Today, March 19th, internationally renowned Renaissance folk rock band Blackmore’s Night release the official music video for their new single ‘Second Element’, taken from their new studio album “Nature’s Light”, released one week ago on March 12th, 2021.
According to Candice Night, ‘Second Element’ is a love song dedicated to source of all our lives - water: “We've been big fans of Sarah Brightman for many years. And her work with Frank is just incredible. When we heard the song on an album that she had done many years ago, we just instantly fell in love with it. Second Element II. But there were two versions of it that she recorded. One, she does as more of a love song. And this other one, it's really still a love song, but it's a love song to the element of water, and how water is the source of our lives. And how traveling through rivers and springing up life everywhere it goes.
And it was just such a fascinating concept.”, says Candice. “We thought that it would be a perfect home to do a song that was so entwined with our theory of Nature's Light and the element of water. And that what the song wound up being, the Second Element, which was the water element and so vital and magical to us and to the world around us.”
Blackmore’s Night have created a magical rendition to Sarah Brightman’s classic song, while still putting that unique Blackmore’s Night twist on it. The single is being accompanied by a wonderful music video, now available on the band’s official TH-cam channel.

At the electric Blackmore has lost some of his punch from his prime..but...at the acoustic he is a giant. And yes, the guy is around 75 so as an old fan I'm happy he's still around.

I am glad that he resurrected Rainbow a few years ago.
No disrespect for what he does with Blackmore's Night, obviously; indeed I like some of their songs.
But he is one of the kings of Hard Rock guitar, so I prefer him in that version. Of course, he is great with the acoustic too.

I had forgotten what a great guitar player Ritchie Blackmore is. I grew up listening to him and Deep Purple back in the late 60's and early 70's. I'm glad to see he's still alive and kicking it in 2021.

I love this video and I absolutely adore the song. being visually impaired I was able to close my eyes and sit back and imagine what was coming in the video. I rewatch the video and lo and behold my vision was pretty similar to what the actual video is. Congratulations this is a beautiful song followed with a beautiful video and it also had the added bonus of having Richie Blackmore's mastery of the guitar chords. A win-win.

Блэкмора еще в молодости прозвали "Мрачным и непостижимым Королем хард-роковой гитары" но это не совсем полное определение его гениальности. Он столь же и классический гитарист и виолончелист. Мне думается что это сам БОГ через Ритчи творит СВОЮ Музыку для людей.

Yep. Not his most inspired lead, but it's still very pleasing. It's insane how fat that bridge pickup sounds (if the video actually reflects the settings in the audio)... Among the best sounds to have come from a strat.
Ritchie have this cream finish but the comment on pure gold Is maybe a good idea a gold Stratocaster with graduated scallops frets like the gold Stratocaster of Prince (RIP).
Well a strat with gold lace sensor pickups. 🤘🏻and God himself playing it. And Candice delivers as always on the vocal front, absolutely amazing song!

Ritchie’s strat sound is unique and sublime! Nobody has ever reached his level! Thank you Ritchie for still giving us such wonderful feelings!
This is his sound since the eightiest. As far as the sound goes it's quite generic. This could be easy achieved on a Gibson type of a guidar. Gainy and compressed. Ritchie's signature STRAT sound was in Deep Purple and early Rainbow period.Overdriven power tubes of a loud Marshall amps almost no pre amp/pedal gain. Very open and vicious sound.
@@mickeystanic4750 I agree he has a nice signature style. You can always tell it's him. A lot of musicians do. I can also immediately tell when I hear Michael Sweet play.

Just when you think Ritchie and Candice can't possibly write a more beautiful song than they already have... "Here. Hold my beer." [EDIT: I just read further into the description and saw that it’s a Sarah Brightman cover. However, I’m sure my comment will apply to another song n the album. But I do agree that this performance is sublime.]
This is not their original song though. But the performance is sublime.
The Sarah Brightman original was made on an album "Dive" that was quite different to her later releases that reflected her classical period instigated by her then husband, Lloyd Webber and the Phantom of the Opera. Despite her penchant for classical operatic, Brightman has always had a Rock/Prog leaning and amongst all the operatic stuff on her later albums, there are some Rock and Pop songs. This version is very similar to the original - Richie Blackmore is one artist that doesn't fiddle about with making changes for the sake of it. A great cover!

I am familiar with some Sarah Brightman, but did not know this song at all, so this was totally new to me. Best tune on the album, beautiful melody, awesome theme, Ritchie and Candice sound as amazing as ever.

Great atmospheric song, beautifully sung and with dripping emotion in the guitar solo. I also really think that Ritchie should release a double album of his instrumentals, going back to 1980-1. So many classics. His fans would snap it up.
Serving the song. That's what masters and legends do. Blackmore continues to be above everyone, whether it be simple or complex.
There are few guitar players that can be recognised just by playing one note. Ritchie is one of them. As Ritchie once quoted " it's not how fast you get from one end of the neck to the other it's what you see on the way ". Enough said !!
