayer( and Lombardo ) fans dream come true , you could feel the positive energy coming from the whole band , it felt like they were back on the reign in blood tour , I'm so glad I went to see them over 30 times during 2002 to 2011 , I know it's old news now but it still pisses me off to think that Kerry and Tom decided to shit on Dave again in 2013, how they then went on to record their last album without Jeff and Dave was to me disrespectful to the fans who made them the famous musicians they are , if Dave had of recorded the drums in that album it would have sounded so much better , slayer albums without Dave ( for the most part sound rubbish as far as the drums go) divine intervention had mostly been finished as far as the songs had been put together and rehearsed with Dave writing the drum parts , you can really hear the difference in style between Paul and Dave in that album , the only really good song Paul wrote and recorded ,that sounded like slayer was payback , everything else sounded off , Slayer let the fans down when they announced the final tour and album and Dave wasn't part of it , tom and Kerry alone aren't slayer .

One of the best or THE BEST OF ALL TIME who retired due of neck's injury and legal issues with him and king
Dave Lombardo is a fucking unstoppable Metronome! :O
+Simon Egelund LOL correct man
+Simon Egelund Brilliantly said!
+Simon Egelund he is sorely missed behind the kit
Dave is the structure of Slayer music. Paul's an excellent drummer, but he ain't the same...
dave lombardo, it is dave lombardo, not just the technique, the dude, speak with is tom

@ No shit bro - I was so influenced 88-00s by Jeff. 💪💪💪 a force / blistering shredder,👊⚡💪
Wow that bass growls!!! this is how it should of been recorded in albums.
Good times, Araya could still headbang
Why cant he nowadays?
13Drumsticks He has a steel plate in his spine I think
+ChernovFan100 he got a metal plate put in his neck and won't head bang no more cause it hurts tom array to
Absolutely Fantastic hardcore Thrash metal music, No Simps No Beta males none and not wanted
Screw the "Big Four" , these are the BIG FOUR !! the real Slayer !

Nice to hear the bass too.

Love this mix! Every instrument can be heard equally.
Nice!
{Tom's Bass has awesome tone}

So great to see Tom Headbanging back then. I miss it, but we all get old. Wasn't to long after this that he found out he had damage to his neck. ;o(
